Kazaks disparage Neil, Celtic preparations. Charlotte Fakes

1247

Shakhter seem convinced they will eliminate Celtic tomorrow.  Their friendly journalist explained why to Kazak readers today:

“Despite winning comfortably enough in the capital last Tuesday, Celtic remain confident of overturning the deficit in Albion (sic).  Getting to the group stage is not a forbidden dream for Shakhter, it is their right as a result of recent domestic success.

“Shakhter have the mining spirit of resilience, respect and strict discipline.  Glasgow also has a long mining tradition but Margaret Thatcher closed the mines in the 1980s (!).  Since then, Glasgow people lost their previous spirit once and for all.

“Neil Lennon was unprepared and the Celtic defenders unable to do the job in Astana.  Just like BATE Borisov, they think they will overcome the result in the second leg.  Just like BATE they are still unprepared for Shakhter.

“Albion’s (sic) best managers are from Glasgow, Busby, Ferguson, Stein, Shankley, Dalglish, Moyes, but the current Celtic leadership chose a man from Ireland, Neil Lennon, who is permanently under fire from fans of the “Celts”.

“Celtic have an epidemic of injuries.  Stokes, Commons, Forrest, Boerrigter, Kayal and Samaras.

“The referee is from Norway.  Scandinavians appreciate a tough fight.  The game is a very sensitive, contact, martial arts sport.  Svein Moen will understand.

“Before the game in Astana Neil Lennon said Shakhter play a very British style.  Why wasn’t he able to find an antidote to this?  Maybe he got Shakhter completely wrong.

“Karagandy’s three central defenders are impenetrable.  They close down space and do not interfere with each other.

“The “Catholics” refuse to acknowledge that Shakhter did not miss a ball against them in the first leg.  They think that because they can from 0-2 down against Inverness they can do the same against Shakhter.  This is unacceptable.  It will seem more absurd if the Miners open their account in Glasgow.

“In defeating BATE, Shakhter have already eliminated a higher seed than Celtic.”

Leave nothing in the dressing room, Celtic.

Charlotte Fakes

When I started Celtic Quick News in 2004 I had neither contacts nor inside information.  I started writing about the accounts, which was hugely consequential but, at the time, largely ignored public information.  Soon after the blog gained some momentum this changed.  People would come to me with information and views which were used to direct articles.

It only took a matter of weeks to go from zero contacts to having a network of people feeding into the blog.

I have no idea how Charlotte Fakes acquired some of her early information but, with doubts over the matter, it is understandable that the media was hesitant at touching it under the shadow of Leveson.

The Charlotte Fakes story has moved on, recent revelations have nothing whatsoever to do with Mr Whyte’s mailbox.  We are now in the territory of cast iron whistle-blower information.  She has her own network of people feeding legally acquired information, which the whistle-blower believes is in the public interest to reveal.

Some people in the game have had their snouts in the trough for so many decades a reservoir of resentment has built up against them among those who were once collaborators but are now cast aside.  You are reading the fruits of this on Charlotte Fakes.

The only question is, while the rest of the world has a new-found appreciation of the value of whistle-blowers, are ‘all the president’s men’ still prepared to look the other way in Scotland?

They are not a good team and we should thrash the living daylights out of them but our own organisation is the issue and the tactics we play with. Neil got it drastically wrong away from home but I think he’ll have learned his lessons from that.

Hi El Madrigal. There is another factor regarding long-distance travel which is to SK’s advantage and that is that they are travelling WEST for this game. The Kazak’s will have a shorter flight and then just have to stay up a few hours longer before getting a good normal sleep, whereas travelling east tends to screw up your body clock (at least it does for me). You are right of course that the return flight is an irrelevance to SK. Hopefully the long travel will have an adverse affect on SK, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Travel aside and all other things being equal I trust that we have enough in our locker to get the win differential that we need. I think for this to happen though the team, the manager and the crowd will all need to be at their very best for us to come through this with the win differential that we need.

canny believe some of the stuff that gets posted on here, are there some that think the manager actually lied to us at the week-end?.if by saying what he said that he was hoping for a signing on Monday and that discussion with another were scheduled for Monday then he obviously believed that to be the case,i am as frustrated as the rest of the support and to a degree angry that the suits have dragged their heels on the pursuit of targets, but who can say truly they know why?.it’s ok saying we should have signed this guy and that guy, the only real target we have let slip(so far) is finbogason, it is on record that herenveen told us £5, and we talk, only for Pl to offer half, all the others have been paper talk, and rumour, I agree 100% that we knew a year ago hoops and big vic were off and as such we should have sought replacements long ago, but again none of us are privy to transfer dealing so it’s all conjecture,i am tearing my hair out with the silence, but I am will to keep my powder dry for another week…

It would be interesting to know if the five-way agreement really exists, what it says and what part, if any, Celtic had in bringing it into being or allowing others to do so.

Much more concrete, as Auldheid has pointed out for months, is that the wee tax case, having crystallised and become, on the face of it, money owed to the tax authorities before March 31, 2011, should have meant no European football for the liquidated Rangers in season 2011-2012 (Malmo and Maribor, but a shot at millions). Celtic should have had that chance.

What have Celtic had to say about this? If the answer is nothing, so far, does it make a difference that Charlotte has published a letter from the now president of the SFA setting up some of the events that led to the wee tax case? If the guy at the top of the organisation that ‘mistakenly’ allowed Rangers the shot at glory instead of us is now, allegedly, shown to have been up to his eyes in bringing about the wee tax case, have we still nothing to say?

  19. For any of the Irish Lhads wanting to catch a glimpse of Pukki playing tonight, Setanta Ireland are showing the 2nd leg of PAOK Salonika v Schalke at 7.40pm. It will be interesting to see if he gets a game as he was on the bench on Saturday in the defeat against Hannover. Schalke’s sponsor Gazprom have pumped millions into them over the last few years, yet, arguably, they are in a worse position than us tonight trying to get through against a team who have an away goal.

I watched the first leg last week and was very impressed by PAOK. Liam Lawrence plays for them. Their best player though was the former Chelsea and Fenerbahce player Stoch who scored a cracker last week. Looking forward to it as it will take me mind off tomorrow night.

Thanks. Obviously the timing of all this is terrible, but that’s not our fault.

The senior management team is the group in charge of making the big decisions while we all look after Celtic for generations to come. If that group of people has taken with good reason a series of actions that, on the face of it, could be interpreted as going along with the big Scottish football scandals of 2011, 2012 and 2013, we still need to know.

If that is the case, there will be an explanation. Can we have it, please?

Tomorrows match is a cup final for Celtic. It should be treated as such.

There are no tomorrow’s. This team no matter how good they are should be blootered from the first kick. Celtic should chase every ball. Celtic should not be patient. Celtic should go for the jugular in the first minute and not stop going for it until this team are 3 goals down. I’m happy to hear talk of game plans and patience, etc. BUT when this game kicks off tomorrow I would hope that was all a smoke screen.

I predict we will score in the first 20 mins from a corner. Their keeper is murder at defending them. Keep them in their half. There is no danger they can score from there. Celtic need to attack and keep it up their end of the pitch. I think the tie will be all square by 30 mins gone and we will have it won early in the 2nd half.

Please don’t play with patience Celtic we are not Barcelona go for the jugular in the first minute!

Not the nicest of comments, and not really befitting of a manager, but hardly the worst things in the world.

On the other hand let us consider another scenario, one where Peter Lawwell comes out onto the steps of Celtic Park and states categorically that the SFA and SPL are both corrupt and run by cheats. How many charges and made up severe punishments might that bring?
