Look out for Cease and Desist orders

1238

The first thing you do when you raise an asset dispute is issue a Cease and Desist notice.  Inform the other party to stop using your asset, whether it is a piece of intellectual property, like a logo or badge, a piece of equipment or a physical property.

In conjunction with this you also ask for all monies collected in connection with your property to be forward to you.  Football clubs, for example, regularly instruct people, who produce merchandise with unauthorised copies of their club crests, to stop doing so, destroy all unused stock and send them whatever money earned from earlier sales.

If and when a claim reaches court, the first request to the judge is likely to be to freeze use of all assets and cough up cash from sales. Keep your eyes peeled…

CQN Nine-in-a-row Charity Golf Day 2013

Our Annual Charity Golf Day 2013 will take place on Friday 14th June at Aberdour Golf Club.  This is our 9th annual event and I’m delighted to announce that Lisbon Lion and nine-in-a-row striker, Willie Wallace, will be our guest of honour.

After winning everything available to him in Europe, Willie made a new life for himself in Australia, where he established a second career in the game, while retaining strong links to the Celtic ex-pat community.

We will be raising funds for the 125-4-125 appeal, while encouraging all Celtic fans to get involved and stake their claim on what this club is all about.  Cost for the day’s golf and the evening meal and entertainment is £80.  Cost for non-golfers is £45.

The Annual Charity Golf Day is always oversubscribed so get your application for a place in early by emailing, cqnopen2013@gmx.com.

Look forward to seeing you there.

  3. So what does everyone think re squad reshaping in the summer.

I reckon even with the Champions League run this year Lennon won’t get much of a transfer budget (maybe 2m). Since he’s been in charge he’s spent about 17m and brought in around 24m in transfer fees. I think it’s highly likely that this policy will remain but he probably will get a little bit of money this year.

I think the following players are definitely leaving (Rogne, Miku, Murphy and McCourt). I would imagine we will try and get rid of Lassad too but seen as he signed a 2 year contract he may be hard to shift.

I would also imagine that Hooper will leave. He seems to want to try his luck in the EPL and best of luck to him. He’s given us 3 good years, scored lots of goals and scored lots of important goals (i.e. in the Champions League and against Rangers the first). It will be interesting to see how much we get for him…..probably something in the region of 6.0m-7.5m).

Lennon should definitely be given all this money to re-invest in the team. If he does he should end up with a transfer kitty of about 9m (2m + 7m sale of Hooper).

So what do we need to get with that 9m? I would use it to buy a left back, centre back, left winger and striker. From what I can see we have been linked with two left backs Oshinawa (Nigerian guy who plays for the same Israeli club Ambrose did) and Alonso from Bolton. Neither of these would cost a lot (Alonso is available on a free)….maybe 0.75m at worst. Whoever we sign they will be coming as back up to Izaguirre initially.

We have also been linked with two left wingers (Tonev and Mackay Steven) and the price for either is around 2m. Either of these guys would be a good signing.

That leaves 6.25m for a striker and centre back and these are the two most critical buys. I’m not sure about centre backs but there are definitely some really good young strikers out there in the 2.5m-4m bracket. You’ve got players like Vydra and Austin (would probably be too expensive for us) in the Championship. And there are bound to be some good young strikers in Europe. Some examples would be Philipp Hosiner (23 – Austria Vienna – 35 goals in 39 games), Andreas Cornelius (20 – Copenhagen – 25 goals in 46 games), Niklas Helenius (21 – Aalborg – 15 goals in 33 games), Salim Cisse (20 – Academica (Portugal) – 8 goals in 31 games). I’m not saying we should or will sign any of these. They are just some of the options to replace Hooper.

Wages wise we would be losing 6 players (including a couple of high earners such as Miku and Hooper) and replacing them with 4. In theory this should balance out.

Anyway the whole point of the article is that there is no reason why we can’t improve again next season, even if one or two first team players leave. Adequate replacements are out there, we just need to sign the right targets. In fairness, with the exception of Bangura, Juarez and Murphy we have largely managed this since Lennon took over.

