Issue 16 of CQN Magazine is out today and (in my never humble opinion) is our best yet.  We are right up to date, with coverage of the Scottish Cup final.  Phil Mac Giolla Bhain gives historical perspective on Celtic’s position as the last apex in the game.

You’ve ready plenty of great stories of how people got their tickets Seville and we bring you a very Celtic story on how one man got his.  Did you notice we’ve mentioned Willie Wallace a bit recently?  Some of the reasons why are covered by two of Scotland’s best writers, Brogan Hogan and Archie MacPherson, excerpts of their contributions to Heart of a Lion are here for you.

    jeez. I was also at Knebwoth in 79. Epic. He played mainly new stuff, songs from Liars and a medley of Can we still be friends, I saw the light and Hello its me as an encore. All in techno style. I loved it. Last time I sew him it was an acoustic guitar and a a string quartet.. One of my heroes. Remember Knebworth. “We’re gonna turn this place into the biggest goddam disco in all the world”

    Jeez. No. Don’t think so. A drummer on an electronic kit and a guitarist MIDI’d to all kinds of things. Brilliant gig if you don’t want to listen to album versions. Also played Prime time by the Tubes. Poss Todd’s song?

    Possibly, you know Todd, he’s had a hand in everything from Meat Loaf to the New Cars!!

     

     

    Best thing I remember about Knebworth was them all changing instruments during a song and just carrying on as if nothing had happened!!

    Last night in Portugal, golf was great….broony got a black eye the size of a beetroot….

     

    Heading to sleep…wee quick one….Hun golfer from the north says “hello lads are you from the good side or the dark side?” Pal sez…”r u from a bowling club or nae club?” Scuttles away…..we find one of their mobile phones after the round…his screen saver is now Tony Watt….his ring tone is BOTOB….and was handed into the golf reception by Franky n Benny…we thought it was funny……

    Me too. 17 yo. Bus all the way to that Londan and then out to Stevenage. Met two mates from Lossiemouth and cherish the experience. Southside Johnny and Todd were amazing. New Barbarians were late and lame. Time for bed tho!

    Thanks bud…..Glad I had an affect on someones musical taste :)) Have to say despite Gerrys popularity he was fairly new to me….Baker Street is 10 x the song I always thought it was.. City to City is an awesome album.
