New, social, CQN, Elvis is dead!

1157

And we’re back!  What a two days of systems nightmare.  We went down at 7pm on Thursday.  No conclusive information on why, we have had traffic volume related outages before, but this was on a more serious and persistent basis. We had to move the database to a new location and restore from backup to recover, we lost a few days articles. Better not speak to me about Fasthosts for a while.

We got access to the databases this morning and took the opportunity to upgrade facilities in the background.  We’re on a new incarnation of WordPress and now have Facebook and Twitter integration.  Good news is you can link your Celtic Quick News account with your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts, and share information from CQN to your social network timeline.

To do so:
Login to Celtic Quick News.
Cick on your name at the top of the Comments box to access your profile.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to access the Facebook and Twitter links.
Update your profile.

You will then see a Share link beside your comments.

Should we be Celtic Slow News for today?  Here it is:

Rennes 1-1 Celtic.
Hugely important second half performance and Joe Ledley goal.
Your favourite billionaire is getting divorced and has claimed he has no money!  Oh dear.
One year on, the SFA are still smoking out religiously offensive correspondents!
The Berlin Wall fell and I hear Elvis is dead.

Have a try at the Facebook and Twitter links and let me know what you think of it.  I’m off for a break but will catch up later.

Most importantly, there is a Celtic fan called Andrew who will be walking about Belfast in a daze this weekend.  If you see him, but him a beer.

i have a mate who has actually grown a moustache in solidarity with him. Both are going to shave it off at the end of the tournament.

Let my phone ring a few times as Sharkeys will be going doo lally celebrating both Hearts and Rangers conjuring up an absolutely unique result where they both get humped 5-0.

    Well done the All Blacks.

Unlucky France – no one seen that performance coming.

I know a lot of people mock Rugby. I am not one of them. There is a depth of competitiveness and passion that football could learn so much from. However as for those commentators…..some things never change.

hamiltontim. Nothing that I could ever say will lighten the burden of sorrow that you carry today. How could it. But if the sympathy, empathy and camaraderie that I feel for you today can speed up the return of a smile then take my flawed prayer and let it trigger the memories of the best of times.

    Hail Hail

how come dave king remains as only director from old board?

Maybe he is waiting in the wings m8 but hopefully not.

  6. Assuming Lenny goes with 2 up front and Forrest on the wing as he does in all home games, which of our 3 midfielders will get the nod and who will miss out? Or will Ledley be shunted out to left back again to accomodate?

Sorry to hear about your loss and no one knows how hard it must be untill they lose a parent..

  8. I find it a source of great frustration the easy ride that David Murray is getting in the whole Rangers saga.

He is the one who made all the big decisions and he is the one who is most culpable for Rangers financial demise.

Rangers were up for sale several years.

They could not find a buyer of real integrity.

It is clear that any buyer may have to be forced to put Rangers into Administration.

Craig Whyte is only man who was willing to accept this, and take it on.

He is willing to put them into administration ,and resurrect them ,if that is what needs to be done ,in the here and now.

    Rangers will survive.

Whether it is 1873 0r the new 2012 version.

I spoke to a multimillionaire Rangers fan last week.

He was of the opinion that they should have been put into Administration a few years ago.

I paraphrase some of his words.

” Rangers history will still be there”

“The trophies will still be in the same cabinets ,in the blue room.”

“You are born a Rangers fan, that won’t die because of a change of ownership ,or date.

It’s the same with Celtic ,you are born a Celtic fan.”

If Fergus McCann had waited until Celtic went under, you would still be going to Celtic park this week to watch Celtic play Aberdeen.”

“The European cup would still sit in the trophy cabinet.”

“It would just be a new chapter to a new Celtic.

It will be the same with a new Rangers.”

“I still believe that they will win the tax case.”

The last statement shows that even the very rich can ignore what they don’t want to accept.

The rest of it for me is true.

    Unless we leave them behind.

Rangers will be our mortal enemy forever.

C’mon the Hoops, lets win this league and stop another 10 in a row snowball.

The sad thing is our football players will get little or no protection from the officials…wee Jamesy must have been black and blue last week and Kelvin Wilson is still out.

Morning bhoys! Havent posted in a long time !Been up from 8 am this morning in a rainy Belfast!! Drove older brother and son to airport to catch flight for game , not going myself .. Finances a wee bit too tight at minute!!! I can’t help but feel that today will be a watershed moment for Neil and the boys! Victory ( not too concerned about performance) and a Hun draw or defeat at the wee guns will put us back in the fray and give some hope!!! Keep the faith!!! Anything less than 3 points for us today and well… I shudder to think!!! But we can do this !!! Hail hail!

  15. Just getting ready to head out for a wee corporate day at Celtic Park a just reward for overspending on the credit card. Hopefully the bhoys can carry what appears to be an improvment in team spirit over the last couple of games into this match, would love a great pereformance but for now settle for the 3 points
