Communication not right at the back. Izzy had some very sloppy moments, though actually did some good work. Berget looked shot by the time he was hooked. Tony put in a shift. Stefan ran and ran and played some good balls. Calum dangerous and worked hard – a great prospect. Kayal caught on the ball once but all told a very good showing from him. Others pass marks or better

Stokes woeful.
Embarrassing that we didn’t take a proper corner near the end.
Good news:
Maribor are crap.
We shouldn’t struggle against crap like this though. Under investment showing.
Still, we will progress.

OldTim67, agreed, there were plenty of Celtic players who played very well, Callum, Denayer, VVD, Stefan, Stokes worked his erchie aff, Craig had a couple of good saves, but Beram, almost faultless.
Broonie might even manage a bit of game time next week.H.H.
Johansen was superb tonight playing a bit further forward. Commons might struggle to get his place back.

Agree with you about Kayal. Thought he was immense. Celtic were very dosciplined tonight but still prone to making the same old errors. Stokes playing a ball back towards our midfield/ defence that was misplaced and caused chaos. Izzy’s pass along the face of our area with the same result and Efe being caught in possession again.
All of these need to be worked on in training and stamped out.

McGregor is class!
Great performance Celtic. I have been a critic of Kayal but tonight he was immense. I was also critical of the board for the signing of Gordon, but what a keeper. I really thought he was finished as a top class no 1. So happy to be proved wrong.
I predicted 1-1 on CQN this morning and am delighted with that and we were unlucky not to win.
Well done Ronny, Johnny and the Bhoys.

The Slovenians have a few decent players, especially the no. 5 but they also have many weaknesses
We are now the favourites but they will enjoy playing counter attack

Our young centre back had a good game and its now back to Scotland to play the league leaders on Saturday before the second leg on Tuesday. H.H.
Really pleased with that and delighted for Ronny and the players.
Personally I thought Johansen and Young McGregor were outstanding.
Despite the infuriating side of his play I think Stokes deserves huge plaudits for his work rate tonight.
Well done Celtic.
1-1 is a good score but there is still a lot to do next Tuesday.
At least it restores some pride after the Warsaw disappointments.
