Look out for Cease and Desist orders

1238

The first thing you do when you raise an asset dispute is issue a Cease and Desist notice.  Inform the other party to stop using your asset, whether it is a piece of intellectual property, like a logo or badge, a piece of equipment or a physical property.

In conjunction with this you also ask for all monies collected in connection with your property to be forward to you.  Football clubs, for example, regularly instruct people, who produce merchandise with unauthorised copies of their club crests, to stop doing so, destroy all unused stock and send them whatever money earned from earlier sales.

If and when a claim reaches court, the first request to the judge is likely to be to freeze use of all assets and cough up cash from sales. Keep your eyes peeled…

CQN Nine-in-a-row Charity Golf Day 2013

Our Annual Charity Golf Day 2013 will take place on Friday 14th June at Aberdour Golf Club.  This is our 9th annual event and I’m delighted to announce that Lisbon Lion and nine-in-a-row striker, Willie Wallace, will be our guest of honour.

After winning everything available to him in Europe, Willie made a new life for himself in Australia, where he established a second career in the game, while retaining strong links to the Celtic ex-pat community.

We will be raising funds for the 125-4-125 appeal, while encouraging all Celtic fans to get involved and stake their claim on what this club is all about.  Cost for the day’s golf and the evening meal and entertainment is £80.  Cost for non-golfers is £45.

The Annual Charity Golf Day is always oversubscribed so get your application for a place in early by emailing, cqnopen2013@gmx.com.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Some people might say my life is in a rut,

But I’m quite happy with what I got

People might say that I should strive for more,

But I’m so happy I can’t see the point.

    Somethings happening here today

A show of strength with your boy’s brigade and,

I’m so happy and you’re so kind

You want more money – of course I don’t mind

And the public gets what the public wants

But I want nothing this society’s got –

Some people might get some pleasure out of hate

Me, I’ve enough already on my plate

People might need some tension to relax

Me, I’m too busy dodging between the flak

What you see is what you get

Getting a striker who can guarantee to score the goals at a price we can afford is critical and very difficult to get right. Neil Lennon has bought (or taken on loan) the following forwards for Celtic:

    Gary Hooper

    Anthony Stokes

    Daryll Murphy

    Tony Watt

    Mohamed Bangura

    Paweł Brożek

    Miku

    Lassad

I remember we were linked with Baba Diawara prior to signing Bangura and remember the outcry when we didn’t get him as he was seen as a top top prospect. He went to Seville a few months later but in 18 months has only played 27 games for them and scored 4 goals.

If we get £6m for Hooper, we could spend £6m and not get someone as good. I think we should try to keep our best players and build this team around them.

In addition to some of the strikers you mentioned, here are my favourites at the minute:

Jelle Vossen – 22 year old belgian playing for Genk. Has scored 82 goals in 180 games.

Carlos Bacca – 26 year old Columbian in his first full season in Europe plays for Brugges and has scored 22 goals in 25 league games this season.

Dieumerci Mbokani – 27 year old from Congo. Has scored 57 goals in 70 games for Anderlecht.

Alfreð Finnbogason – Played against us for Helsinborg in CL qualifier last summer before going to Herenveen in Holland where he has now scored 23 goals in 27 games.

There Ive named a better alternative manager, one who plays the creative football we can afford to try while we have what should be an easy SPL, leaving Athletic Club in the summer.

  8. EN, well said re defensive/offensive football. Most of the time it’s 3 of Ledley/Kayal/Wanyama/Mulgrew/brown in Midfield. Hardly creative.

Would love to see Dylan in a centre role. Now is the time for this.

Exactly, Ive a feeling if you gave the manager a Riquelme, Totti, Ozil, Lubo type player he would stuggle to fit him in the team, too scared to give up the two/three defensive midfielders we go with, and still fail with.

Last I checked we had 54 goals, 3 from assists from central midfield, Adam Mathews or Chico Muldini has supplied most assists, Chico Muldini is our main play maker, center half/full back. Cant be bothered checking again to see how it has continued. Buy hey we are all Neil Lennon, yeee this is fun.

