Kazaks disparage Neil, Celtic preparations. Charlotte Fakes

1247

Shakhter seem convinced they will eliminate Celtic tomorrow.  Their friendly journalist explained why to Kazak readers today:

“Despite winning comfortably enough in the capital last Tuesday, Celtic remain confident of overturning the deficit in Albion (sic).  Getting to the group stage is not a forbidden dream for Shakhter, it is their right as a result of recent domestic success.

“Shakhter have the mining spirit of resilience, respect and strict discipline.  Glasgow also has a long mining tradition but Margaret Thatcher closed the mines in the 1980s (!).  Since then, Glasgow people lost their previous spirit once and for all.

“Neil Lennon was unprepared and the Celtic defenders unable to do the job in Astana.  Just like BATE Borisov, they think they will overcome the result in the second leg.  Just like BATE they are still unprepared for Shakhter.

“Albion’s (sic) best managers are from Glasgow, Busby, Ferguson, Stein, Shankley, Dalglish, Moyes, but the current Celtic leadership chose a man from Ireland, Neil Lennon, who is permanently under fire from fans of the “Celts”.

“Celtic have an epidemic of injuries.  Stokes, Commons, Forrest, Boerrigter, Kayal and Samaras.

“The referee is from Norway.  Scandinavians appreciate a tough fight.  The game is a very sensitive, contact, martial arts sport.  Svein Moen will understand.

“Before the game in Astana Neil Lennon said Shakhter play a very British style.  Why wasn’t he able to find an antidote to this?  Maybe he got Shakhter completely wrong.

“Karagandy’s three central defenders are impenetrable.  They close down space and do not interfere with each other.

“The “Catholics” refuse to acknowledge that Shakhter did not miss a ball against them in the first leg.  They think that because they can from 0-2 down against Inverness they can do the same against Shakhter.  This is unacceptable.  It will seem more absurd if the Miners open their account in Glasgow.

“In defeating BATE, Shakhter have already eliminated a higher seed than Celtic.”

Leave nothing in the dressing room, Celtic.

Charlotte Fakes

When I started Celtic Quick News in 2004 I had neither contacts nor inside information.  I started writing about the accounts, which was hugely consequential but, at the time, largely ignored public information.  Soon after the blog gained some momentum this changed.  People would come to me with information and views which were used to direct articles.

It only took a matter of weeks to go from zero contacts to having a network of people feeding into the blog.

I have no idea how Charlotte Fakes acquired some of her early information but, with doubts over the matter, it is understandable that the media was hesitant at touching it under the shadow of Leveson.

The Charlotte Fakes story has moved on, recent revelations have nothing whatsoever to do with Mr Whyte’s mailbox.  We are now in the territory of cast iron whistle-blower information.  She has her own network of people feeding legally acquired information, which the whistle-blower believes is in the public interest to reveal.

Some people in the game have had their snouts in the trough for so many decades a reservoir of resentment has built up against them among those who were once collaborators but are now cast aside.  You are reading the fruits of this on Charlotte Fakes.

The only question is, while the rest of the world has a new-found appreciation of the value of whistle-blowers, are ‘all the president’s men’ still prepared to look the other way in Scotland?

  1. whit? More the board are it conspiracy theories. Where did I leave my fence?

Can we call a multilateral truce until 2 seconds after the final whistle tomorrow when normal hostilities can resume unabated. in the interim let’s concentrate on supporting the Bhoys pump those arrogant Kazakh sheep worriers.

I remember another occasion when a big mouthed manager mentioned something about men against boys cue Henke and Chris ramming the words down his arrogant Hun throat.

And to think that these people have a vote? It’s scary.

I think even I could sell sevco season books.

If they had their way, we wouldn’t have a vote. Sell them season books – of course you could. Just bring a “real Sevco man” on board for ten minutes – job done, bye bye real Sevco man. Simples!

good post. There’s definitely something going on on the blog. I think people are very aware of the importance of tomorrow and there is a complete mix of emotional approaches and rational approaches within the same blogger. One blogger, n2 for instance, is hypersensitive to criticism but hits the crux of the issues on the head – result – internecine war !

I think we are all aware of the importance of tomorrow because in one match is summed up all our frustrations and hopes of trying to achieve in modern sphell. Modern sphell is not an easy place to achieve in because ………. please see, p67, phil mac, nfl (assaulted, bombed etc.) PL,paul mcconville and all those who’ve tried to deal with the pox merchants.

Let’s hit these shaktar bassas with thunder !

  5. I’m not excusing either PL or the board for their silence just wondering why they wouldn’t say anything, because unless there serious consequences regarding disrepute charges etc, then at the very worst they’d come across a bit childish/sore grapes/tinfoil hat (delete as you see fit).

If the club were to say anything, they would have 100% proof, which I believe they already have.

Maybes they are working behind the scenes with uefa, fifa for an out, who knows, but their silence baffles me.

