There will have been tired limbs at Lennonxtown when the players resumed full training yesterday after their exertions on Tuesday night but they will still be desperate to take to the field at Firhill on Sunday. This game is a necessary preparation ahead of the Amsterdam AreanA in 12 days.
We have an advantage for Amsterdam…..
Ajax are nip and tuck with a handful of clubs near the top of the Dutch league. They have three home games in the league and cup before facing Celtic and the pressure is on to win each of them. Ajax don’t have the ability to allow players extended recuperation time to ensure they are in pristine condition for Champions League duty, Celtic do.
I would rest everyone we don’t have good cover for. This is also a game for Nir Biton to start. The player needs to get back in the saddle as quickly as possible after Tuesday, he is also unlikely to see Champions League group stage action again this season.
After his international and other duties, Charlie Mulgrew would benefit from a rest. We don’t have sufficient cover for James Forrest and Beram Kayal, so send them away for the weekend.
Use every advantage possible.

Beebawbabbity. Livvybhoy….brief but very wise words as opposed to the extended drivel on the future career of this young man who has chosen the famous Glasgow Celtic to ply his trade. Am I the only one who wonders about the credentials of his ‘assessors’ and what kinda nick they are in as they discuss the pros and cons of the players athleticism?

I hope that Lenny gives a few of our fringe players a game on Sunday,Biton and Rogic in particular .but I would also introduce another two that I think we should consider giving game time to.Liam Henderson and Denny Johnstone.Surprised? Don’t be this bhoy is better than Tony Watt.

We have needed a 10 since Lubo left. There are kids with beards now who were born the day he left.
I am not talking utility players. I am talking about a poorly equipped sqaud. Progress, building. Our Spin Quack would say “seamless transition”
I would have made the decision to sign or,sell Tony before now. If. I was serious about football development or has Tony watts behaviour happened suddenly ?
This is due to Kevin Doyle not prepared to take a wage cut.
Profits are the only KPI at Celtic FC
Celtic are in a transition period in both the style of football we are playing and the type of player we want to be playing that football.
This kind of football requires intelligence and quality from the players used to move seamlessly from the the SPL humdrum to the higher end of the CL.
People who cannot see the qualitative improvements being made in the squad……..well its all about opinions I guess.
Does it occur to (some) that the players go out and play exactly as the manager tells them?
There is a depth to this squad that we have not seen for years….how else can you explain missing out on first team players and still beating Ajax?
Pukki ran his channel all night because his manager told him to and he covered the most Km of our players I believe?
I heard Balde is not getting regular starts because his English is not good or non existent but that could be just rumours.
This new squad is still gelling and you will not see the best of them until next season IMO when whatever element is missing will be added to with quality and intelligence.
Hooper no longer plays for Celtic and just to repeat….he done hee haw at CL level which is where we get our serious football exposure and recognition from, which I guess is why we took the 5M for him.
He had a good resale value and could not make an impact in the new playground that we now operate in.
Its all about “managing change” and we are doing an excellent job of it within the framework that we have to operate and flay our football.

– You are looking forward to a resolution calling on good governance failing! You look forward to watching Celtic supporters falling flat on their face! I reckon your blind faith is based on senility. You seem to take pleasure on being a door mat. Your a good Celtic fan as far as being blindly, faithful through and through but to wish ill on your fellow supports demonstrates that you are indeed a strange man. I get no joy from you being bent over and being shafted but you are gleefully looking forward to just that happening the majority of Scottish football supporters.

As a guy who watches the bulk of Celtic games via TV or square sausages, the TV fan often has the advantage in assessing an individual incident like a penalty or an off side but for general play and off the ball covering and pressing the guy who is watching live can see a lot more and make a better assessment of individual players contribution. To those who are having a bit of a go at Pukki following Tuesday’s game, I would ask the question were you at the game.
===============================================
Yes,always in attendance seen all of his games live.
Normally record and replay following day as TV does give good close ups, however as you say TV does not show the off ball movement as an opponent player moves to take a pass and should have his shadow with him.

Celtic support receives more praise in world poll
By: Newsroom Staff on 25 Oct, 2013 14:52
THE magnificent Celtic support excelled themselves once more with inspiring and valuable backing of the Hoops in Tuesday night’s vital 2-1 UEFA Champions League win over Dutch champions, Ajax.
The support at Paradise has received many plaudits from visiting players and managers over the years with icons such as Iniesta, Messi and Michel Platini among others praising the devotion of the Celtic support.
Fair Play awards from FIFA and UEFA have also been presented to the club in honour of the support and now well-respected French magazine on all things football, So Foot, have compiled a list of what they consider to the best 10 supports in world football and Celtic are placed at No.3 – indeed, they are the only British club on the list.
So Foot especially praises the Celtic support’s rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone and the fervour of the fans in backing their team.
Their full top 10 is:
1. Boca Juniors (Argentina)
2. Borussia Dortmund (Germany)
3. CELTIC (Scotland)
4. Raja Casablanca (Morocco)
5. Napoli (Italy)
6. Galatasaray (Turkey)
7. Athletic Club Bilbao (Spain)
8. Red Star (Serbia)
9. Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan)
10. Saint-Etienne (France)

Had you more information to work with you might, like a poster on TSFM, who also thought the resolution re UEFA licence was based on – lets call it misjudgement , change his mind to voting for the resolution rather than against once he had said information.
You can get such information from me in raw state by e mail via Paul or more easily read the latest The Scottish Football Monitor blog by BRTH or The Crystal Myth article on On Fields of Green.
You owe it to yourself to obtain as much information as you can before judging ( in fact we all do but a rush to judge without knowing is just so human) and I suggest you read TSFM for an easy to follow narrative.
I am confident that after reading you will vote for tbe UEFA resolutiin.
