HT Motherwell 0-1 Celtic
Great opening 25 mins then we went off the boil a bit but overall a very solid performance. Only thing missing was a couple more goals. Everything seems to be going down our left. Izzy once again putting in a shift, but would like to see Lustig more involved down the right. He had a good shot well saved in the first minute, be we haven’t tried much down his side since then.
The goal was well worked. Several passes strung together before a miscued shot from Stokes was flicked into the net by Commons who continues his goal scoring form.
I think there are several more goals in this game, just need a better final ball into the box. Motherwell yet to threaten Fraser’s goal.
Virgil again impressive, hasn’t had much to do but reads the game so well.
Red flare landed on pitch at half time ……..oh wait it was only the Mullet.

Pricks should be made to sit through the full HSE video footage of Bradford….where’s the self-policing?!

Hebcelt – agree re the flares. The cretins who were doing it were (I think) the same ones with the Mandela flag, covering their faces with scarves. If they are not willing to show their faces, that’s a good sign they don’t belong in a Celtic crowd.

Pundits at ht saying it wasn’t a penalty…. they really need to read a rule book – his arm is nearly straight out when the ball hits it. For example, that happens in front of goal…. what is then ? No penalty because he “didn’t mean it” ? Of course not.
Time to take “pewky” off and give Amido a chance.
Motherwell clearly out to kick and maim any and every Celtic player while the referee looks on in silent admiration.
Stonewall penalty denied. Commons scores from what was proved to be clearly an onside position and we are being called the cheats? Isn’t Scottish football wonderful?
Why was Lasley not shown a second yellow after the half-time whistle for continually abusing the referee? Yet they want the authorities to clamp down on that sort of harassment.
Lasley will be pissed at getting booked for for dissent…..

Best central defensive pairing we’ve had for years in virgi and efe. The sieve replaced by the mop .

Big Virgil is a real elegant player .Top drawer, as is Efe.
Really bright first half, good time to score .Lasley really is a scum bag. Just a matter of time before he injures one of our ghuys badly again.
He really should carry a health warning.
Hope we stick with Pukki for full game. Think he will score.

Technically it was a penalty but I feel that that punishment would not fit the crime, given it was accidental.
I don’t care what anybody says but big Sutty was an absolute LEGEND for us.

A penalty is when a Celtic team are three of four nil up. That is what a penalty is.
Unless it’s in Europe then it’s totally different from that.

Motherwell keeping it packed and narrow, our passing was crisp and quick but abated towards the end of the half. Moving the ball well, but final third disrupted by Motherwell’s tactics.
Stokes, I have to say, does a lot of unsung work – his first touch tonight has been great, but playing too deep at times.
Sorry, but Teemu has not got it, not as a striker, and we have better midfield options if that’s what’s being touted. Balde – or better imo, Atajic – on with 60 to go.
