Lock up game’s tax deviants

887

The football industry is busy with its twice-a-year transfer jamboree this week but there will scarcely be a player, manager or executive in the country who isn’t daily checking on Harry Redknapp’s on-going court case into his alleged tax arrangements.

Harry, of course, is one of the game’s popular figures, everyone likes him, including me, but his evidence yesterday, that he’s been told “The problem with you is you’re named Harry and you have a cockney accent”, will have the nation pondering if he’s another victim of the systemic prejudice against white, wealthy, indigenous-named, senior and successful people from London.  There must surely be a support group he can join.

I’m sure Harry’s innocence will be established but the law and tax authorities are right to pursue any doubt that exists in the running of the game, without fear or favour.  Where appropriate, pursue the guilty through criminal, not just civil, courts.  Only then will the innocent be sure of a level playing field. Lock ‘Em Up, as a Cockney may observe.

Didn’t like the look of it mate. I choose not to believe everything I read in the media so I don’t read any of them as quotes can be misinterpreted. Did he really say that about the same player, I have my doubts as there are two players with the same name.

There was a lot more to the deal that I believe we will never find out, just my opinion, so please don’t quoye me…lol…:)

I only tend to believe what people say when I hear it or read it in an official club publication or of course on CQN…:)

  10. just reading back there and i have to laugh when i see people talking about going with what we’ve got, now dont get me wrong if we cant get better than what we have up top then dont spend a penny on another squad player who will generally be no better than the young bhoys in the development team but with our scouting system we should and possibly have already identified several strikers of the type NL has suggested he requires. because even though i’ am all for our young players getting thier chance, i think there is a time and place to introduce them and its not the pressure of a title run in where the responsibility to score rests on their shoulders

1 quality striker during this window should increase the chances of sucess this year and thereafter. in the summer our squad will be much more balanced than it has been for several years and all efforts can be made to reduce the size considerably by freeing chavi, o’dea, loovens, thompson, dan, m.wilson, cha and work on selling mcginn, mccout, jaurez, murphy, radmussion, ki.

22 man squad supplimented by youth

    foster, zaluski

    mathews, lustig

    izzy, blackman

    charlie, rogne, wilson, polish defender

    ledley, kayal, victor

brown, forrest, commons, negerian bhoy, sammy

    hooper, stokes, bangurra, quality striker

youth players: frazer, keatings, george etc…

all monies saved on players wages used as and when required to improve contract of current players. all fees from player sales and european brought in used to build the celtic triange.

max of 3 players allowed to leave in any one season with other players identified on ongoing basis
