McCoist at odds with hero Whyte

979

We all know Craig Whyte doesn’t get nearly enough credit for the wonderful job he is doing for Scottish football but his cause was not helped by rookie manager, Ally McCoist, who when asked today if Nikica Jelavic asked to leave Rangers said, “No he didn’t, not at all. I have a wonderful relationship with Nikica. He never said that.”

The Rangers manager then passed the buck onto the unfairly beleaguered club owner, telling STV, “We received a bid from Everton which Craig [Whyte] found acceptable. Therefore business was done.”

McCoist refused to take a manager’s responsibility for deciding who leaves the football club.  Craig Whyte made it clear to all concerned yesterday that Nikica Jelavic wanted to leave Rangers and there was no point keeping a player who didn’t want to be there.  Whyte needs the backing of everyone with the best interests of Scottish football at heart, including his manager.  The intrusive scrutiny he has been placed under in recent months will not help him achieve his objectives.

Whyte hasn’t put a foot wrong so far, we should all mind our own business and let him get on with his job. Eye on the prize, Craig.

  1. I’ve been here before, Charlie Nicholas, Murdo McLeod, Craig Burley, all ex Celts who played some fantastic stuff for us in their time, OK, unlike any of us who post on here, sometimes they talk a load of nonsense, but surely the effort they put in for the cause during their time as Celts must buy them some credit ni

  2. got cut off there, just think we shouldn’t be too quick to condemn some of our ex players because we don’t agree with them, there are plenty of other easier targets

  3. The Battered Bunnet on

Yes to Charlie at Centre Back.

No to Charlie at Left Back.

If Lustig is fit to play, then maybe give him a run at Right back with Matthews at left.

But I’d prefer to give Izzy another run out and let Matthews do his stuff on the right.

Tight 3 of Ledley, Wanyama and Broon in centre mid, with two wide players from Forrest, Commons and Sammi playing further forward, maybe Sammi for height, and Hoops up front as point man.

    That’ll do for me.

  4. The Moon Bhoys

Aye but Burley is disgracefully anti-Celtic.

Charlie Nicholas appears to have got better and his attacks on Lafferty had a lot to do with my changing opinion.

  5. On ex players now plying their trade as TV pundits. I have seen John Collins twice recently and on both occasions he spoke well of the Celts and memorably said he always enjoyed seeing them win. Delicately put,of course.

    Well said John

  6. 3 times in the first ten mins and 15/20 times thereafter

depending largely on how the game is progressing …if it`s tight it will be mentioned ad nauseum

  7. PFayr,

There is a thread running on one of the huns sites (No Pope, Priest or Holy Water. A MOPE quandary.) which recalls the days that the huns celebrated that they labelled and derided us as huns. There is a song they sang to us (which I can’t remember) that referenced the term and some are of the mind to ressurect it. Some of they are claiming we were ‘hun’ before they were ‘hun’. Apparently it goes back to the Celtic Supporters supporting the Nazi’s in the 2nd WW. So they claim that if we call them ‘hun’ then it is sectarian (sic) yet some of they wish to promote us as ‘hun’ and yet it is not sectarian (?) because it has nothing to do with religion but politics.

    The song:

No pope priests or holy water,

    No home rule for Ireland,

If I had a Tommy gun,

    I’d shoot every f****n h**,

Just for walking on the Queen’s highway.

    I am confused.

  8. Burley is openly anti-CFC

even commenting that as we no longer paid his wages he had no interest in the club

to think often gets a gig as the former CFC player too …..trumpet

Yup. I think they are trying to get a handle on numbers and what those who do not attend the games in question want.

Forster; Matthews, K Wilson, Rogne, Mulgrew; Brown, Wanyama, Ledley, Commons; Hooper & Samaras

  11. Mrs BT off to Moffit for a wee overnight….

nice ghirl not going till I return from PV after watching a hoops victory…

  12. Neil picking a team with height and strength with options on the bench.

    Seems sensible.

    Lets hope it works out.

  13. Why change a central defensive partnership which has been playing so well together? Mulgrew is an accident waiting to happen at left back.

Why play Samaras in a front 2 when it doesn’t work? Loan striker or wide left if Sammi plays

Was very confident we’d win comfortable but i assumed stokes, hooper and commons all linking up again and our strongest central defensive partnership. Not sure now.

  14. OK, fair comment on Craig Burley, he does seem to have a massive chip on his shoulder when he has to talk about us, not sure where that came from, would love to know.

The Orc support anger is split in many directions…

Anger vented in all directions depending on the individual Orc opinion…

    At Minty

    At Whyte

    At keevins

    At the Record

    At The Sun

    At Bain

    At Paul Murray

At many many many many people!

But I tell you what … Split focus is unproductive

Cue ‘Lennon says we don’t need a strong rangers ‘

Cue ‘ally tells Lennon to mind his own business’

    Today’s headlines….

Where will their anger be completely directed?

Lenny… Don’t fall for this propaganda , the whole response to the question has been put to the Orc support in a way that it wasn’t meant.

They have now put you in a dangerous position when you think of an orcs mindset.

    I hate the media!

    I really really do

A fair list of guilty and innocent people.

Is it just me that thinks the main culprit is missing from the list and looking like hes going to get away free.

I give you the myth…walter myth.

This excuse of a man returned to the hun, knowing full well their financial positition, and happily spent money he knew they did’nt have.He put himself before the well being of the club ( thank you walter ) knowing the damage he was doing.

The leg-end that is the myth in my eyes is every bit as guilty as minty and bain etc, if not more.

walter myth..the excuse of a man who killed the hun.

walter myth.. a true Celtic legend!!

    LET THE PEOPLE SING!!
