Looking for sharpness and formation variations

436

After a solid, if not unapproachable, home win last week, expectations are high that Celtic will qualify for the next round of the Champions League qualifiers in some comfort tonight.  Beyond the result, the area of most interest is the increase in sharpness, particularly in front of goal.

A week is a long time in preseason.  The players will be rested after the first leg and have had more conditioning sessions before leaving for Iceland.  Pay attention to any changes in formation.  Ronny slipped into a 4-4-2 briefly early in the second half last week.  I expect him to experiment a bit like this tonight.

What you say is true. .but boring. We need controversy

That said it would be great to see ciftci score

  2. I agree with most of the comments about Griffiths. He’s the man at the moment. Seems he is getting dropped so we can shoehorn our new signing in.

I thought Collins’ narrative was a bit insulting. ‘Sure Cifti is suspended….but only from those piddly SPFL games. Griff can play in these. Cifti will be fresh for the really important games…’

I hope the wee man keeps his head down and keeps battering in the goals.

That being said, I understand these of Mulgrew tonight……..

  3. Great side. Only controversy is Charlie for Izzy. I love Izzy but he can be a liability at the back, has Charlie done enough to replace him?. Not sure but Ronny made the call and that’s that. Strong bench as well. Lets go Bhoys, score early and make it a relaxing evening.

Just cos you didn’t get to strut yer stuff round George Square at the end of last season dinnae be doing it now!

Its good to have choices and there is logic in Ciftci starting.

    Feel really sorry for Griffs.

Seems to be the guy who always loses out.

mon Dieu, I think that’s got to be the THE worst example of succulent lamb, intelligence insulting “journalism” ever, even for Sevco/ the dead ones before them. It seems their (grand) master (seriously, could King look any more the part?) has an even lower opinion of their intelligence than the rest of us. As Andrew Marr, sorry Jim White observed, an amazing wine collection comprising 35,000 premium bottles. Enough for 2 each for their loyal season ticket holders. He should give them to them as a reward for their blind, misplaced loyalty. Fools…

It’s good to have choices but it’s a crazy decision. And we all know it. But it’s ronny our glorious leader
