Newco born from patronage of monetary inducements

740

Let’s be clear about what is going to happen on Friday.  Monetary inducements are being made to allow a newly created company to advance its football team two divisions up the league structure.

The overwhelming majority of money to pay for these financial inducements will be taken from Celtic, who vehemently oppose all these measures.  The SPL will reduce the commercial distribution to the top club in the league and pay-off everyone else.  41 teams will benefit financially from this proposition, only Celtic will lose.

For good measure, the SPL have declined to take gate sharing off the table.  Up to 30% of your season ticket money will soon be commandeered by Kilmarnock, Motherwell and the rest, who will take their slice and share some with the lower leagues.

All the while you can scarcely find a football fan of any club who is anything other than disgusted by this shoddy behaviour; Celtic fans are by no means isolated.  Most fans of former-club, Rangers, don’t want to see a phoenix assisted by such blatant patronage, lest Newco is forever known as a team which needed rules to be changed and money taken from Celtic to give it life.

Believe me, if Newco exists for 100 years, every day they score a goal someone will say, “They are only there because the rules were changed to help them and money was taken from Celtic to pay for it”.

They will forever be known as the Establishment club with definitive evidence that they benefited from the Establishment’s help.

The once-proud era of Scottish league football is surely over, what we are witnessing is merely evidence of this fact.  ‘Sport’ as gone from our football. Fans, clubs and the national bodies must accept this reality and start to make forward plans to breathe the oxygen of genuine competition into our game.

Where is Michel Platini when football really needs some help?

Although its for differing reasons neither will 99% of the inhabitants of brigtin.

  4. We know that rfcaswas evaded taxes and promoted a culture of illegal contracts. These criminal practices bought the club great success. But the same practices put all rfc’s competitors at a huge disadvantage in both sporting and financial terms.

Now, the Scottish establishment is seeking to impose its own version of ‘The Sermon on the Mount’ – ‘afflict the afflicted and comfort the crooks’.

If Murray, Whyte, Duff, Phelps and Green were all proven to be members of a drugs cartel or human traffickers then Regan, Doncaster and the press would still be defending them – for the good of the game.

As the old cliché goes – the more things change the more they stay the same.

We were told if Rangers were liquidated it would be the end for Scottish football.

Liquidation happened and Scottish football continues.

We were told if the new club were not allowed into the SPL it would be the end for Scottish football.

The new club were refused a place in the top league and Scottish football continues.

We are now being told if the new club are not allowed into the First Division it will be the end of Scottish football.

The new club will be refused a place in the First Division and Scottish football will continue.

    Life is sweet.

We get promised these ole sensational scoops on a weekly basis, but they must disappear into some detour on the ole information superhighway, like the back road to Cumnock.

  9. The sooner the game in scotland is destroyed the better as far as I am concerned.

It’s in the huns genes to desrtoy what they can’t control, we are finished in scotland, the sooner we are under the english umbrella the better.

HMRC say Rangers Big Tax Case Tribunal decision is “not imminent – not for several weeks”. Why? They’re trying to find out.

No flavour/mode/variety/version/shade/type/kind/make of Hun will be playing professional football in Scotland next season.

Understand you can’t say too much at the moment- can you comment on

    1) Reliability of your source?

    2) Would this be another jelly and ice cream moment or something more concerning regarding the viability of the season starting in a few weeks?

    3) Is it be our way out?

personally i think it is to do with criminal cases to follow BDO & HMRCs autopsy of the carcass that was the huns.

  18. leftclicktic – Could be… If that’s the case then it could be years. The investigation into the chap that got 17 years today for Tax and NI fraud took 5 years. I guess we better not hold our collective breath

I thought that had already been established?

  20. fanadpatriot you know how to wind them up on here, one thing i heard a while back sir willie haughey is going to takeover celtic very soon

  21. I still reckon HMRC succumbed to political/establishment pressure to haud their weesht until the last possible moment and give sevco enough time to get sorted.

  22. sharing gate money from home fans is stupid idea and does not offer real opportunity to prosper for any of the clubs that want to develop and improve their own club.

i do think a greater share of commercial (shared) monies is one way to improve competition. getting a better deal is also a good idea

a larger league, with fewer games against celtic and newco (maybe) would help teams such as hearts, aberdeen etc get some form together, which breads confidence improving consistancy and winning runs, which improves interest from fans which increases income and so it goes on… the current league set up is a fix for celtic and oldco and is one of the main reason crowds have fallen all over the premier league

i think a 3 points for win, 2 points for score draw, 1 point for no sccore draw and 0 points for loss would also help to make the league more competitive and would take away the predictibility of our league, but would generate greater interest.