As I mentioned to you yesterday, there is no doubt Longmuir + Bannatyne are hatching a plan for SevCo to skip a league. The reason for this is that they both know they cannot survive 2 more years in the lower divisions.

While the SPL cannot do anything regards the SFL reconstructing their own leagues, what they can do something about is promotion to the SPL. With pressure from the fans of all the clubs ( bar Kilmarnock probably) the SPL could vote for no relegation from the league for 1 season to ensure justice is served.

No attempt by the SPL clubs to stop a process which is effectively cheating, would be seen by myself as complicit in tHe whole charade.

I think this close season will be a very exciting time for Celtic. Neil now has the chance to bring in Quality experience, IMO.

Lockdown John Park though, make sure he is rewarded with a bumper contract. I think every Celt realises now why he was talking to the Rookie Manager at Hampden, Neil knows he is World Class.

    Good morning CQNers,

Reviewing the overnight posts I’ve gotta say I agree with the thrust of Estadio Nacional’s posts on Neil Lennon.

Specifically Estadio Nacional concentrated the thrust of his argument on NL’s perseverance with the defensive set-up of the midfield and he’s dead right. For too long we’ve had a mid-field set up to play in exactly the same defensive role as the manager in his playing days.

By no stretch of the imagination could we say the current Celtic team is progressive, yes there have been some tremendous results this season and personally I’d place the result in Moscow alongside the Barcelona games, but equally there have been too many abject performances in the SPL and cup games. Basically I see NL teams perform best when they need to produce a defensive display but they flounder too often when required to produce attacking performances

Understandably there is a lot of emotional support for Neil Lennon because of the outrageous physical and institutional attacks on him, and again yesterday the SFA have made another shameful decision but these emotional attachments need to be separated when judging the team’s performance.

Neil Lennon and Celtic can wrap up the league this Sunday and we should celebrate but equally we mustn’t delude ourselves about the true worth of our team.

  8. niallo83

I would like to bring in a first choice left back and play Izzy wide left in midfield. Sunday was another example of what you get from Izzy, defensively average good going forward.

We need to do something to add a bit of physicality up front and at centre back.

We don’t have a controlling madman at centre back and up front we need a pacy strong striker. Samaras isn’t the player we need for this role, he’s too inconsistent and doesn’t score enough.

I think Wanyama will go but we should at least get good money for him. To be fair there isn’t a player I would keep of good offers come in.

    No more heroes CSC.

  9. Neil said he knows Celtic from the Top to the Bottom.

Thought it was strange that the Chairman of an SPL side would be discussing players wages with a club in the third division who are known to be wanting to buy up SPL quality players.

  17. Go and have a look at the pics of Green at St Mirren. There was no way he arrived without a tie. He was wearing quite formal clothes with a white shirt. Are we to believe it was open necked when he arrived? Total rubbish.

  18. Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo on

If I was in the jury I would be thinking Mr. Campbell has just perjured himself. Why is Charles Greens appearance their responsibility. Was the St. Mirren tie designed to aggravate or perplex Peter Lawwell. If so why ?

Because I dont rate the manager and have an honest opinion on him ‘I miss the huns’ Aye ok Keevins, thats what it is, we shouldnt critisise the manager and expect better from him sorry. We are all Neil Lennon, yee c’mon the Ginger Irish man, keep trying to learn your trade, we will support you whatever, yeah yeah. And we laugh at the muck with swally mccoist?

Who would I replace the manager with? Plenty, I wont list them, but while we have time and a bit of freedom to experiment Im willing to give him another season see if he learns to motivate and can try creative football, a big ask but we can afford to give him one more season. To be playing two defensive midfielders, and relying on fullbacks or a fat shoot from anywhere winger in what should be an easy SPL it fearsome clueless football. We have the freedom to play creative entertaining football, the manager has no creative skills what so ever and he cannot motivate the team.

If people like your mate keevins are saying attendances are dropping due to lack of competition maybe attractive football would get folk through the gates. I’ll be honest I dont leave work early to go home and watch Celtic TV any more as the ‘football’ is gash, utter gash at times. To me thats the manager buy hey we are all Neil Lennon, yeee this is fun.
