Manager and team must show stoic unity

1148

You can train to be a football player for years, hone your skills and work on your fitness, but there are situations you can never prepare for until you are in the spotlight.  Yesterday Mark Wilson had to field questions about his team-mates’ performance and his manager’s position, after another abject performance which drew criticisms from Neil Lennon towards the players.

Mark gave a textbook response to the BBC, “I don’t like slagging my team-mates off but we have to do better.

“Football is a result-driven game but we don’t want that [Neil Lennon sacked].  We are firmly behind the manager and we love working with him and the coaching staff.”

We should be in no doubt that harsh words are being spoken in the dressing room and team spirit must be awful, but the outside world need to see stoic unity.

You are rightas always, I should have said

What unique attribute does the spelling of an English team on a bit of paper……….

Bit boring though, and you didn’t get it!

You are still right though grrrrrrr

  2. Kevtic

Not saying he’s that bad, just his positioning is sometimes wrong, which Imho is 90% of goalkeeping, good shot stopper, but fills me with dread when he tries to catch a cross/corner.

I think Coneybhoy might have answered the question you asked me.

I heard the same story you did re set fee at end of loan period. I guess the reason he was not bought out right was down to either

    1) They expect a new manager with different goalie preferences might be coming in

    2) Neil was happy with loan status as he had his eye on Craig Gordon (or other) and FF is a stop gap.

    3) PL still fancies re-negotiating the set fee with Newcastle if no-one else is willing to fork out the £2m (or whatever the fee is)

I reckon the 0-0 is the best as you were there, no one in the world expected that result. I wasn’t but still missed work for it.

My top 5 were based on being there and I am jealous of some of yours.

Pass it on. Be positive folks.

Being the cleverest person in the universe (although I actually think that we are mere micro-organisms living in the lungs of a giant super creature who is also living in the lungs of an even bigger hyper lifeform – this explains black holes and everything), I would have asked it like this.

“what is it about Hull City that makes it unique across English football Divisions Premier to 4.”

    Hail Hail

  6. Just watched Naismith injuring himself.

The other guys leg pouring with blood.

    Not even a booking!

I did feel sorry for him when he broke down though, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Now, I am glad he will never play for Rangers again, because he is a good player.

But if a genie gave me a choice, press this button and Naismith’s knee will be destroyed…

    No way I’m pressing that.

I think we need to improve on

“what is it about Hull City that makes it unique across English football Divisions Premier to 4?”

    As current answers would be:-

    a) They’re the only one in Hull

    b) They play in a stadium named after the lead singer in the Sunshine Band

    c) They’re the only club with a player called Dele Adebola

    d) they are the 2nd last club that Jimmy Bullard played for

    e) They are the club that nearly spells Hell

    Thank You very much m8.

I wish the Google Chrome logo wisnae on this site. Hidden in plain sight stuff really gets me going a wee bit crazy.

Calm me doon a wee bit BSR. :))

I love Shauns Shades and even the Elite smokes or whatever they are. HEHE

Get that Google stuff off this site is what I would say. As this site gets more popular the Symbols will be used subliminally and to me that Google Chrome is nothing but a hidden in plain site 666.

    Nurse!!!

Wish you were on earlier, the answer has gone a bit surreal to cover up not getting it!

  10. Coneybhoy

I remember working it out before.

Better just to ask which English team has no loops or enclosed spaces in it’s name.

Some folk hate this stuff, but I like to go at it til I get it, even if it takes days.

  11. Rascar capac

You know me, I like to be annoying!

BBC4 has Scottish indie bands on righ now, takes me back

  12. Went to see Tintin today with my two brothers and a sister.

Really tough audience for anyone doing a Tintin movie.

I kinda expected to be slightly disappointed.

    Then I watched it.

    WOW!

Not everyone will react like that, but if you grew up loving the books, then you will LOVE this film.

Spielberg and Jackson totally get Tintin.

    They just get it.

    Bravo!

  13. Rascar capacity

Got it booked I’m for Tuesday with my daughter and not sure who is more excited. I read all my Tintin in the library so remember the smell not just the story.

Canny wait now after you post

I’ve never seen animation this good before.

    The film just looks gorgeous.

    And it’s in 3D!

The thing that breaks before one sinks?? Maybe

    Kevin

Your analogy of a Jewish team playing in Nazi Germany pre-1933 is accurate.

Don’t listen to your detractors. Its accurate.

Rascar..ok I’m off to see TinTin tomorrow based on your asessment.

  16. Rascar Capac

Really watching BBC4 now Oasis/McGee, Tintin will be great, victory over Rennes(lucky bun net will be there) and over Well.

Apologies for spelling, using iPad who decides for me Hun

  17. Anyone watching BBC4

I forgot how good the 90s were.

Limited good music but great nights out, festivals and pop/rock crossover music you could appreciate the charts.

I don’t know any chart music now, I listen to Phanton 105.2 all the time (indie and rock)

  18. Margaret

I very visual person, kinda watch but don’t listen.

Sister is a computer programmer, into every detail.

Brother is a linguist, but also the greatest wit I have ever met.

Brother is a commando, poetry lover and a wee bit off his heid.

All Tintin lovers, all different, all loved it.

That is a fair summary of what Celtic are facing as it is now currently in its infancy.

  20. On the league medals thing, do they not get them when they get the trophy?

Obviously not, if this is true.

    But why not?

  21. BTW

It is worth pointing out that

There have been no outside distractions for Celtic domestically this season

There have been no bad referee or linesman decisions against us

Celtic have not confronted the SFA this season

We are just crap and need to improve.

    Thursday is the start

    Hail hail

Agreed. Just crap. It can only get better. Hopefully.

    Who’s money are you checking?

If it is DD, he will not be spending any.

I know(indirectly but authentically) from the man himself that he would love to be rid of Celtic but his sons won’t let him.

If not this angle, which are you discussing?

    Respect for dropping the articles.

    Why are they coming out?

I hope people will realise why I was applying Freemasonry to Henry Joy and the possibility to Wolfe Tone.

Watch the latest petec nonsense in the spanner, it is a couple of hours so make sure you are comfortable.

The relevant stuff is in the first half hour in the documentary, it also means thinking about all the other stuff happening globally at that time.

    ;)

  25. Coneybhoy

Naismiths tackle on that boy should have been a straight red, but because he held his leg he never even got a booking.

There are so many easy ways to curtail us without anyone noticing.

Broon or Kayal getting booked in the first half, or the full backs, makes all the difference.

Ragers defenders not getting booked for the same stuff, Ragers forwards not getting tackled, it all mounts up.

Probably worth 10 points over the year.

And the refs don’t even need to be doing it deliberately.

It would be interesting to see me trying to ref a Glasgow derby impartially.

    There are more of Them.
