Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, were as recently as yesterday briefing media that they hoped to conclude the sale of Rangers before the end of the season – which is their game against St Johnstone on Sunday.
Late Friday morning this seems unlikely but it is an important deadline. If Rangers morph into a Newco and are given permission by the SFA and SPL to take the field against St Johnstone on Sunday, any player who participates will have transferred his employment to Newco. Newco would then be able to retain his services for the length of his Rangers contract or would be able to sell him to fund a trading shortfall.
If a Newco is formed after Sunday, players have two months to decide if they want to join the company or remain Rangers employees until redundancy or until Rangers fail to pay wages.

If and when the FTT declare the illegality of the EBT scam then de jure all these payments are also illegal in football terms. It may also be the case that even if Rangers win the FTT then the the EBT’s could be deemed illegal in football terms.
Therefore there is no escape. It will be outwith the SFA/SPL hands . UEFA and FIFA will not tolerate this historic level of abuse.
Brian Kennedy you are go for lunch at T minus 20 and counting.

I don’t understand – is there a circumstance where
a) The huns themselves decide they are a newco and play newco v st johnstone on Sunday with no need for anyones permission
b) The sfa will meet before Sunday and grant said huns that permission
Or is the answer no , on two counts, and thats the point of it?
enmac – just shows what a fallacy the Cheekie Chappie image is. It’s really difficult to marry up the sinister aspects of McCoist’s rant with the man promoting SCIAF.
BTW, what’s the origin of your moniker?!

good interview on the radio matey
thought Jabba and Dung were at their stupid best
do they believe that that any CVA crippled Hun or Hun Newco could seriously compete with us
having regard to their miserable squad/poor management/transfer embargo/no European football etc …they would have to work hard to finish second
btw your comment re the Hun inglorious years of cheating was well made …i noticed that they didn`t answer it at all
The funny thing for me is that fat sleekit Ally should be delighted the Gers are in administration. As with his track record as a manager had they not been administration IMO he would have been sacked by now.Every cloud has a silver lineing. H.H.

If you have a spare couple of hours
Looking at the list of tweets etc regards the findings in the SFA report, i take back what i posted a half hour ago
There is no way their appeal could be successful based on the evidence at the original panel
Imo they were lucky to get just a 12 month transfer ban and a meaningless fine
Paul,
Does this mean our weekend party starts after 5pm close of SFA and/or SPL Offices?
First drink a bottle of Miller before moving rapidly on to Carlsberg, then of course defaulting on to The Tar.
Our bowels are in for a battering before Monday!
Stop press: D&P announce that the deadline to announce today’s deadline by which final final, we really mean it this time, final bids must be received has been delayed.
It is anticipated that a new deadline will be set by which non-indicative bids meeting the quantum of acceptability must be received, and if none are deemed to be capable of delivery then another few bidders will have to be found before a new preferred, well slightly favoured, bidder can be determined.
It has also been announced that Lord Lucan is watching proceedings with a keen eye and may instruct a bid to be made by his agent should the final, final, or really last, closing dates be extended.
What if “The Necow” has almost been set-up and all the offers and deadlines were to keep the forming of “The Newco” before Saturday, “off the radar”…if B.Kennedy gets the go ahead today then that is what has been going on and they will take to the field on Saturday with everything in place, which has been the plan since way back, and they have then managed to keep all eyes of the ball… I this a possibility? por cierto
Paul67
Your Article seems to be saying if newco is in place before Sunday night then the players are automatically transferred over and that’s that. They can be kept or sold at newcos convenience.
You seem to have taken a similar chavalier stance as D&P yesterday to Employment Law and TUPE Regulations. As an employee do they not have the right not be to transferred over and seek redundancy.

No they wont but who is Scottish football would care if we were banned from European club or International tournaments.
Answer only Celtic & we only have one vote.
I hope I am wrong but this will not end the way many of us hope.
Hail Hail!
The findings of the SFA report are, err……..awkward.
Is it too late for the huns to withdraw their appeal??

