Look out for Cease and Desist orders

1238

The first thing you do when you raise an asset dispute is issue a Cease and Desist notice.  Inform the other party to stop using your asset, whether it is a piece of intellectual property, like a logo or badge, a piece of equipment or a physical property.

In conjunction with this you also ask for all monies collected in connection with your property to be forward to you.  Football clubs, for example, regularly instruct people, who produce merchandise with unauthorised copies of their club crests, to stop doing so, destroy all unused stock and send them whatever money earned from earlier sales.

If and when a claim reaches court, the first request to the judge is likely to be to freeze use of all assets and cough up cash from sales. Keep your eyes peeled…

CQN Nine-in-a-row Charity Golf Day 2013

Our Annual Charity Golf Day 2013 will take place on Friday 14th June at Aberdour Golf Club.  This is our 9th annual event and I’m delighted to announce that Lisbon Lion and nine-in-a-row striker, Willie Wallace, will be our guest of honour.

After winning everything available to him in Europe, Willie made a new life for himself in Australia, where he established a second career in the game, while retaining strong links to the Celtic ex-pat community.

We will be raising funds for the 125-4-125 appeal, while encouraging all Celtic fans to get involved and stake their claim on what this club is all about.  Cost for the day’s golf and the evening meal and entertainment is £80.  Cost for non-golfers is £45.

The Annual Charity Golf Day is always oversubscribed so get your application for a place in early by emailing, cqnopen2013@gmx.com.

Look forward to seeing you there.

  1. John O’Neil – I am quite proud of Celtic’s effort to redistribute wealth in scottish footy. Just a piity they dont show the same respect to their support

‘OK Scotland is a smaller entity and you might feel more significant ‘

Ye might even feel your vote is relevant, this might even lead to better minds engaging in politics than do presently. That’s what I am going on, a hope. It is more inspiring (perhaps falsely) than the depressing mantra of ‘better the devil you know’.

There is a year to go, I will turn you yet big yin!

    That’s irrelevant to my point.

Anti Catholicism exists in England. Would you agree?’

Firstly the issue in Scotland isn’t anti Catholicism per se, it’s anti Irish Catholic sectarianism. They’re different issues.

Anti Catholicism exists just about everywhere.

The extent and depth of anti Catholic feeling in England is just not on the same scale as what we have here. It’s daft to pretend otherwise.

  4. leftclicktic there are a great many drongoes among the huns but generally the population of Scotland is educated and able to think.

The potential is there, if not the confidence.

  5. Hamiltontim – whatever their reasons -anti catholic bigotry remains rife in scotland and is now enshrined in law…..

Sectarian majority? Do you think this country is akin to the old Yugoslavia?

Ernie Lynch, one assumes that the country you lived in had no internal bigotry?

Just noting the sevco5088 share price dipping below 59. Can we run a sweepstake on cqn to see what date the share price dips below the ambient temperature in Hamilton?

Did English cities not have ‘No Irish’ displayed in bars/hotels/B&Bs etc?

I’m not claiming it’s as prevalent as up here, I’m merely highlighting its existence. It would be daft to pretend otherwise.

  15. HT,

agreed. There is still an element of anti-catholicism down there too.

Just nowhere near as rampant as up here.

I must admit though, that there is a marked difference in what i would term “normal” society in West Central Scotland now, in terms of attitudes towards the whole Catholic/Proddy “thing”, than there was 25 years ago when I was growing up.

I saw mention earlier of the wearing of celtic strip/colours as being dangerous.

My old man would not allow me to wear any Celtic colours when growing up in Wishaw, until I was 16 and even then i was advised to watch where and when I showed my colours for my own safety.

I was threatened, had bricks thrown at me and “chased” on many occasions for doing just that. Even by guys I knew personally, but in that hun pack-mentality, they “got caught up in it all” as I was told once when I later challenged a “team-mate” on this.

I have to concede that I dont think the same “dangers” are around now as back then in the 80s and even 90s.

Or perhaps being ensconced in Carfin as I am now, I am sheltered from it all?

“It is more inspiring (perhaps falsely) than the depressing mantra of ‘better the devil you know’.”

That’s really just a question of temperament. we all need a balance of stable predictability and new excitements. Change can be a negative as well as a positive experience but, unless it is inevitable, I prefer to have informed reasons to change.

English football commentators annoy me with their condescension and parochial references but then, so do Scottish ones for broadly similar reasons.

With over a year to go, I am afraid that we are in for a re-run of 1979 as despite changes in Government in Scotland, the level of support for Independence has remained remarkably stable as has the opposition.

I fear the fall outs will be more dramatic than the result.

  23. Estradiol Nacional, easy peaty, two in a row.

Would have been three if not for Cheats FC, last 16, Celtic 2-1 Barcelona.

Faults, no doubt, don’t all managers, remember Celtic 1-4 Partick Thistle?

Had Big Jock lost it, do we need a change? Don’t for a minute think no-one was asking that question then.

Rangers5-1 Celtic, MON’s second game against Rangers, flash in the pan? That was a question I remember at the time. Both were experienced managers before they became Celtic Manager, so was he(NFL) a rookie, yes, will he make mistakes, yes, will he be successful, you betcha.

    Hope that answers the question.

  25. Independence is not a plebiscite in a year’s time or electing a government for 5 years after that..

It’s about the next 50 yrs. Building a society we can be proud of.

It’s one thing I’ve always envied the Dutch. When they talk about their country and society they’re talking about what they have built from scratch since the War. That’s one reason why they don’t come across as nationalists or chauvinists.