  13. Petec,

You’re 100% correct about John Park….he could be the most important person at Parkhead right now!!

    Allgreen,

Kind of agree re Izzy……maybe he is a better winger. He is weak at times at left back, particularly with crosses to the back post…..but at other times Benfica and Juventus he has been very good.

    Mort,

Good points. Thanks for adding to my list of strikers. I do see what you mean about Lennon’s record…….but i have faith in him to put this right though.

Bangura has to be one of the strangest signings we’ve made. He has been absolutely hopeless when he’s played. But then you look at his record in Sweden and it was only average. Surely if we are going to sign a striker from a lower level league he should be prolific at that level (like the guys we’ve both listed). They may not end up being successful but it’s a calculated gamble. I can’t really see the rationale of signing a player with an average record in a poorer league….it just seems to defy logic

I’ve never heard of any of these strikers who are being proposed as purchases – do I need to buy a PS3 and start playing FIFA 13?

  16. Or did Charlie Chalk turn up in his birthday suit? Coz it looks like St Mirren could have provided him with the whole shabang! Looks too smart to be one of his own.

  17. niallo83

We need a striker who offers something different to what we have. We won’t see Bangura or Murphy again, Miku will return to sender and Hooper will leave. The question marks are over Stokes & Lassad.

Niklas Helenius would be ideal and fits our signing MO of young, talented, hungry, can be developed to sell on. A 6’5″ striker who is good on the deck we would have someone to get on the end of the crosses that we get into the box. Problem with Helenius is that EPL clubs are interested so his price could move out of our range. As an alternative Jozy Altidore has had a couple of very good seasons with Alkmaar in Holland.

  21. Your a brave man putting out your opinion on a manager whoo is beyond reproach to most Celtic fans.

I agree on a lot of your points though I think caution is only part of the problem.

I think he struggles to implement complete systems and that’s why we are so erratic and often have to rely on individual moments to win games.’

Don’t think it would matter if we signed Riquelme,Pirlo or still had Lubo as they would not figur much with our cautious approach.Likewise a great striker as our service to the forwards is almost non existent.

  22. Estadio Nacional

The closest we have is Commons, and the manager plays him every chance he gets. He has at times gone 3-4-3 this season, just to get Commons a free role. He has experimented with a whole variety of formations to get Commons in a central position in the team. There is an argument as to whether Commons is good enough, but I don’t think Lennon can be criticised for being hesitant to introduce creativity into his central midfield.

These were, however, valid criticisms of O’Neill and Strachan.

Fair points but how much does Commons create? For me he doesnt look up, first thought is to see what he can do for himself, usually to try a shot. Agree tyhe manager trys to squeeze him in but he does the same with Chico Muldini as he is the main playmaker, we rely on set peices to create things, thats why CM is squeezed into the team. For me thats wrong.

I am somewhat surprised to discover that, in addition to being once again named Sports News Writer of the Year at the Scottish Press Awards last night, Keith Jackson was runner up in the category of “Scoop of the Year”.

Scoop of the Year is awarded to the writer of the story that the Scottish Press collectively considers to be the best example investigative or news breaking journalism.

Jackson’s winning piece, “Whyte, The Fans and The Cash For Gers” was published in January 2012, and relates the story of how Craig Whyte mortgaged future years’ season tickets to raise the funds for his purchase of the club the previous May.

My surprise is piqued because I read the story first on the RTC blog on the 5th June 2011, and the subsequent analysis of the deal and its impact on Rangers’ short and medium term cash flow, provided by site contributors over the following 2 weeks.

7 months late with the news! Is this what counts as a ‘Scoop’ in Scotland’s printed Press these days?

You’re really gonna have to up your game fellas!

Agree, Gary Hooper is currently getting slated but if he is not getting service what can he do? If he is not being motivated by the manager what can he do? He should motive himself but the team struggles with motivation regularly, thats not Gary Hoopers fault.
