You and I have been through a few close seasons together, so it’s no surprise we have this uncomfortable feeling as we look ahead to (hopefully) four hugely important Champions League qualifiers while contemplating how ring-rusty Celtic have looked preseason. These games really don’t matter, of course, they are there to allow us to experiment and build fitness for the real challenges ahead, but you would rather we were turning teams over 4-0 than being on the receiving end. Evidence, perhaps, that the experiments were leading somewhere.
Lots of coverage today of the fall-out from Friday’s meeting between the SFA and Sevco, some of it informed. Huge issues clearly still remain before they will be granted permission to join the SFA but they would not be helped by their prospective manager, Ally McCoist, walking away this week. Sevco have not sold many season tickets but if McCoist goes their chances of doing to will become increasingly scarce. Friday’s comment from McCoist sounded like a scene-setter for a resignation letter.

Agree
IMO the talk of Beattie ,Black et al are nothing more than planted stories by sevco to encourage Huns to buy season books
Interesting given that they don’t have a league registration as yet
Btw Black would probably be a good signing , Beattie would be consistently injured playing against that type of agricultural football on those pitches

I am here, ask me, that way you won’t get hearsay.
I’m forever going on about the Scottish msm. The sad condescending comments from the likes of Jabba and Keevins are one thing. However the press also have a moral obligation to thouroughly investigate and expose the truth, and the hacks in this country dont know the meaning of these words. The DR is not the Sunday Sport, a newspaper which aims at a particular market with headlines of ‘Elvis spotted in Tesco’ and the like. It sees ltself as the red top voice of Scotland but its writers bring it down to the level of a comic.
Scotland’s biggest selling daily employs and allows its journalists to print whatever they want as long as it caters for the main demographic. Thats all well and good, but at what cost. Not only do T, K and co feel comfortable cosetting a football club that has heaped shame on the nation, they also constantly put down any opposing viewpoint, with statements like ‘internet bampots’ and ‘paranoia’. For a minute you would think that these one liners would make them feel justified. The sad truth however is that the laptop loyal do have a decent enough level of intelligence to know that what they are saying is wrong and false.
To make matters worse, they then go on to radio phone-ins and back up these fake views. The journalist Tom English has shown them up by doing a U turn on his RFCiA/L take. For months this guy was a cringing Irish hun apologist, very capable of dragging CFC into the mess when it suited him. Since the internet bampot theories and predictions started to come home, English realised he got it wrong (to an extent) and had the balls to turn against the newly incriminated huns. But thats not for T and K. Along with others like Young, Devlin, Waddell and DJ (does he count?) they stand resolute, firm and faithfull to the lost cause.
No morals, no class.

I think we’ll look like the footballing side tonight.
Ajax had skill, technique and intelligence; Norwich I suspect will rely on strength.

I think three at the back is ok against some lesser spl teams who don’t have much of an attacking threat, pack the midfield and play one upfront

The MSM treatment of them and us always reminds me of the bible quote – Take the plank out of your eye before taking the splinter from mine
If anyone does get the official time for the Aberdeen game please post as I am flying over next week and going to the game with family but coming from England on the day, thanks.

The MSM’s treatment of the Huns has and continues to ensure that their fans have little or no grasp of reality
Disappointment and failure are all the more difficult to understand and accept

That’s very true, we both saw it work at Motherwell.
However, outside of the SPL it’s a non starter for me.

Norwich will rely on strength…aye that Wes Hoolhan is a colossus so he is!
Your right though they will not be up to the same technical ability as Ajax…nor will Helsinki.
Does anyone know what has happened to Andy McInnes (formely Sports Editor of the Daily Express) ?.
Just noticed him and his son no longer ‘write’ for the paper.

I’d see a centre half as a greater priority.

Good post.
I’ve always believed that MSM are a direct causal link to the existence and inevitable fate of the former club.

I agree a centre half would be my priority – but in Lenny we trust
