LUSTIG’S SWEDISH SETBACK

CELTIC defender Mikael Lustig has confirmed he has been forced to pull out of the Sweden international squad after being injured in the 3-0 win over Inverness Caley Thistle.
The right-back will miss the crucial World Cup qualifier against France in Paris on Friday and the friendly in Hungary a week tomorrow.
Lustig, who was left with an injured foot after a crunching tackle in only 13 minutes against the Highlanders at Parkhead on Saturday, told the Swedish media: “Sorry, I will not being going, I’ll be staying at home in Glasgow.
“I did a have a scan which showed nothing serious, but it’s bad enough that I can’t play for seven to 10 days.”
The versatile back-four operator could even be struggling to turn out for the champions who will face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in the live televised game a week on Friday.
Certainly, his absence will be a massive blow for his country as they attempt to take something from the clash in the French capital in their bid to reach Russia 2018. Holland are also in the group and there is only one automatic qualifying place.
