Looking for sharpness and formation variations

436

After a solid, if not unapproachable, home win last week, expectations are high that Celtic will qualify for the next round of the Champions League qualifiers in some comfort tonight.  Beyond the result, the area of most interest is the increase in sharpness, particularly in front of goal.

A week is a long time in preseason.  The players will be rested after the first leg and have had more conditioning sessions before leaving for Iceland.  Pay attention to any changes in formation.  Ronny slipped into a 4-4-2 briefly early in the second half last week.  I expect him to experiment a bit like this tonight.

  7. Stanly Sceptre: I’m glad you and your friend appreciate the badges.

WITS: thanks for giving Mighty Tim that advice.

Mighty Tim: the name of the GAA club is Craobh Chiaráin (pronounced crave Kieran), on Dublin’s Northside, in Donnycarney, Dublin 9. New postcodes are being introduced but at the moment Northside districts are denoted by odd numbers (D1, D3 etc) and south side districts have even numbers (D2, D4 etc). Districts 1, 3, 5, & 11 are all close to the venue ( and city centre) while in the south side districts 2, 4 & 8 are all convenient to the city centre and not too far from Donnycarney.

3 – 0 to the ghood ghuys tonight. It will be interesting to see if Bhoyata partners Virgil and how they fare. I’d start with Griffiths up front and bring Ciftci on as soon as the game is secure.

CELTIC Chief Executive Peter Lawwell has been re-elected as a Scottish FA Board director at a Professional Game Board (PGB) meeting at Hampden today.

The Celtic CEO was previously elected to the main board in 2013 and has been a member of the 11-man PGB since its creation in 2011.

Very sad that Sky have an ‘exclusive’ with GLIB on a CL day, no wonder Celtic fans are ditching this channel.

Don’t know how close Celtic were to signing Jelle Vossen this summer but I noticed he’s already injured, calf, which meant he didn’t travel with his Burnley team-mates this week. Bullet dodged for us.

Wee Barry Bawbags describes his favourite Castlemilk born Glib and Shameless Liar:

He even took me down to see his wine cellar. I never plucked up the courage to ask him how much some of those bottles were worth but he could probably have bought and sold Charles Green and Craig Whyte combined with the contents of one of his cabinets. And even though he had something like 10 chefs and 14 servants and a small lake in his back garden, he struck me as just a normal, down-to-earth guy. He’s a self-made man. Deep down he’s still a Rangers fan from Castlemilk.

  18. Just how many times can one crowd buy a “monorail” copyright the simpsons, who have never been liquidated so could still call themselves simpsons but chose not to.

  19. Just watched TGSL being interviewed on Sky Sports News. A couple of things stuck out – he is emphasising that sevco fans must spend their money on the team rather than himself.

The other thing is the length of the interview shown, around six minutes. Great publicity if you are a sevco fan but surely other clubs ought to be concerned at such favourable free publicity?

  20. in the spirit of balanced opinion – i actually think Dave King is spot on! The deal they struck with Ashley benefits neither party as long as a boycott continues. Unless of course , Ashley plans to starve them of revenue and get his hands on bigger assets!

  21. Thank you Bourne so very much.

Just tried your interesting menu combination and am now, unsurprisingly, barred for life from my local and expected to pay to have my barstool either recovered or incinerated.

  22. Off topic, booked for Beach Rotana in Abu Dhabi, anybody know anything about this hotel, thanks in advance

  23. I wonder what the hourly rate is for a servant (boy) in ole SA?

I’m sure his Glibness is paying a living wage.

  24. Stebhoy

The deal suits Mike Ashley perfectly. He gets money from the sales, he gets money from the unsold stock and he gets money from selling the already paid for unsold stock on his bargain rails too. The only person not happy with this deal is his glib and shamelessnes, who wishes he had got there first.
