Although Rangers won their case at the Court of Session today, they have the option not to serve the ruling on the SFA that its Judicial Panel’s 12 month ban on player registration is illegal. Winning the point in law might sound like a victory, but taking the Association to court breaks membership rules of the SFA, rules imposed on all associations by Fifa.
We will find out soon enough the reach of SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, who was one of the recipients of an EBT which precipitated Rangers crisis.
Rangers are deep in Sion territory now. Either they walk away from this showdown, the SFA expel or suspend them from football, or Fifa will shortly remind the SFA of their duties when a member club takes action in the civil courts.
Campbell Ogilvie was born for this moment; it justifies him holding onto his position all these months despite being “heavily conflicted”, according to his chief executive. I do not expect this to end well.
Despite an independent judicial panel ruling against Rangers, there is no way the office holders at the SFA will expel Rangers, no matter what they do. They would rather jeopardise the Scotland national team and every other club’s European participation.

ASonOfDan @ 19:27,
Is that correct? If so great but I thought the wording was (paraphrasing) “if a lighter sanction is imposed RFCia could not appeal”
Laird of the Smiles aka PMTYH @ 19:29,
It is a difficult one, if RFCia don’t withdraw (I’m not even sure that they can now, appealing a judgement you just won is bizarre) the SFA have the choice to be in contempt of Court or contravention of FIFA.
I’m sure a compromise around what you said must be worked out – R@ers are not going to play ball, as per…
TT
With respect your analogy is only one factor in the meeting of businesses. There are a multitude of reasons why Celtic might wish to meet with Green.
thats the 1st step of the huns walking away scot free from this pantomime ! at least the italians try to deal with underhand corruption unlike this shxthole of a country where cheating IN FRONT OF OUR VERY EYES seems to be acceptable ! mr lawwell and mr desmond time to flex our muscles over to you !! hail hail
Have I missed something?
Did Peter Lawwell actually meet Charles Green? When?

“…The SFA cannot back down and give them a lighter sentence like explusion from the SC – it is a condition of their CVA …”
The SFA could very well back down – if they feel that suspension or expulsion is too severe (I know!) then, presuming they abide by the CoS judgement, expulsion from the SC is a punishment that is open – SFA might think that is nice and tidy.
The impact of such a decision on any CVA proposal by RIA to its creditors should be of no relevance to the SFA.
Also – there is nothing to stop the Duffers from sending out a ‘revised’ CVA removing the stipulation relating to the SC.
However – the good thing is that none of this really matters – they are completely and utterly gubbed anyway!!!!
Hail Hail

Is there anything to stop Celtic applying to join/joining another league, handing in its notice to the SPL and playing a shadow team in the SPL, while the top team ploughed its furrow in another league … ?
Would that get past UEFA?
The SFA will just kick them out of the Scottish cup plain and simples.

What about our billionaire DD, can we not buy the stadium ourselves dirt cheap for the reserves, then rent it out for events, rock concerts, popes visits, GAA matches, rugby stadium etc. They haven’t the cash and with one seasons £10-15m champions league money we have another revenue stream easy………………….
Sixteen Roads to Golgotha @ 19.41,
I knew the story that you recounted about Monte Cassino. Kesselring kept his word in this case – but can you blame the Allies for not believing him?

They need OUR money we decide. If they cannot live without us for a winter break they will soon sit up and take notice. The same thing that is driving it now. The governance is at UEFA level with ECA participation.
In the Meantime we can play ina schools league.
It is about witnessing an honest game of football.

Ahem, his wife is the big in that relationship
I’m pretty sure i know what the SFA will do now, suspend RFC membership for a considerable period of time, say 2 months, Just in time for the new season !!!!
It will all be immaterial by then anyway as they are the archtects of their own downfall and will hopefully be dead by then.
Still no word on the North Atlantic league.
Can anyone tell me how it is possible for an independent panel containing a legal expert apply a sanction ( ie transfer embargo)when it is not in the rule book? Are they Fick or just incompetent? Or is this another cunning plan dreamt up by the Hampden heroes to protect the forces of darkness?

there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the news that more is to come out about Rangers and the seriousness of what is still to be revealed.
the first thing however is to dispel some of the wider rumours that have been doing the rounds.
this is not about match fixing, its not about bribing referees, its not about political interference , its not about banks behaving inappropriately or illegally .
I have absolutely no knowledge of any of these things. It is also highly unfair that individuals who have not been involved in any wrongdoing are speculated about. As i posted earlier the information I alluded to is not my story. I can therefore only provide a little bit of information at this time. When I am allowed to I will post more. Timing is not in my control.
The BBC documentary touched on EBT beneficiaries and the amounts they received. The nuclear information takes this further. I am able only to give you this initial bit of information just now, however the significance is enormous .
“Graeme Souness received much more than just the 30k Mark Daly mentioned. Rangers supporters, Scottish football administrators, and the legal authorities in Scotland deserve to know why he received this money a decade after leaving Rangers’ employment?”
Maybe Mr Souness could enlighten us, or maybe one his chums in the MSM could provide him with a platform to deny this.

