  1. DontPatmadug. I think that’s the key.

Our formation, etc. could have been suspect of course, but no system in the world would work when most of our players can neither control nor pass the ball…!

As i posted earlier, we have a team full of internationals whereas i didn’t know any of their players.

RD is probably as shocked as we are at his (comparatively) high earning squad are incapable of doing the absolute basics required in a professional football player…!!

  2. Hard to be calm after that. As awful a performance as you could ever imagine. Ambrose will get the criticism but Mulgrew was also a major contribution to our downfall.

The fears that the manager is this season’s Pat Fenlon grew when I saw his extraordinary team selection. Picking somebody for his first game who wasn’t signed until Monday would be high risk if it was Lionel Messi farcless a nonentity who contributed nothing

I have rarely been so angered by Celtic as I was tonight and it gives me no pleasure than to say that those so called mineshafters who have criticised the ‘strategy ‘ from the point at which it became apparent have been right all along.

Celtic have had plenty of bad nights in the past but this was as unacceptable as anything I have ever seen. The support has been utterly failed by a board who have wilfully overseen our decline from as recently as two years ago. The Deila experiment seemed high risk and unless a miracle happens next Tuesday it can already be dismissed as a complete failure and a disgraceful folly by those who run the club.

Sorry to say this but I feel I have to say it to someone.

I have been told on numerous occasions over the past almost 10 years, since MON left, that me and my like were responsible for Celtic being the worst ever Celtic.

    Tonight it may feel that you have been vindicated but then you and others felt the same way after Artmedia, Utrecht, Sion etc;

Celtic will come good again. We may not make the CL group this year (it will be long odds against) but we will come good again.

There is no cowardice involved with people who choose to bow out rather than become the target for other Celtic fans. You’ll have plenty of new names to agree with tonight so you should not need a few contrary punchbags.

Tonight was very poor- no excuses. But we will regroup and go on.

  4. Eyes Wide Open on

What has happened in the last 4 weeks that has made Deila go against his own advice?

Ronnie’s own words were that we wouldnt start the Ronnie way, we would start the Lennon way because thats what the players are comfortable with.

He said himself that theres no reason to force through any radical changes straight away so for the CL qualifiers he would stick with the above.

    What changed?

Why did he go completely Deila?

Why did he fall in to the trap of playing a player out of position (Matthews @ left back – and please, the good game against Barca is way in the past compared to the sporadic appearances there since)

Why did he pick a complete stranger for such an important game!?

At the 1st time of asking Deila has been found wanting.

His lack of any tactic after going down to 10 men and the events which proceeded was pure rabbit in the headlights.

Getting caught on the counter with 2 mins to go in a match we had been roasted in to lose a 4th goal was absolutely criminal – however I think this is probably down to the individual players themselves.

Thumper the rabbit was just standing there staring wide eyed any time the cameras went to him

Maybe we wont, who knows. Tell me this though, is there a another team with the balance sheet we have? No thought not. It’ll only get better as well when we sell VVD and FF maybe even Efe, if we’re lucky.

PL is on record as saying that we aim to qualify for CL 3 times out of 5 so we are still on target, come on you guys who are having second thoughts about buying a season ticket just thik what you’ll be missing. 12,45 sunday kickoffs in freezing december,

Ah, CQN is overrun by happy, but still hurting Huns. Crawl back under your stones curs.

  11. After Artmedia, WGS said a Celtic fan came up to him, shook his hand and said: “At this club, you’ll never walk alone”.

I have the feeling Ronny needs to meet that fan tonight too…

  12. Not so good tonight…. but come on with 11 men and a packed out Murray field we can beat Anyone 3-0. We are Celtic!!!!!

  13. No talk of the board or anything else. This was a disgrace from the manager down.Wrong team selection.I said two weeks ago, shot down of course, that the manager had to play his 1st team in the friendlies. No use moaning about not being fit if the team does not get match fitness. He played a load of kids.Just how did that help us?.While our opponents are playing competitive games, our players are sitting in Scotland watching the St Pauli game.Ridiculous.

To sign a guy yesterday and put him straight in,equally ridiculous.Go with your tried and tested,no tinkering for the main event.

