I know what you’re thinking. After the media heavyweights told you, on the day Neil Lennon resigned from Celtic, that he was going because he was unhappy with the amount of money he had to spend, pitching up at Bolton Wanderers is a bit curious. What you were told that day was nonsense, deliberately headlined to undermine Celtic.
Neil had been in the shop window since the Everton job came up in May 2013 and had long decided he wanted a crack at managing in England before the end of last season.
On paper, the Bolton job looks daunting. The club are bottom of the second tier of English football, while those immediately above them, Blackpool, Fulham, Wigan and Birmingham, like Bolton have recently had Premier League experience. It’s early enough in the season that survival is a reasonable expectation, but Neil will know little about the squad he takes over, or about their ability to step up.
Taking this job is a huge risk to an accomplished CV but so is spending an extended period on the side-lines as an out-of-work manager. Whatever the reasons he didn’t land a better job over the summer, Neil is a better manager than the English clubs appear to believe. He’ll get Bolton organised and picking up points against teams with better players, just as he did regularly in Europe with Celtic.
In other news many of the same media heavyweights referred to above today report Arsenal are preparing a bid for a Celtic player, in January. After selling us the same story that the same player would be subject to the same bid back in August.
It’s as though they have space to fill on the sports pages and there’re not been a lot of football recently.

Know several folk that have moved from Glasgow and plenty of locals now.
We generally stay in a pals flat in Ibragg or a flat on Tower Road, next to the Diplomat Hotel.
We constantly use Andrews Bar, right at St Georges bay (beach) we know the family that own it (Chircop’s) particularly Andrew, Simon and you Andrew.
We usually use Munchies Bar in Bugibba for any Celtic matches.
Apart from that we visit most of the restaurants in Porto maso, lovely place.
We are contemplating buying a place of our own there, but prices seems to have almost doubled over the last 4 or 5 year. Where about do you live in Malta ?

The a Green fields of France is a wonderful anti war song.
Such a pity that is was adopted by Loyalists many years ago, and is now a staple of the Loyalist tune menu.

PL is paid according to how well he carries out the policy of the club, not how well he measures up to any policy you think he should be measured against.
If you think he is overpaid fair enough. Make a case and put forward a resolution to revise the remuneration system that does pay him to one that you think is more in keeping with the role and responsibility he has.I think it is a debate worth having.
However in the meantime there are contracts to pay in place that cannot just be cut without justification and funding a living wage for all employees via a wage cut in others pay is not a justification.
I’m uncomfortable about asking someone else, no matter how well paid they are, to meet the cost of something that I think is worth doing in principle and so would want to contribute to.
It seems to me that since the support appear to want it done as a matter of club policy that the cost should be born in some way across the club as a whole.
Otherwise it just looks like a device to get at the Board, which is surely not what paying a living wage is about and only serves to undermine the ethical aspect of the resolution.
FT Norway 2 Bulgaria 1,Johansen played well, sitting in front of back 4,a few passes lost possession in bad areas though,Tonev a waste of a jersey.
a braw draw ….hope you betty betty bhoys had that now! …. :)
Hate the daily record/Sunday mail. Sending a Fecking herse to parkhead. Keevins said “we sent it to shame old board”. Did they feck sent it to rub salt into our wounds. Thugs/thieves list goes on.

I cannae remember that!
I barely caught the last bus, yet i was sleeping before it reversed out the bay at Buchanan Street.
The driver woke me up about a mile past my stop by shouting WAKEY WAKEY up the bus at me……slept like a baby for the 45 minute journey home, then had to walk a mile home instead of just 100 yards!
Think i should have just left when you thought i was on cocaine.
Auldheid,
The board costed the living wage at last years AGM at around £500 000, to pay everyone, ditch the win bonus and there will be plenty left over, whose bright idea was a win bonus anyway ?
Paying players extra for doing their job ffs.
Again nitol

You signed Tonev because Celtic scouts watched him one and half an year ago when he played in Poland. They were sure he was promising young tallent. Since that time nobody read Villa forums and football forums in Poland. Tonev will be still promising young tallent in 10 years.
Tontine Tim
Sorry for the late reply, i’m in Oz and just wakened.
Regarding the assault on young Brian McLaughlan
i was only a young lad and had never seen an injury
like it, even after all the years i played in tough Glasgow
amateur leagues and some junior games it still haunts me.
Why McVie wasn’t sent off, well we know why, personally
i would have jailed him.
H/H Mick.
Canamalar,
We must be saving a fortune on win bonuses of late.
