Michel Platini’s Financial Fair Play initiative at Uefa has been one of the more inspiring developments at the top of our game for decades. It brought spending into line with income throughout the English game and punished what Platini called financial doping.
It has been so effective, Platini now promises to relax the rules. The blame does not all sit with Platini. Uefa are dealing with 10 legal challenges to the rules, with complainant clubs citing European Law in their defence. The big football powers are split. The English appear in favour of FPP (Manchester City aside), while many stressed clubs across Europe are in opposition.
The concept of living within your means is still resisted in our game, not just in barred hold-outs in Scotland.

I’ll be at Celtic Park this afternoon to renew my ST for myself and my son. Having separated from my wife it’s my time with my boy and no one will stop that; I support Glasgow Celtic and no one else…!

‘Earnie just to be clear are you saying Celtic are cheating their fans and not the SFA or both Celtic and the SFA are cheating the Celtic fans? H H Hebcelt’
###
If the Clubs are complicit then you could argue that the SFA aren’t cheating, but it’s a legalistic argument and matters not a jot.
The bottom line is that Celtic are complicit and that’s what concerns me, not what the SFA are doing.

Good for you my friend.
Hail Hail.
How many European trophies did Aberdeen win?
Who was it they beat in their finals?
No history at all those sheep-shaggers eh?
What a banker.

Is that a fact?

When did Calum Murray retire? He’s been reffing games all season.
——————————————–
He was due to retire end of this season. Up until the Hearts fixture the other week – Murray had only refereed two zombie games the entire season.
Now all of a sudden he gets the gig for two of their last three games.
Is Scotland the only place on earth where a referee can actually choose which team his final game involves?
Remember that goat who picked a Deadco game against Killie I think – the game was level, he is his wisdom added on about 15 minutes of injury time, hoping that the dead club would score the winner, only for Kilmarnock to get the winning goal instead hahaha.
It’s shambles.
HH.
Are people allowed to have a mind of their own anymore?
Are they allowed to follow a path in life in tandem with their morals?
Just because some might have cheap morals or none does not give them the right to castigate people who actually care, but they do, not that I personally give a toss, every time they bleat just confirms my low opinion of them.
Just because the club aren’t shouting from the rooftops doesn’t mean they didn’t do anything behind the sea.
I think it’s unlikely King will plough his own wealth into Rangers. So I think its a good thing. The guy is irresponsible.

Earnie as you read this post what is the time where you are? Straight answer please. Once again in your opinion are Celtic and the SFA cheating the fans or just Celtic, nothing sinister in the question. H H Hebcelt

Good Morning CQN
Notwithstanding a banner that says “Your Silence is Deafening”, what, exactly, have Aberdeen fans done – at all – with regard to the current situation in Scottish football? So far as I am aware, a big fat nothing – talk is cheap. But, we should do something before the whole thing implodes. What to do is the 64k# question

That’s a lot of black notes. And I’ve fingered a few hairy passages in my time…

I’m not saying he’s suitable for the game but the narrative that he’s been brought out of retirement is stretching it just a little.
16 Roads –
Callum Murray told the SFA he was retiring at the end of the season. The season hasn’t finished yet. He did not ask to referee a Rangers game for his last assignment. He was chosen by the SFA to take charge of tonight’s game.
His final game may well be Motherwell v Rangers or Motherwell v Hibernian in the play-off final. Who knows?
Callum Murray is and always has been a Hearts man.

My mistake. I genuinely thought that his last game was the Hearts zombie clash.

Referees are allowed to request their last game and it is most often granted.
TonyD-
I was responding to someone who claimed Murray requested a Rangers game for his final refereeing assignment.
My point is obvious.
Tom..,
How do you know he never asked for the hun game as his last ?

Aye dead on sure.
Chick Young is a St.Mirren supporter.
Murray didn’t think much was wrong with the antics of Diouf and Bougherra right enough.
Picture if that had been two Celtic players behaving like that what his report to the tribunal would have been like?
HH.
Kitalba –
Bit Callum Murray did not ask for a Rangers game.
He expected to have a quiet last month of the season but was brought back into the spotlight because of SFA sanctions against a couple of officials.

It’ll be a cold day in hell before any of them request a Celtic game for their final gig.

As I’ve said previously you allow a governing body to do as they please it’ll continue.
SFA/SPL Liars Cheats and Corrupt Hun Conmen God bless Turnbull Hutton the only man running a lower league club who spoke out. http://youtu.be/Al64cnSZZH0
The cheating has been going on for over 100 yrs & it’s still going on & the more we allow it the more it stays the same.
This is about a governing body doing as they please & yes we’re on top just now but the incident in the Inverness game was just a taster for what’s around the corner.
Celtic is a way of life for all but I’m afraid you get to a stage & say to yourself what’s the point this can’t go on for another 100 yrs & as I said earlier the more we & clubs allow it to stay the same the more we just accept it & Im afraid I can’t/won’t be.
HH boys & girls it’s been a blast.

I’ve rarely gone out wi redheads. Sure, sexy as,no doubt about it. But bloody choosy anaw, sadly!
Anyhows,on colour references. When I was working wi Honda fourteen years ago, they were trialling a new paint colour. They called it Mojave Mist.
Bronze would be the best description I could give of it.
I asked one of the Japanese managers if they were marketing it thus in Germany. I then suggested they check a certain German colloquialism.
He was very grateful. Canny call a shit-coloured car Mojave Manure!

RONNY Deila believes Sunday’s Trophy Day showpiece is shaping up to be the perfect end to a dream debut season as Celtic manager.
Celtic were confirmed as league champions this month without kicking a ball, when Aberdeen’s defeat to Dundee United handed the title to the Hoops.
And, as the Celtic support make their pilgrimage to Paradise, Deila is expecting a mood of celebration.
He said: “I’m looking forward to it. It’s a special day, the last game of the season, we are champions and we want to give a good performance and win the game then afterwards, have a good time.
“I’ve seen some good clips of Trophy Day but, of course, I’ve not done this before, this will be the first time and hopefully there’ll be many more times.
“It is just fun and everything is positive and we’re really looking forward to the game.”

Canamalar –
I was in his company in Edinburgh last Saturday at a big football charity do. I have known him personally for many years and that was our first meeting for some time.
I asked him what games he had lined up and his exact words were, “I thought I was in for a quiet send off but have been given a couple of games.”
He then told me about a couple of refs being “sanctioned” so he was not going to get a quiet exit.
“Celtic were confirmed as league champions this month without kicking a ball, when Aberdeen’s defeat to Dundee United handed the title to the Hoops.”
I thought we played and won loads of game up to then, never kicked a ball

Good point :-)
