The first thing you do when you raise an asset dispute is issue a Cease and Desist notice. Inform the other party to stop using your asset, whether it is a piece of intellectual property, like a logo or badge, a piece of equipment or a physical property.
In conjunction with this you also ask for all monies collected in connection with your property to be forward to you. Football clubs, for example, regularly instruct people, who produce merchandise with unauthorised copies of their club crests, to stop doing so, destroy all unused stock and send them whatever money earned from earlier sales.
If and when a claim reaches court, the first request to the judge is likely to be to freeze use of all assets and cough up cash from sales. Keep your eyes peeled…
CQN Nine-in-a-row Charity Golf Day 2013
Our Annual Charity Golf Day 2013 will take place on Friday 14th June at Aberdour Golf Club. This is our 9th annual event and I’m delighted to announce that Lisbon Lion and nine-in-a-row striker, Willie Wallace, will be our guest of honour.
After winning everything available to him in Europe, Willie made a new life for himself in Australia, where he established a second career in the game, while retaining strong links to the Celtic ex-pat community.
We will be raising funds for the 125-4-125 appeal, while encouraging all Celtic fans to get involved and stake their claim on what this club is all about. Cost for the day’s golf and the evening meal and entertainment is £80. Cost for non-golfers is £45.
The Annual Charity Golf Day is always oversubscribed so get your application for a place in early by emailing, cqnopen2013@gmx.com.
Look forward to seeing you there.

May I just say I love your Faith.
It is inspirational.
Aidan lost sight for a few seconds in school and almost fainted apparently his lips went green as well at this time (he did vomit), the Doctor said it was because he was static in his class standing up, I find this stuff hard to believe.

I would also bar the over 65′s from voting (controversial ? moi?)
Scotland is full of auld bigots, it is also full of ‘exciting’ inspirational people.
We need to get the former ousted from political power and replaced by the latter.
You will not get that by voting no.
Who, with a modicum of intelligence and ethics would sully themselves by engaging in the present political system? The simple answer is they don’t.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I’ve got a modicum of intelligence and would not sully myself but I’m over 65. So am I oot or am I in? ;)

Youre entitled to your own opinion but I dont share it,,and I would hazard a guess that the majority of our fans dont. Seems like youre stating your opinion as fact.

Both the nurse at Hairmyres and the person at Greenhills HC told Aidan’s Mum that things look fine.
I really appreciate your concern.
What was really interesting was that the common consensus amongst anyone Karen spoke to was that Every Child should be given an ECG.
It is scarey, especially when you are sent for one as a precaution. It is also a massive relief when the people that are in the know say things look ok.

Morning,all.
Seems the blog has been in an argumentative mood in the last few days-and I wisnae even to blame!
I’m not gonna stir the politics, but EN’s attacks on Neil Lennon last night were poorly timed, and way off the mark,IMO.
I’ll give a comparison-the much-vaunted EPL.
Their product is turgid-even their top teams had me reaching for the off-switch so often,I finally cancelled SKY altogether!
Looking at their better, haha, teams,I would barely cross the road to watch them.
Liverpool,Everton and WBA are all teams who have too little flair or consistency.
Chelsea don’t get me outa my seat except to bugger off to the pub.
Arsenal and Man City really are rudderless,as one tries hard to be successful and frugal, while the other buys players but not a team. Both fall between two stools, something I might be doing myself on the 27th…..
Take Gareth Bale outa Spurs, and you have the simple task of beating a mid-table outfit.
Man Utd?
Their worst team in years, and I defy anyone to argue with that.
All of the above have spent considerably more money than Neil Lennon has. All of them have more players to choose from.
None of them has to work in such a personally and professionally hostile environment.
Yet,says ESTADIO NACIONAL,Neil Lennon is a dud,a failure.
Not up to the job.
ESTADIO NACIONAL,your comments last night disappointed me,though I don’t doubt your passion, nor deny your right to hold those opinions
Me,I’ll take that dud-our dud-any day of the week!

Agree completely about Lenny.
Not the time to be having a go just after the Star Chamber have issued their latest indictment and sentence.
However,I was amazed that Lenny made no defensive change against D.Utd., when it was obvious to me after two minutes that it was not fit for purpose.

I was surprised too,but he is entitled to his opinion.
I’ve got mine,and I qualified it better,I think.
EN on the other hand has yet to suggest an alternative to our current manager.
Not that I WANT alternatives to be suggested-there is no vacancy!
Me,I’ll be giving the team and the manager my support on Sunday. So will Estadio Nacional,I reckon.

