Newco games bring the best out of McGregor

254

The absence of suspended Mikael Lustig on Sunday might convince Brendan Rodgers to go with a back three of Ajer, Compper and Simunovic, with Kieran Tierney and James Forrest playing wingback rolls.  With Scott Brown, Olivier Ntcham and Moussa Dembele certain to start, and Tom Rogic looking very likely, Brendan Rodgers’ options begin to look straightforward.

He will pair any two from Scott Sinclair, Odsonne Edouard, Eboue Kouassi and Callum McGregor.  Games against Newco seem to bring out the best in Scott and Callum, but both have missed out on selection recently.  I understand the call for Odsonne to partner Moussa up front, but, given a choice, I would rather see us control midfield than worry too much about the top of the pitch.

The Ibrox surface suits Callum McGregor’s playmaking ability.  Have him in there pulling the strings.

Stunning morning in the central Highlands. Brilliant azure skies, a blue we haven’t seen since last October. Sunshine refracting and reflecting and sparkling off of the snow that is lying all around. The mountain tops are keeking out of pockets of mist at lower levels. Just stunning…

… and only four more days until I get to watch the Govan Doppelgänger’s being dismantled by the famous Glasgow Celtic…

Difficult to argue with the points he raises, but I wish he would change his mind.

I wish Celtic would give them a reason to do so.

I’m in Belgrade at the moment & colleague of mine from Italy is looking for somewhere to watch the Juve game tonight.

Is there any posters with local knowledge (preferably of old town) & can recommend a pub that’ll be showing the game ?

  10. A wee update from etims regarding the petition being sent to Celtic to encourage them to contact the SFA Compliance Officer with a view to him divulging the outcome of his investigation into the awarding of a UEFA club licence to RFC in 2011.

Yes. it is difficult to find fault with Beppe’s comments.

The only part where I would question is with the level of compliance he suggests from Celtic.

Celtic operate in the football industry in Scotland and are subject to the SFA’s rules.

The pity is that another club is not subject to those rules.

I can understand the boycott call. In fact it is a weapon that should be used in certain circumstances.

Should we reach the cup final, the clamour for tickets will be great. This tells the SFA that they are doing great work and have produced an event of unrivaled popularity.

Similarly, the packed syands when Sevco come calling, tells the Celtic Board that this is what the fans’s want.

    So, what to do?

Leave Hampden empty of Celtic supporters and do likewise when the devil comes a calling.

Tough choices surely, but there is no other way to get the message across.

    Full stadiums spells happy customers.

Full stadiums condones the cheating and lies.

Just listening to last nights Snyde SSB. Gordon Dalziel is defending referees in particular and Willies Collum in particular, and is fairly generous in his praise. Around 41 minutes 21 seconds in, he finishes his point and Roger Hannah says, “I’m beginning to think that Andrew Dallas and Willie Collum have bought him a couple of lassies… he’s suddenly the referees’ pal”

What an absolutely bizarre thing to say on the radio.

Something, as a sports journalist in Scotland, that he has experience of? Maybe? allegedly?

It’s a recurring favoured accusation on JJ’s site.

Worth a listen anyway, just before that Dalziel says “Escape goats”

    :-)

Thanks to this site,I am in occasional contact with a number of people I otherwise wouldn’t be,many of whom I’m proud to class as friends. Despite my well-known antipathy towards the board,I have talked a fair few into hanging on in there, and renewing season tickets, etc.

I could never ever countenance nor advocate a Bhoycott of our club,no matter my feelings towards the board. I support Celtic, and that is how it is.

    But…

If I was living back home,I would agree with every word you say,and refuse to attend non-League games.

I think we’re in a cleft stick, mate. Swallowing principles isn’t in my nature, but neither is turning my back on my team.