I was rummaging through a bag containing old photos, when I came across one taken of my son and I with Paolo’s famous Golden Boots.
The photo was taken in Mulhearn’s Corner Bar in Dungloe, when said boots were on tour.
It wasn’t you who had the winning bid for them, was it?
Can i have a raspberry on that, nice one wonder how “wee sammy” is taking his celebrity status, the orcs are not happy with him!
Biggest surprise of the day? Sammy’s married.

Your miles off the mark. If Celtic had been vociferous in any way, we’d be getting the blame for all or some of this. Given the huns propensity to visit violence on those who oppose the bizarre reality in which they live, I would be extremely surprised if we’d said anything EVER. Even after they’ve died.
Sorry bub but Celtic and Lawell have played this exactly right. You just have to accept that rangers are dead and move on I’m afraid. Personally I can cope with it. :))))))

I realise that your offer to Oldtim is meant with the intention of helping him ,in his hour of need, but as one who is in the senior years of life,I feel I must offer my assistance to you in this dangerous route you have offered to embark on.
I feel that with my long experience of wine tasting,I could maybe take over the tasting of the Red,then the White and I could endeavour to sample some Rossi.
I don’t expect any hiccups in my offer to you and Oldtim.

The club versus country debate just
acquired a new meaning on Planet Fitba .
Now the people at the head of the SFA have
a decision to make that they never thought
that they would even have to consider.
There is a hierarchy of needs when it comes
to the affairs of professional football.
The country always comes first.
FIFA will expect the SFA to uphold the writ
of Planet Football.
In taking their association to court Rangers
transgressed massively in the eyes of FIFA.
The world governing body will expect swift
and sever retribution.
However, those FIFA boys don’t grasp that
we are discussing “the Rangers” and that
rules in Scotland are just really for all the
other clubs.
Of course one of the people discussing this
shambles should be enjoying this fine
gardening weather.
The fact that Campbell Ogilvie is still in the
building tells you all you need to know
about the SFA.
If people in the blue half of Glasgow think
this is a massive victory for their disgraced
club I have a one word riposte:
“Sion”.
Glover on 29 May, 2012 at 19:50 said:
You have got ask yourself, why would they have taken this action knowing that the result would lead to a direct confrontation with the SFA? Perhaps this is the plan and they will then have someone else to blame for their predicament.
………………………………………………..
Reading back, I was working towards the same conclusion as your good self.
Howevah, it could also have been a strategy more widely contrived
The SFA, and all the other brotherly players, know RIA are gubbed……..
How do they get them back into the SPL next season, in fact, before the fixtures are announced…………
They expel them immediately……
RIA disappear, and come back, under green, as FUD LOYAL quickly, apply for membership of the SPL, it goes to a vote by the clubs, and ‘Billy’s your uncle’
And, while they are playing back in the SPL, green battles away with all the creditors for years too come…..
LOTS OF LOL……. I know I am being rather simplistic hear, but I would not put it passed them to be up to something ……. Interesting weeks ahead
And through it all, they’re embarrassing themselves more each day, the lot of them…….

thomthethim CQN (genuine) Badge Wearer – Unfortunately it wasn’t me, they’d b worth a few quid now. Nice part of the country Dungloe particularly in this weather, reminds me of my summer holidays in Ireland, great days. Who else on here I wonder visited Ireland as a kid and where?
Sammy the Govan “not so bright” spark is merried?
Why does my mind conjure up the big red heid (wae the build a Geoff Capes) in that Irn Bru ad?
It occurred to me today how much Sky have to thank the footballing industry for, and how much they benefit from the peculiar legal and financial structure of football. And, by extension, how much they might themselves be irked by any club which challenges this structure.
It also occurred to me that Sky have the potential to influence any newco vote by making a clear statement that their TV deal will remain on the table, regardless of whether rangers are present in the league or not.
I’ve long lamented the cosy commercial cabal which is football governance, but just for once it might produce something positive. Sky have an opportunity to send a clear message to scottish (and english) clubs; they, just like FIFA and UEFA, don’t want anyone challenging a relationship which is working just fine, thank you very much.

ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON……
My prediction:
Rangers have now forced the SFA to suspend or expel them from the SPL, in order to avoid damaging sanctions from FIFA.
The club will then liquidate, avoiding payment of it’s huge debts.
Newco will be accepted straight back into the SPL with Rangers’ squad, stadium, training facliities and other assets.
The SPL wil carry on as “normal”.
just read this on RTC, sorry if it been posteed previously…
Duff + Phelps warns #Rangers debenture holders to think twice before claiming under the CVA as they will lose their rights to their seats
A suspended club is also banned from all football activities including transfers.
I will say it again people. Fifa have stated rangers are to accept the original decision and face a further punishment from the SFA for going to court.
They have commited footballing suicide today.

Lucky cody/Tiny tim,
where exactly do you get your information regarding how Peter Lawell will vote and where or when we had a meeting with the bold Mr green,my suggestion is that you know no more than me and just want to use the boards silence to have a go at them,if Paul67 says we wont vote for newco then thats good enough for me,unless you pair have better sources
XAVI, celtic like barcalona are more than a football club . our clubs are a symbol of a culture and community that has not always been made welcome in their respective countries!! how very true ! we would be dead and buried if we had done what the huns HAVE !
