Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, were as recently as yesterday briefing media that they hoped to conclude the sale of Rangers before the end of the season – which is their game against St Johnstone on Sunday.
Late Friday morning this seems unlikely but it is an important deadline. If Rangers morph into a Newco and are given permission by the SFA and SPL to take the field against St Johnstone on Sunday, any player who participates will have transferred his employment to Newco. Newco would then be able to retain his services for the length of his Rangers contract or would be able to sell him to fund a trading shortfall.
If a Newco is formed after Sunday, players have two months to decide if they want to join the company or remain Rangers employees until redundancy or until Rangers fail to pay wages.

BRIAN KENNEDY and Paul Murray have been turned down in their bid to save Rangers.
Record Sport can reveal after a tense morning of negotiations with administrators from Duff and Phelps, Kennedy has now been told the joint joint bid – believed to be worth in excess of £8.5m- cannot be accepted.
Kennedy and Murray are now expected to officially follow through on their promise to withdraw from the race to save the stricken club from extinction with a press conference being arranged for later this afternoon at an as yet unconfirmed venue in Glasgow.

They are quantum leaping into various points in the past in an attempt to alter the future, each time erasing an EBT and moving the Johnstone signing back a year. But as their machine is faulty it keeps bringing them back to a future date, hence the frequent amendments to deadlines. This is what happens when you buy time machines on the cheap from Doc Brown. Kayal33 – admittedly I have only skimmed the SFA findings but from the points I have seen I do not know how an appeal can be upheld. The panel have been thorough and the findings are detailed. By their own admission the QC thinks they have been lenient in their punishment. I would be stunned if the learned Lord thinks differently.

Bill and Ted just sent me a text confirming a sighting of Duff and Phelps in Doc’s time machine. They can’t get the engine to turn over and are stuck in 1998. When I was watching Celtic at one of the lowest ebbs in their history for all those years after the absolute high of 1988, I never dreamed these days would be possible.
I have watched rangers in administration suffer blow after blow and enjoyed every minute of it.
I have watched bitter, bitter huns crumble and refuse to make eye contact and I have loved it.
A part of me was hopiong Sunday would be one of the best wakes ever seen but now I realise Sunday is OUR DAY to celebrate all that we are, all we have been and more importantly all we will achieve in the future.
We are Celtic, were you never walk alone.