I wouldn`t have substituted, but I would have moved some “assets” to more defensive positions.
“What we have we hold.”(With an N.I. accent)
Adrenaline rush? More like cardiac arrest.
The following is a prediction. It is not based on inside information, merely the result of observing the actions of Longmuir and Ballantyne since this saga started
1 The SFL will bring forward a proposal to reorganize their own leagues only
2 This will not involve the SFA or the SPL, who have no authority over the SFL
3 The SFL will move from 3 divisions to 2
4 The SFL wil move to an 18-12 two tier league
5 The top tier of 18 will include all clubs who finished in positions 2-10 of the current SFL 1
6 The top tier of 18 will include all Clubs who finished in positions 1-7of SFL 2
7 The top tier of 18 will include the winners of SFL 3 (Rangers)
8 The relegated club from the SPL (Dundee)
The justifications will include
A) Bigger League, because that’s what the fans want
B) All division winning clubs are rewarded with a promotion
C) Opportunity for improved TV contract, because of better inventory
D) Opportunity for more clubs to benefit from Revenues derived from Rangers away support, which would be important whilst all League bodies work towards improved financial flow through model
The SFA could not veto this, and the SPL have no say, and some ( many) clubs in the SPL would be secretly delighted. The media would fall over themselves to support it , and those who complained about not changing the rules mid season would develop selective amnesia
So , who might vote for it now
Clubs 2-10 may well vote yes, as this is effectively SPL 2, with the benefit of a home game against Rangers. Given most of these clubs have a capacity for 6,000 away fans, and a price of £20 would be possible, then £120 K + catering revenues would be welcome. Rangers might even guarantee to buy the maximum allocation of away tickets as part of the proposal
Clubs 1-7 in SFL 2 currently. They would be one step away from the SPL, and still get their Rangers visit
Rangers ( although they don’t have a vote, it suits them perfectly)
The relegated club from SFL 2 , as they would be in the bottom tier anyway
So, who would be potential No votes
The clubs who will finish in positions 2-9 in SFL 3 this season. However they wouldn’t lose out in any way from the reconstruction , so may be persuaded to vote yes , for “the good of the game”
Clubs who finished in positions 8 and 9 in SFL 2
As I said at the start, it’s a prediction, but it ticks most of the boxes that suit Longmuir and Ballantyne and could have a strong chance of getting the 75% approval required

Interesting BarcaBhoy
One small thing – do you think the Current Blue mob’s squad would win that division?
There is enough evidence to suggest they’d struggle.
After all only one team can come into the SPL under current rules and even if the SFL ratified that kind of plan I don’t think any of us could say with any certainty with their current squad they’d be a shoe in.
And then there are the other things surrounding the circus that is thems.
Barcabhoy
Your cognitive reasoning is as always very impressive.
One thing to consider.
The SFL clubs were persuaded to support the now failed reconstruction,
because Celtic were going to share more of it’s revenues with them.
This money was a huge sweetener.
It would no longer be on the table.
This would come down to the press gang powers of Longmuir and the Airdrie Zombie.