Good God,just how bad was that?.Our legs were run off us.No tackles,no pace,no clue at defending,a manager who just looked totally clueless. To bring on Kayal, who did nothing except run around like a headless chicken, the norm, and give away free kicks in dangerous positions, when we have a boy with composure, remember that word, sitting on the bench.Clueless.We all know, without Broony,Charley does not have the energy to command the midfield.FFS,we know that.

Thats enough from me.Totally disgusted with that performance.

Just a wee finish. Our scouts have been signing dross for us in the striking dept.Did not one of them ever hear of the CF playing tonight Radovitch?.Just where the fek have they been looking?.

“Insisted he is not afraid of a C L catastrophe” What kind of statement is that from a Celtic manager??

  15. Mcdowell celt…. Hope the shoe is on the other foot next week.

I said last week we shouldnt get too high after a win, nor too low after a defeat. Its never as good or bad as it feels.

Celtic have huge resources compared to Legia regardless of what league they play in. Celtic , with the aforementioned wealth of resources, should not be pumped 4-1 (which was very kind on us) by a team of Legia’s standing – FACT.

How any Celtic supporter could attempt to make any excuse for the shambolic nature of tonight’s defeat is beyond me.

  17. SFTB’s, there will be pretty long odds on us to make the CL GS, I fancy a wee flutter.

Fill Murrayfield Bhoys and Ghirls, lets see if they have the bottle.

  18. I think Ronny needs to slow down the rate of change and have the players play a style of football that they’re used to for now. I buy into his approach, but it won’t happen overnight. Results come first.

  19. Mr Z should you look in repeat to you, you are a friend of CQN and of Celtic, enjoy your victory and respect to your fans they made a noise all night long..

  20. From a decent Team last season (even minus Broonie) to a collective shambles – who takes the blame? Players asked to take a new format (they are obviously uncomfortable with) into a European tie?

Lack of expenditure by the Board? Team significantly weakened by departures?

    Don’t think so!

    Tactics? Inexperienced Management/ Board Choice?

    Radical change? Downsizing?

Probably…………………… and at this rate We will be hard pressed to qualify for the Europa League proper!

I remember when we were happy just to stay a whisker ahead of the deid team.

Now we’ll be happy just to stay a whisker ahead of Aberdeen.

How many from the board, down to the management and on to the players can really say they are doing the very best for our club?

  23. tommytwiststommyturns on

A much more experienced WGS had a worse result than this and recovered big-style and that’s the only positive I can take out of this shambles tonight.

When one or two players have a mare (like Charlie & Efe!) it’s bad enough, but when so many players underperform, then the blame has to lie with the manager & coaches. A baffling starting line up and a refusal to shore up a 2-man midfield at h/t points to a naive manager.

I think the tie is beyond us and I seriously hope Ronny learns a lot from the pain of tonight’s result, but the EL beckons.

You really couldn’t blame an extremely hacked off Fraser Forster for telling Lawell to get him the hell out tomorrow!

The hysterics and new posters will take over now, so time to bail.

Sometimes in life you reap what you sow !

As a Tim who gives the board & management of our club the benefit of doubt over the last couple of years then

    tonight is a watershed moment.

    Priorities al wrong.

We continually put the balance sheet as

    number 1 priority.

We let Police Scotland infringe & criminalise the home support in our home.

We need the fans to produce Res 12.

And last but not least we ditch experience for potential at every turn .

    Wrong wrong & wrong again.

  25. Disappointing to see already that some Celtic “supporters” can’t wait for the sale of FF and VVD in order that they can revel in their orgasmic misery.

  26. The board will back Ronny, they have too,as they employed him.

Fraser,Virgil,Effe and maybe Kris will go along with all the crap.

    !5-20m will Ronny get.

  27. Dreadful show tonight, when we are bad we are very bad. As others have said, no midfield, no ball retention, can’t find a man with a pass and no idea. Can’t understand how we continually fall to pieces in Europe.

  28. After last seasons defeat against Ajax over in Amsterdam, I said the exact same thing… Mulgrew is vastly over-rated…. Couldn’t tackle a meat pie. At best should play centre half for us beside v.v.d… And get rid of that chooky Ambrose, before anymore catastrophic disasters…