Was there not an point raised the other week that if that happened, relegated to div1, then that would be were they started next season and not div3.
So they would be able to be promoted back to the SPL in 1 season rather than going to div3 and taking the 3 seasons to come back to the SPL.
In theory relegation to div1 would be a much better result in the long term rather than div3.
In the hope that being booted out of the SPL to the SFL they would have to start in div3 but being relegated in to SFL they would argue to be able to start in div1.
I’m struggling to figure out how a Newco football club registers a whole team of players outside of a transfer window.
I’m sure D&P have an answer, or at the very least, an avoidance of the question.
Brian Kennedy put your cash into Hibs ya chancer,

Wonder if the punishment can be increased on appeal?
Meanwhile while Scottish football is in the greatest turmoil of any football country in the world ever Stewart Regan is tweeting about Scottish Women’s team in Gdansk!!
Nice one Stewart glad to see our beautiful game is in your capable hands, how is Campbell these days??
I still find it amazing that now that the statement of reasons for the RIA’s punishments have been published stating that RIA knew who the judicial panel were yet fat Sally is let off scot free for his demands!!
PF Ayr – do you think Lord Carloway will be intimidated by McMoist and his lynch mob? The snippets I have seen so far on the findings leave Rangers’ appeal basis of “it isnae fair, it oz Whyte wot done it” swinging in the wind IMO
Can the appeal body increase the punishment?
This appeal is vexatious!
TMWTL, they should have been expelled. Simple as that. And Huns fans think they got punished to much!
SffS
SonsOfErin – they wouldn’t need registered. The registration is attached to the SFA membership. If that is transferred so too are the players reg’s….IF….said players agree to do so.
Monaghan – was just thinking the same. It’s not impossible that the Appeal panel could increase the punishment, but I just can’t see it.
Everyone’s waiting on HMRC doing the dirty deed….what’s keeping them?!

That’s a point people are ignoring because it highlights an unpalatable truth.
Namely that the commercial attraction of the us v the huns game, the fixture we are told that funds Scottish football, isn’t really about football, or sporting rivalry, it’s about sectarianism and bigotry and hatred.
Andy Coyle @STV_Andy
There are a few asking about appeal. Yes, the SFA could increase the punishment on May 16.
Greetings from a very overcast Buenos Aires.
Had a look around Boca Juniors stadium yesterday and talked with a few fans about Racing. Boca are really the big show in BA town.
Glad to read about the great event in the concert hall last night.
Good luck to all Celts and have a great day on Sunday- my thoughts will be with you.
Time for Rangers to die.
Im beginning to think that I wish I had put a bit of effort into preparing a special blog message for the day the blue yins died..
So hands up now, come on, be out with it, confession time.. own up if you have already penned an eloquent post for the instant that the huns die and then you just press send and smugly look on as overexcited bloggees like myself try to login and type the word “Yipeee” while screaming, jumping up and down and trying not to spill the champers too much, before the entire timternet crashes.
Jacob Craqueur* @BStarksTH
Seems clear Ally McCoist deliberately incited the loaded weapons that are rangers supporters. RFC knew the panel days before. Should resign
I would love to see Sally dragged over hot coals for this one, I can’t stand him…
Could anyone provide me with a link to Paul’s interview last night?
Lord Carloway (Colin Sutherland) is a very senior judge and has a lot of experience in white collar crime. He fined Transco a record £15M for an explosion in Larkhall a few years back.

I wouldn’t bet on Carloway deciding not to increase it.
Here is another part of Rangers’ appeal basis blown out of the water. The panel did consider the effect it may have on a sale but correctly decided that their job was to apply the rules without regard.
“It was remarkable that the Tribunal was sitting in determination of matters of professional football regulation of significance during the very days in which the Tribunal, not immune to current events, was aware there were commercial matters of greatimportance under discussion elsewhere which would no doubt affect the parties. TheTribunal, however, recognised from the outset that its task was a wholly judicial one indetermining the particular complaints of breaches of the rules before it according to therelevant rules and the procedures of the Judicial Panel Protocol, and determining uponthe evidence which was made available before it what was an appropriate sanction toimpose on each party having regard to the nature and degree of the breach of the rulesand the circumstances of the party. It recognised that the Tribunal would be in seriouserror in its judicial function if it engaged in an exercise of speculation about matters suchas the terms of possible offers, not yet made, for the purchase of a majority shareholdingin Rangers FC, or the response of these unknown offerors to any adverse finding againstRangers FC. The Tribunal would equally have been in serious error if it engaged in anexercise of speculation as to any sanction which might in future matters before footballauth
orities be imposed upon Rangers FC for matters within those authorities’
jurisdictions”