The teams voting Rangers into a league of 18 will be voting themselves ONE home game against them instead of two.
Apart from that,it looks all too effin’ plausible.
I think that wis a German sausage I was on about at 7:29
Morning,
Topping let’s every know about Gilmour and his agenda.
DEPARTING Scottish Premier League
chairman Ralph Topping has stepped
in to the reconstruction debate to
deliver a strong defence of Neil
Doncaster, after the chief executive
had his worth questioned by St Mirren
chairman Stewart Gilmour.
The fall-out has continued after
Monday’s no vote, when the
resistance of two out of 12 clubs
stymied the entire reconstruction
project at the first hurdle.
Margaret Thatcher’s re-working of
the prayer of St Francis has been
often-quoted in recent days:
“Where there is discord, may we
bring harmony”. The opposite has
occurred where the SPL is
concerned of late.
As recently as January, all 12 club
chairmen and owners announced
they had unanimously agreed to
further explore the 12-12-18 league
proposal, with all that it entailed,
including wealth redistribution.
Three months later, such harmony
has given way to very public
discord, with Roy MacGregor, the
Ross County chairman, and Gilmour
having joined forces to block
change.
Topping struggles to understand the
reason, particularly as a concession
to the divisive 11-1 voting structure
for league reconstruction was
unexpectedly offered, meaning that
change could be voted through
again after only two years.
Now there is the threat of clubs
boycotting certain boardrooms
before and after games as the SPL
recommences following a weekend
break. Topping, who was yesterday
taking a brief break from his day
job as chief executive of William
Hill to speak to The Scotsman, has
been angered by the personal
nature of the insults aimed at
Doncaster, including those from
within the SPL itself. Given
Gilmour’s recent comments, it
should be obvious to whom Topping
is referring, even though he
declines to name the club.
“I don’t mind people acting out of
principle but I don’t like people
trying to deflect attention from
themselves by focusing on the chief
executive, who carries the support
of the majority of the people
around the meeting table,” said
Topping. “There may be one club
who have consistently criticised the
chief executive without articulating
properly where they think that
chief executive is going wrong.
“That is one of the problems you
have. People who are not articulate
or straight enough to describe what
they are looking for and why they
don’t think they are getting it.”
Doncaster does not have a vote,
points out Topping. “He is almost
like a company secretary, because
he does not have power,” he says.
“He is up here, with wife and two
kids, and he has to put up with that
nonsense, when he should be
supported. It should be clearly
recognised that he has the support
of the biggest clubs in Scotland –
and I would say 11 out of 12 clubs
support Neil Doncaster.”
The actions of two men in particular
dismayed Topping as he looked on
from his chairman’s seat on
Monday. He has time for both
Gilmour and MacGregor personally
but, when it came to the business of
saving Scottish football, he felt that
they let themselves – and the game
– down.
He was confident that something he
refers to as “the Frank Haffey
proposal” would succeed in
bringing the clubs back together,
and sweep away the remaining
resistance. Haffey, now forever cast
as a hapless Scottish goalkeeper,
conceded nine goals against
England in 1961, with Scotland
managing to net only three times in
reply. “The sad reality for Scottish
football is that the voting structure
on league structure certainly has to
change,” says Topping. “And this
was a massive concession by Celtic
Football Club and by Aberdeen
Football Club.”
Both Peter Lawwell, the Celtic chief
executive and Aberdeen owner
Stewart Milne were taken into a
side-room on Monday and implored
to abandon their resistance to this –
which they did. “It was a wonderful
opportunity, which has fallen by the
wayside,” says Topping. “I do not
think it will ever come back.
“Unless there is a consensus you
have no change and nothing is
going to change,” he adds. “I
remember the 9-3 with Frank
Haffey being a disaster for
Scotland. Well, this is another
disaster for Scotland – not accepting
the 9-3.”
According to Topping, the reason
for Gilmour’s opposition remained
“imprecise”. He added: “About the
only thing that was not raised [by St
Mirren] was the North Korea
situation”.
As chief executive of a business that
recently posted a £227.7m profit,
Topping is well-qualified to pass
comment on the boardroom
behaviour that he witnessed this
week. “Roy MacGregor is one of the
nicest guys in football, he is a smart
guy and an intelligent guy as well,”
said Topping. “The fact of life
around a boardroom in a business
is that you go with a consensus. If
you have ten colleagues on a board
and they are saying this is the right
direction then, in a business, in a
big company, you never have a vote
– you go with a consensus.
“The consequences are what we are
seeing now,” he adds. “We are
seeing fractious behaviour,
disjointed responses.
“It is not quite civil war, but we are
seeing antipathy, and people talking
about not going into directors’
boxes. All that is wrong. You have
to manage to the consensus. And
you have to be prepared to
modernise and change. That was
the biggest disappointment – there
was the flexibility to change in two
years’ time if it wasn’t deemed to be
working.”
Topping has already announced
that he will not be seeking re-
election at the SPL general meeting
in July. He is departing with some
understandable frustration but he
has not yet abandoned all hope
when it comes to the thorny issue of
restructuring the game. “I think it
would be hard to get around a table
but not impossible,” he says. “But I
would not like to see relationships
deteriorate further, because then it
would be impossible.”
“I think it is a shame there is so
much soreness being exhibited
publicly but, hey, that’s football,” he
added.
But football is not just about the SPL
and, although some are relieved
that the “middle eight” concept has
been shelved, Topping points to the
William Hill-sponsored Scottish Cup
as illustrating how exhilarating it is
for both fans and broadcasters
when games are invested with
meaning. That, he reflected, was
what commended the middle eight
proposal.
That pair of thrilling Scottish Cup
semi-finals also helped reaffirm
Topping’s faith in the game – and
could have gone a long way to
earning the tournament a further
financial boost.
“We are delighted with the Scottish
Cup because it consists of
meaningful matches and we are
putting a lot into the community. I
would like to think that that will
continue long after I leave the
position of chief executive, which
won’t be for a while,” says Topping.
That hints at William Hill extending
their sponsorship of the Cup after
the current deal expires next year.
It is a much-needed boost after
another trying week for the Scottish
game.
