    Total disaster. The honeymoon is well over for Ronny. Fraser made 2 great saves, they missed 2 penalties it could have been our worst night ever. The negatonians and the trolls will have a field night and for once I have no complaint with them so doing. I expressed my annoyance here with little digs from Paul and from a few on the blog about Lenny and all the praise being heaped on the new man. Well this would not have happened under Lenny and thats for sure.

    Celtic was playing its first competitive game tonight….Against a team in effect 3 games into its league season. They also play every week in a higher standard of league than ours…

    Well when we need the champions league as much as we do I don’t understand why were not just be a bit more clever when we go forward . Away from home you have to defend much better.In saying that our passing was awful and some of our first touches appalling.Are we able to come back from this? Not if tonight’s performance is a sign of things to come.

    Was happy that we tried a new approach with Ronny’s appointment, not in the camp that we have to spend big but tonights performance reflected a team seriously unprepared for the challenge ahead.

     

     

    Lawell’s annual gamble of we might sign someone if we make the group stages is just about acceptable if we have a basic core but our current squad has zero backbone.

     

     

    Inexperienced manager, weak pre season and a threadbare squad = tonights performance

     

     

    Add just about the most incompetent performance I have ever seen from Charlie Mulgrew and you have a shambles.

    In spite of my last 24 hours, even I’m finding it hard to find something positive to say about that performance …..

     

     

    Some things I just dont understand …

     

     

    Our guys – who are seasoned internationals from all over the world – seem to forget how to do basics like pass or trap a ball when they come to Celtic..

     

     

    Why do our players look so nervous when in possession (and habitually turn and pass backwards)?.

     

     

    In the old days, even if British teams weren’t as technically proficient as the continental teams, they would outwork them. Why do we get closed down as soon as we have the ball, while the opposition seem to have all the time and space in the world?

     

     

    Is it the lack of quality/opposition in the SPL?

     

     

    Genuinely perplexed.

    Legia have done us (the support) a huge favour.

     

     

    Imagine our club with these players minus any good ones and this third rate cheap manager in the CL

     

     

    This morning I was saying the CL is not for us, now I don’t even think we could cope with Europa League.

     

     

    Legia are not much better than Aberdeen but million miles ahead of anything in Norway.

    A manager needs time, not criticism at the first set back.
