Steven Mouyokolo’s last two permanent contracts were for clubs playing Premier League football in England but after joining Hull City as a 22-year-old and making 21 appearances in their relegation season, his move to Wolves bombed amid a multitude of injuries. The player has made four appearances for Wolves and four for Sochaux in the last three years.
He no longer has the profile which would be considered in the English Premier League; which is why he’s pitched up in Scotland. If his knee passes a medical this week, he’ll become the latest 6’3” defender on the Celtic books, competition for Kelvin, Virgil, Charlie, Efe and the rest.
Competition is good but Steven’s chances of edging out the competition to become a first team regular must be considered slight with his injury record, whether he passes the medical or not. It’s more likely he’ll follow the path of Jean-Joel Perrier-Doumbe, although Champions League football and a Cup Final winner is not a bad return.

B R T & H .
I have fond memories of meeting a guy from Bristol in Monreale . —–
” the only people who speak English here are the Bangladeshi hustlers “.
” can’t get a decent drink in this town ”
There are @ 20 bars in Monreale ! [ maybe he wanted a pint of scrumpy ?]
Tom Watson resigns from the shadow cabinet.
Is that so he can get time off for The Open?
It’s a source of great amusement to me, when Mr England can’t make himself understood in foreign parts, he resorts to speaking louder, as if this is suddenly going to result in our continental friends being fluent in english.
Bma
Easily amused

The painful thing, in my humble opinion, is when the bar owners start stocking pints of scrumpy or whatever just to attract the custom of this big-spending blow-ins, leaving centuries of proper hospitality behind.

No that Tom Watson, and fine well you know it.

Who is Liam Henderson?

Liam Henderson was a new face to many Celtic supporters as he made his first team debut against Sevastapol last night. The midfielder turned 17 in April and made rapid progress last season as he excelled for the u-17 side and impressed when called into the u-20 team. Henderson has a distinctive running style and always has the ability to find time in the middle of the park. With an eye for goal it’s hardly surprising that he is being fast-tracked through to work with the first team squad. Playing alongside Kris Commons and Beram Kayal against Crewe on Saturday Henderson wasn’t overawed convincing Neil Lennon to take him with the first team to Germany. Speaking at the end of last season development side coach John Kennedy said: “Liam is a very talented player, he’s someone that we have high hopes for. “We are very strong in midfield at this level with Jackson Irvine, John Herron, Lewis Kidd, Jamie Lindsay all looking for places. “Liam came in at the start of the season and hit a high very quickly. He’s mainly played for the u-17?s this season and that’s part of his development. He got his opportunity against Hearts and scored twice. “He finished well for his two goals, he gave us great energy. He has an eye for a pass, he sees things quickly and I’m delighted by his display plus Connor McManus who came on and Paul McMullan showed up well.” After scoring twice against Hearts Henderson, whose dad Nicky played for Falkirk and Hamilton Accies said: “I enjoyed that match, scoring twice was great. I like to play box to box and get a few goals. I’ve not scored as many as I’d like so it’s good to get a few for the u-20?s. “I”m pleased with the way that the season has gone for me. The Glasgow Cup Final was a disappointment for us but we have to get over that and learn from the match. “It was a good experience to play in front of a big crowd, I know that I have to keep on working hard to progress and be involved in games like that in future.”

Yes —-agreed .
Monreale Cathedral is one of the wonders of the world but the big thing on the muppet’s mind was his inability to have a good bevvy . He was also a bit peeved that ” the skirt ” wasn’t interested
..
I recently read a tourism thing re Sicily —— not a desirable destination for young Brits —- drinking to excess is not welcomed.
sorry cant remember original poster, but here’s the link for final whistle photo.

Auldheid agreed. The Natural is great. Tried to tape it for my son many Christmas nights ago. But the Queen or Morecambe and Wise had over-run their time. So he got the lot save the last 5 minutes. He was a very unhappy fifteen-year-old.

Salobrena along from Motril deserves a mention. The castle on the hill above the town is worth a visit and the fish restaurants along the promenade and on the beach itself are excellent.
Going inland from there on the way up to Granada there are the excellent villages of Valle de Lecrin or into Lanjaron at the edge of Las Alpujarras.
I have written about this previously but the local paper out of Granada- Ideal- last season had a sports headline – Celtic go top – which was a reference to a club in a minor regional league. They carried an action shot from the game in question and, yes, the side wore exactly our own dear hoops.
Congrats and welcome to Mr and mrs dixiebhoy and the boys.
Couple of weeks time mate and you will be on cqn moonhowlers r us.
Got wee shades new top today. Love the sir Robert Kelly quote on the inside.

Aye.
As I was watching it, in between the laughter, I was thinking – the Occupied Territories appeals to this joker because in he can get away with the oppression that is no longer available to him in the Six Counties.
He can join the American, Russian and English extremists who make up the bulk of the squatters in Palestine.
But like your old neighbours, he will be back fairly sharpish. He’s just a sad uneducated character without a life.
Just reading back, hearty congratulations to the Dixiebhoy family, twins welcome to the Celtic Family..

Well done b t. Thot you had a bad leg??

Without doubt and you are right to distinguish that it’s the West Bank where he wants to show off his uber-loyality.
San Sebastian is a terrific place. I’m going there for a couple of days in October.
First time I was there was going to and then returning from Lisbon in 1983 when we played Sporting in the UEFA Cup.
Great tapas bars and very friendly people. Helped break up the bus journey from hell.

Brogan Rogan, was nice to hear you talking of the Costa Tropical , went there with Mrs PB and stayed in Almunecar for the month of August (festival time) about 10 years ago. Very spanish and the tapas were superb , luckily the Mrs speaks language fluently. Love going to Granada aswell , the Alhambra is something else and nice wee tapas bar called the Castineda Bodegas off the square if you are there!

Aside from being squatters these extremists are acutely paranoid and suspicious of any strangers.
Given yer man’s level of stupidity he might not get out alive.
Bon Jovi very good last night in spite of the venue,The Hydro should bury Hampden and the SECC as concert venues.

Ever decreasing circles.
In the early 70s our next-door
neighbours, a Scot and his Belfast
wife, and once proud of displaying
their colours on the 12th, headed off
for the certainties of being a white
man in South Africa.
Then one of the neighbours across
from us, young, single, workshy and
tired of his life as a part-time RUC
reservist, followed suit.
The Scot and his wife, to the their
enormous credit, turned up one
evening about 5 years later and
brought presents and apologised for
being the bigots they were before
they left and how they had treated
my father, in particular.
The reservist was back in a year too.
Seems Israel is the only show in town
these days.

I often come across members of the “I only speak English”, brigade here in La Spezia.
At the moment there is a cruise liner in every few days.
The English are undoubtedly the worst – I avoid them like the plague.
Having said that one of my friends is a smashin’ English guy from Worcester who teaches the language here – and also speaks Italian! He also avoids his fellow countrymen.
Buona giornata!

Congrats to Dixiebhoy69.