    My opinion is BACK CELTIC.

Your opinion is to denegrate Celtic. Bleat about Celtic. Irrationally criticise Celtic. Condemn those running Celtic without foundation; pure hypothetical rabble-rousing.

Let Neil Francis Lennon on Sky Sports News today burst your little fantasy bubble of Celtic hate:

‘It’s not that we haven’t got the board’s backing, it’s that it has been very difficult to get the players in.’

So whose fault is it now? From the horse’s mouth we have confirmation he HAS been given the money.

Lenny goes after the target, the board give him the money, but the player won’t be persuadeed. Yet.

And other stories pour in from other clubs about the volatility of the transfer market. We operate from a Z-listed league. Wake up. The roses are pungent in the SPL.

Why spit venom about situations you kow little about?

    Back Celtic.

    Me too.

The other angle that could be getting played is that if we make the type of accusations it becomes a criminal matter, and we all know how keen UEFA/FIFA are on the legal system being involved in football.

So are we just playing a waiting game, letting enough stuff make it’s way into the public domain that the main guys will have no choice but to go? Perhaps they, like we never imagined that the likes of Ogilvie et al would brass-neck it.

Anyone who thinks that should reflect on these pearls of wisdom:-

“Rangers are a fantastic club with a great history. They will, in not too long a time, be back in the SPL. I have no doubt about that.

“And they’re needed for Scottish football because of their following, the size of the club and especially their history. We certainly would like to contest with them every week. We believe we have a better team and management structure.

“For us, it’s disappointing that they are not there but that’s decisions by the various clubs and leagues and we accept those.

“Rangers are one of the great clubs in Britain and we have to acknowledge that.

“They are a motivation for us to go along and beat them in every Old Firm match, so we miss that opportunity.”

  17. Can’t fathom the concept of NFL telling porkies about imminent arrivals if there was no real substance to it and would think it more likely that negotiations with agenda driven agents were more elongated than was initially envisaged for some reason or another , I’ll give him the benefit of doubt as he has absolutely no reason to mislead us and certainly has no history of doing so , however , I do suspect that his portrayal of this bosom buddy relationship with PL is somewhat exaggerated and that he too feels the same frustration that we do with regards to the snails pace of our recruitment policy …… and if he doesn’t he damn well should ….. at least he’s not omitted those dreaded words of being happy to go with what he’s got or understands that clubs do what clubs do and balance the books .

  18. Weeminger @ 17;01,

Got to agree, we have few friends in the Scottish Football hierachy, less in the SMSM.

You only speak out whem you want to get your point across, there is no way Celtic’s will get their views highlighted.

Well apart from a few T’internet bampots.

In fact the opposite would occur, our views would be misrepresented in the written, spoken and Televised MSM.

It may even go National like the referees strike.

Remember that, referees conspired against Celtic, lies to our Manager and when our Chairman spoke out about it all hell broke lose.

The referees went on strike accusing Celtic of intimidation, the SFA President accused Celtic of indulging in conspiracy theories.

The Press had a field day and the whole thing went National.

That is when Celtic are specifically and clearly wronged, with evidence to back it up and Paul McBride QC on board.

I think its unlikely Lennie has a lot to do with new signings he expected one in on Monday and another mid week and we have not seen anyone materilise as yet.I think the SSM has played the transfers in to his advantage and is hanging out to see wither its the CL or the Europa league.I am rather surprised as I always thought of Lennie as his own man but it appears like many other managers he is there to do the boards bidding.Finance appears to come before football maybe we should have become an Investment Company. I suppose it’s good sometimes to keep someone such as co in such a high position. When we need something and the time is right he’s our puppet and he’ll do anything to save himself.

  27. Living_in_the_Love_of_the_Commons_People on

Lenny making his stating that it is very difficult to get signings in solidifies the point that we should have more of an overall strategy in place where there is an established No.1 and No.2 for the spine of the team.

As we are certainly to find ourselves a “developmental”, or selling team for the foreseeable future, it’s imperative that when we sell a Hooper and Wanyama we have that No.2 ready to step into the breech.

This is a practice that I apply myself. I realize I’m on the more “tender” side of CQN’s demographic, however I run my own department for a corporation on the west coast of the US. When I lose an employee, who has been performing well I have his apprentice who I have been mentoring all ready to take over his responsibilities. Sound business practice, with no consequences with regard to productivity.

Is it possible to apply a similar strategy to the Celtic team? It seems we have a youth squad that are not ready to step up to the challenge of Champions League football, but surely we can at least have a strategy in place to have instant cover for key positions in the first team, without too much financial burden.

That would at least stop this scrambling in the transfer market, with various low life agents holding us to ransom and curtail this apparent drop in performance when we do lose a key player.

  28. Hugh MacDonald was interesting in yesterday’s Herald. He pointed out that we had scored three only once this season and had shipped very preventable goals in our last two games. The team has not yet clicked. Hope the clicking starts soon.
