Manager and team must show stoic unity

1148

You can train to be a football player for years, hone your skills and work on your fitness, but there are situations you can never prepare for until you are in the spotlight.  Yesterday Mark Wilson had to field questions about his team-mates’ performance and his manager’s position, after another abject performance which drew criticisms from Neil Lennon towards the players.

Mark gave a textbook response to the BBC, “I don’t like slagging my team-mates off but we have to do better.

“Football is a result-driven game but we don’t want that [Neil Lennon sacked].  We are firmly behind the manager and we love working with him and the coaching staff.”

We should be in no doubt that harsh words are being spoken in the dressing room and team spirit must be awful, but the outside world need to see stoic unity.

If you only realised how far we were along this Panopticon, Yeshuah is the only chance to dance.

Again, another worrying issue. Another worry of mines is that certain elements feel they have failed in Ireland, and are now concentrating their efforts here – the OO are on the rise here imo, and it’s like a snowball – scarey talk of recessions and hard times increases support for bigoted organisations like this. All the factors are there – in a hundred years a history student will be asked to write an essay on what led to the increase of bigotry and sectarian tension in Scotland in the 21st Century. Never one reason, always several….worrying times ahead.

  3. Rascar,

Maybe this’ll help you decide. When was the last time you ever saw the polis filming an OO walk, pulling them aside and identifying them….let alone provoking them, harassing them.

Then compare the threat they pose to society with the the threat to society that Celtic supporters pose.

They are not anti-Catholic,and they are not anti-Irish.

What they are,my friend is anti-Celtic.Why? Because Celtic FC dared challenge their insane sense of of superiority, that’s why.

It just so happens that Celtic,is perceived by them,to be both Irish, and Catholic. So therein lies their problem.

They are most reviled breed on this earth, and they know it – “No one likes us,we don’t care!” Their own hate comes from within – I suggest this to you – Deep down, they don’t even like themselves – they are struggling, like a last stand, trying to grab onto some sense of culture, some cause, some belief that does not exist. In the year 2011 – the only thing that they bring to the table is hatred, nobody does hate quite like they do.

One only has to look at their history – and they know very well their own betrayal. And it’s the poor, peace loving Glasgow/Irish and the people in the 6 counties that have to suffer the brunt of it,the violence of their own frustration.

Notice their rage, their anger, their hate – for they are the enemies of all decent people – to try to reason with them is futile, they are a lost cause.

They understand one language, and one language only.

It’s not even about England anymore – their own “masters”, England and their Irish counterpoints have long since buried the hatchet, but those gobshites just won’t let it go.

England cooks the soup,England is the common denominator – I can’t speak for Scotland,I believe that England may have some interest in oil revenue? But in this backwater? The English would ditch this place in the morning, irrespective of “the lost tribe of Israel”.

Their problem is this – fear. They think that we will treat them in the same way that they treated us.

And don’t forget money, money also – I always shall maintain that money has always been their prime motivation – throughout their shameful history.

    Money,and greed.

  11. Petec,

    Just before i do go…

It will be very difficult to lead the west back into the light. They have now established that Socialism, pivotal to what Jesus tried to teach, is an evil doctrine. Right-wing evangelists have totally distorted everything he said. Religious or not, that is seriously twisted.

Not sur what I missed there or maybe I have been unclear on earlier post(usually I am).

With me it easy, Socialist every time.

As such, as a Scot I am against Independance(mh point about Salmond was that he should be in the labour party)

Scotland during the fuedal system, screwed up and went bankrupt, hence the necessary join upmwith England which went very well in all ways for scotland..

Independence would be folly, as most scots form a social bond with northern English and we rely on the drip of cash for infrastructure which we could not afford without higher taxes.

Labour in power was great in the UK an will be soon again.

Independence in Ireland is much trickier as the carve up of borders favors the status quo.

As such it needs a sea change in opinion somewhere.

Ireland gave up the claim to the 6 UK ulster counties very easily, so the onlybdrive for unity will come from Sinn Fein.

I can’t see any drive right now to take on the unemployment this would bring- high percentage of jobs in NI per created there for political reasons eg Post office. Very high dependency on the dole reported today in the province compared with the main land

There is no desire, so I think another generation until a united Ireland peacefully. If not peacefully then people will die unnecessarily as before.

    Hail hail

  18. graham spiers is only writing what a lot of know lennons one defeat from getting the sack ,and thats a fact numpties.and the goalie that got away none other than david marshall at cardiff another one that was hounded out at celtic by our supporters or was it the huns that come on here and stir things up about our players. i wrote on here a few hours ago about us being set up by other supporters on here ,and i thing im being proved right about the slaging we seem to give our players on here ,that they read these things on here and say whats the point of trying to be a decent team when all your own supporters just talk us down .

  19. I see our first team are blabbing to the press again, we know must win every game until the end of the season, whilst trying to figure out how to play better, you couldn’t make it up.

This is nearly as bad as the muppets who feel they have to start queuing 55 minutes before a flight is due to leave,

Weather in EK was ok when I left

  20. Some weeks ago I posted the 19th November could be a significant date and this morning its significance is becoming alarmingly clear. Our next 3 fixtures are:

    03/11 Rennes Europa League H

    06/11 Motherwell SPL A

    19/11 ICT SPL A

With a team so patently in disarray and unresponsive to their manager’s instructions it’s hard to see them getting their act together enough to win the next 3 matches and if they don’t I feel that Lenny will have had enough by then and will consider calling it a day.

There is definitely a deep-seated problem here and in the fullness of time we may learn about it. For my part (wild speculation) I think a few players have had their noses put out of joint by the preferential treatment awarded to Samaras with his new contract during the summer and the way they’ve been played out of position to accommodate him in the team. It’s the only thing I can find to explain why a team that finished last season so promisingly has fallen apart so spectacularly this season and why Kris Commons is nowhere to be seen.

My opTIMism is a little dented this morning and I’d really, really like to believe this team will get their heads down and start pulling together, but I have deep reservations about their integrity (as a team).

  21. Murdochbhoy

simpler than that, we thought we just had to turn up this season, players stopped working off the ball, manager gets narky blames players, morale and team spirit collapses

    simples

Dont see how you can blame Samaras, baffling logic

Injuries and suspensions, Players losing form and Kris Commons

With all that went on last season with Neil provided the stoic unity

An inexperienced management team having to cope with the issues above and are clearly failing

  23. Murdochbhoy. Our deep rooted problems are easy to see

We have cheap defenders who can’t defend and cheap strikers who can’t score goals

Not rocket science to see where our problems are

  24. Petec @ 06.32

I don’t actually blame Samaras, I think he’s a quality player and we haven’t been able to harness his talent

    EKBhoy @ 06.36

I agree some players aren’t trying hard enough and it could well they’ve a higher opinion of their ability and worth to the team.

    Overseasbhoy @06.41

He was awful at the start of the season and was reportedly injured and omitted from the team but he contradicted and said he was fit to play.

    lionroars67 says: @ 06.42

Again, I’m not blaming Samaras, I’m admittedly using wild speculation in a bid to understand why a team that promised so much has failed to produce this season.
