McCoist at odds with hero Whyte

979

We all know Craig Whyte doesn’t get nearly enough credit for the wonderful job he is doing for Scottish football but his cause was not helped by rookie manager, Ally McCoist, who when asked today if Nikica Jelavic asked to leave Rangers said, “No he didn’t, not at all. I have a wonderful relationship with Nikica. He never said that.”

The Rangers manager then passed the buck onto the unfairly beleaguered club owner, telling STV, “We received a bid from Everton which Craig [Whyte] found acceptable. Therefore business was done.”

McCoist refused to take a manager’s responsibility for deciding who leaves the football club.  Craig Whyte made it clear to all concerned yesterday that Nikica Jelavic wanted to leave Rangers and there was no point keeping a player who didn’t want to be there.  Whyte needs the backing of everyone with the best interests of Scottish football at heart, including his manager.  The intrusive scrutiny he has been placed under in recent months will not help him achieve his objectives.

Whyte hasn’t put a foot wrong so far, we should all mind our own business and let him get on with his job. Eye on the prize, Craig.

This Celtic team could go on and do great things. I really rate Victor Wanyama, Gary Hooper, Beram Kayal, James Forrest and Anthony Stokes among others. We have the makings of a really good team.

But big Jock`s achievements are something else. A team made up of players from within a 30-mile radius of Celtic Park became European Champions. There has never been a team before or since in world football that represented a locality, a cause and conquered Europe in such a fashion.

    John Clark – Bellshill

Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and others will have the relief/belief to rise again. I have posted on this website amazement at the Skills of a very Young Aberdeen team at the Ravenscraig tournie last year about this time. It was Brilliant to watch but they were all very small, no chance in this ridiculous league will they make it, they would definitely have a chance in Spain. At least the Refs dish out 70+ booking points each game apart from Barca because they cannae get close enough.

The Exiled Tim is totally correct, the refs are the Key and I am raging that we still have refs doing what they are doing with Emilio coming back. Fair play to the Norris dude he seemed to be a bit better last week but previously he was one of the very worst.

Scotland is a footballing nation but is held back by this utter crap supremacist scum.

If we still think that Scottish football needs Rangers, if this p%sh is still allowed to be peddled then there is no point having any football in Scotland. We are as well just playing friendlies from under 8s to over 21s.

    Interesting you mention Alex Ferguson.

He and Jock did a question and answer session at Glasgow Uni around`71,`72

I wasn`t there but those who were said how informative it was.

Remember that Ferguson was in the hun team `69 Cup Final we defeated 4-0.

Ferguson learned at the feet of the big man,who had the humility to go to

Italy to learn from Helenio Herrera.

    Jock`s legacy continues.

I have spent 1000s of hours playing 1v1 matches online (nuclear will understand what I am saying) with much better players just to get better at games. The love of the game makes spending so much time doing it irrelevant. The thing is you ARE learning ALL the time.

Neil wants in that Euro arena so he can really LEARN.

  12. Joe O’Rourke…Yesterday

Justice Must be Seen to be Done”

I certainly don’t want to get involved in a hypothetical argument; and certainly not one that involves another club; but I feel I have to make a comment after receiving numerous emails from member branches of the Association.

They all ask the same question; will Rangers if they go into liquidation be allowed to maintain their position in the SPL as a Newco; Playing in the same stadium with the same players and the same infrastructure?

I really can’t answer that; but can anyone really see the majority of the other SPL clubs voting in favour of kicking them out? I certainly can’t; with maybe the obvious exception of Mr Romanov at Hearts; and of course Celtic.

What must happen if they are found guilty is; (and I will contact Mr Doncaster at the appropriate time) the punishment must fit the crime; if Rangers are found guilty of cheating for over ten years; then they must impose sanctions that will reflect that; it certainly cannot be a one-off ten point deduction.

I don’t think for one moment they will impose sanctions for ten years; but it should be at least three or four years; and any trophies that were won during that period of cheating; should then be awarded to whichever team was runners-up; and the history books and records amended to reflect that.

What Rangers did over that period of time was to operate with a significant advantage in operating cost; due to the non-payment of taxes; and that advantage was gained in European football as well as domestic football.

There have been several precedents to use as a guideline for the SPL’s action; Airdrie, Dundee, and Gretna to name but a few; I’m sure in the weeks to come the Scottish media will be canvassing for a meagre punishment; if they are found guilty our fans will need to do everything in our power to see that justice is done.

Yea kellyville closer to brisbane than Sydney

  24. A few years ago someone joined my team (in work – not footie). He came with an excellent c.v. And the boss said the interview went well. When he spoke confidently he left people comvinced he was bang on the button and knew what he was talking about.

But. It soon emerged that he didn’t have the basic skills to actually do the job. Within a month or 2, having asked to see the c.v and comparing it with his performance, we pretty much confirmed the guy was at it. He was swiflty moved out of the “critical path”, sidelined and, when a concrete reason was found, was shown the door with un-dignified haste.

Every now and again his name comes up and we talk about his sparkling first impression and also how he clearly wasn’t happy at being sussed. When his lies became apparent he, using his convincing delivery, claimed that one of the oldest, most capable member of the was responsible for one of his mistakes. It was a great performance and he even looked as if he believed it…

Why am i boring you with this tale?

Because when I see Whyte strolling down Edminston Drive, in amongst the fans with a collection tin, hear about his billionaire status and measure it against what is actually being done, it reminds me so much of this guy.
