SHEFFIELD UNITED are poised to launch a second bid for Celtic winger Gary Mackay-Steven.
With the champions still working towards a deal for Aberdeen’s Jonny Hayes and Paddy Roberts still a possible option if Manchester City don’t want him this summer, the former Dundee United winger will be allowed to go.
Championship side United opened discussions with the Hoops a fortnight ago, but Mackay-Steven might be out of their price range as he has two years to go on his contract.
However, the English side may attempt to get Brendan Rodgers to part with the squad player on a long-term loan.
Blackburn Rovers have also looked at Mackay-Steven and Ewood Park winger Connor Mahoney has been linked with the treble-winners.
Celtic preference is to sell fringe players rather than look at another series of season long loans.
