Lock up game’s tax deviants

887

The football industry is busy with its twice-a-year transfer jamboree this week but there will scarcely be a player, manager or executive in the country who isn’t daily checking on Harry Redknapp’s on-going court case into his alleged tax arrangements.

Harry, of course, is one of the game’s popular figures, everyone likes him, including me, but his evidence yesterday, that he’s been told “The problem with you is you’re named Harry and you have a cockney accent”, will have the nation pondering if he’s another victim of the systemic prejudice against white, wealthy, indigenous-named, senior and successful people from London.  There must surely be a support group he can join.

I’m sure Harry’s innocence will be established but the law and tax authorities are right to pursue any doubt that exists in the running of the game, without fear or favour.  Where appropriate, pursue the guilty through criminal, not just civil, courts.  Only then will the innocent be sure of a level playing field. Lock ‘Em Up, as a Cockney may observe.

  1. Why would jelly ask for a transfer and give up 10% of the fee when he knows they are actively touting him to all and sundry? Does not make sense for him. Who knows he may even want to stay at Ipox?.stop laughing at the back.

Mr Z – there can be only one!

MWD – best wishes to Estadio and hope to see him back on here soon.

I would forget about any additional CH’s, we have more than enough and the priority is goals….we need a big feck off striker! As Lennybhoy has mentioned, a loan striker wouldn’t be a bad thing. The big decisions about permanent centre backs and strikers can wait until the summer transfer window, but we do need another striker option in the title run-in.

It would be completely irresponsible to think otherwise….I know I know!!

  8. Don’t rcall it was ever Paul67’s intention to set up a site whereby individuals can basically take the piss.

At each other and on any subject that pleases them.

No wonder the site has lost many of the best posters of old.

Remember being told that Ronald De Boer’s RFC contract (or one of them anyway!) had allegedly done the rounds of several Glasgow newspaper sportsdesks – supposedly he was only being paid a ‘nominal fee’ for his services.

  13. i watched A.C Milan v Lazio tonight.

Two points stuck out to me.

The first one is the rumors of Djibril Cisse coming in on loan. He started tonight for Lazio and all i thought was, Well not for me.

My second point is about Clarence Seedorf.

Now to let you guys know i would rate Seedorf as one the best players ive ever seen live, if not the best.

I was truly amazed when i watched him live. the guy is tactically spot and hardly ever makes mistakes on the field. A complete powerhouse of a player.

Wayne Rooney said that seedorf was the best player he had ever played against.

    So back to the point.

Victor Wanyama is Clarence Seedorfs love child :O)

  15. Evening all.

You know I’m here every day, not always posting but reading, chuckling and learning.

Have a quick favour to ask my iPhone (or otherwise, other phones are available, spit!) Celic app using friends.

I’m in the middle of adding automated push notifications so that goals, important news are pushed to the phone and adding game center so we can all track quiz scores etc in a far more professional looking manner, maybe add reward screens etc.

Anyway, the favour is this, I need to add to the quiz question bank, at the moment I only have around 40 questions in the two quizzes, 25 in General History and 15 in Not the Old Firm, this isn’t good enough. I’m adding a a few more quizzes over the weekend and wondered if anyone had some good questions and answers to drop in. Would thoroughly appreciate it.

You can always post back here or email me at keith @ myusername dot com.

Cheers as always guys, the app will always be free and add free so I make no money whatsoever so help is appreciated.

    HH!

I watched the game with my son and we cheered every pass and goal.

    A truly magnificent performance.
