Ogilvie was born for this moment as SFA to consider expelling Rangers

877

Although Rangers won their case at the Court of Session today, they have the option not to serve the ruling on the SFA that its Judicial Panel’s 12 month ban on player registration is illegal.  Winning the point in law might sound like a victory, but taking the Association to court breaks membership rules of the SFA, rules imposed on all associations by Fifa.

We will find out soon enough the reach of SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, who was one of the recipients of an EBT which precipitated Rangers crisis.

Rangers are deep in Sion territory now.  Either they walk away from this showdown, the SFA expel or suspend them from football, or Fifa will shortly remind the SFA of their duties when a member club takes action in the civil courts.

Campbell Ogilvie was born for this moment; it justifies him holding onto his position all these months despite being “heavily conflicted”, according to his chief executive.  I do not expect this to end well.

Despite an independent judicial panel ruling against Rangers, there is no way the office holders at the SFA will expel Rangers, no matter what they do. They would rather jeopardise the Scotland national team and every other club’s European participation.

The possible one way out of this for the SFA is to revisit the judgement of both tribunals and expel the huns this may be a way of appeasing FIFA.

The SFA must now deal with two matters: 1) original charge of disrepute, 2) civil action by Rangers.

Could possibly kill 2 birds with one stone. It is already very messy and is about to get even messier. As I stated earlier this is about FIFA/UEFA preserving how they do business.

Rangers have committed football suicide today by their actions (as if they already hadn’t).

The SFA and the blazers face losing their cushy trips abroad with the National team and losing the world cup qualification place for Scotland as well as 5 other Scottish club sides from UEFA competitions because of petulant filthy behaviour from the shame of our game.

This sentence from FIFA can be forever and the SFA know it. By making the punishment and appealing it and losing Rangers have handed the SFA a tonne of hawners to come in and finish the job.

The 5 other Scottish clubs in Europe, Craig Levein (although he should be sacked) and countless other future generations of Scottish players future’s are being put in jeopardy because Rangers and their halfwit leaders cannot accept they cheated.

They have not been punished enough. It isn’t even close.

They only had the laws applied to them as they are written down and they know it.

The Nuclear option has been taken and retaliation from FIFA is going to be Sion the sequel.

    Their idiocy knows no bounds.

The SFA cannot back down and give them a lighter sentence like explusion from the SC – it is a condition of their CVA.

Dead Parrot FC just got it’s feet un-nailed from its perch.

    Wakey Wakey.

  6. Celtic are the biggest club in Scotland now ; If the next 24 hours sees the SFA do nothing and spl vote in newco the silent approach has failed. ( in Delhi just now so not sure if the spl vote is still on for tomorrow).

Lawwell first objective and 2nd objective are the same : 1. Celtics financial well being 2. His bonus

Like Doncaster his bonus is dependent on RIA being in the league ; cynical, but that’s the way the game works and I would do the same in that position.

As a supporter , shareholder ( and with 4 season tickets , yep did renew after pestering from sons ) , I want our CEO to behave like a supporter. He will take a call from Dermot, give his input ( what DD wants to her ) and go along with newco and SFA compliance.

We will go into a cycle of it’s the same old Hun SFA , followed by our financial model will kill them off like last 10 years, before the mibs and sponsorship brings them quickly to trophies again.

I paint a bleak picture as Lawwell has a fairly good view of how this will pan out and is going with the flow.

    Silence is not golden now.

  7. “FIFA will closely monitor the situation so that the issue is resolved as fast as possible.” quote unquote!!

  8. If they shameless jeopardize every other Scottish club’s livelihood it should at least sharpen the minds ahead of the vote on Newco. Stupid huns.

  9. The Fifa threat to SFA of expulsion/punish the Scotland international team holds no water:

The SFA have already done that by promoting Levein as the head coach.

Indeed. The strange thing is that ze Gremans were true to their word – Our heroes did not manage to inflict one casualty on the German Army as a result of the bombing raids, because…well because there was no German soldiers in the abbey, just as they said there would not be.The only beings that were in the abbey were local civilians seeking refuge, and a few monks.

And to make matters worse…two days after the bombing, German paratroopers took up positions in the ruins; the destruction caused by the bombing and the resulting jagged wasteland of rubble gave troops improved protection from air and artillery attack making it a more viable defensive position.

My fear as the vote draws closer, were Celtic to abstain, what if the voting was more close than painted by MSM, and to a certain extent ‘paranoid’ us?

Celtic have a two year notice period to serve, whilst finding another league, – what policy do Celtic privately harbour at present?

It’s looking more and more like Celtic in the SPL with them, and outvoted, with every passing day, as liquidation becomes chrystal clear.

Not palatable, for me and thousands of others returning to Pau67’s ‘smaller still successful Celtic’.

What is the Celtic plan after we abstain?

  21. About 4 years ago,i was made an approach by a rival business to merge.

I did not want to do it under any circumstances.Their business was struggling and mine was thriving. They requested a meeting with my partner and me.

I wanted to turn down the meeting,my partners view was that it would do no harm to listen to what they had to say.

We had the meeting, then declined the offer.

It was a waste of time.

A few months ago i made an approach to by a successful business.

The owner refused the meeting and said that he had no intention of ever selling his family business and that he would be passing it on to his kids when the time was right.

So he categorically refused to meet me,or even discuss any proposals that i had.

Why is this in my mind?

Well if doing business is in your mind ,you meet.

If Celtic have met with Green then they have ALREADY shown that they are willing to do business with Green if it suit’s their needs.

Celtic may say publicly that they are agin The Rangers ,but IF they have met with Green, then they are open to doing business with them .

It’s just about the terms thereafter.

Agree with every word of that. They should abstain and bring their lawyers to the post vote press conference. Suing UEFA citing the FFP as being restrictive to business.

I fear the thought of losing the Old Firm will prove too much for them including Celtics dodgy NO vote.

    ********

    Where would we sue?

Clubs can’t sue the football authorities.

It may have to be a shareholder who would be free to take such action.

Someone like Denis O’Brien, who is a SH, but not a director of the club.

I don’t understand how the FFP rules would be restrictive to our business.

I would imagine any case we would have would be based on the improper governance of the SFA and the intimidation of employees and supporters of the club, i.e. the Derry City scenario.

was at Chester at the weekend. Slaughtered! A funny story from there right enuff tho’ it may land me in trouble with the PC brigade. I shall tell you anyway :-)

Outside my hotel on Sat night after races having a smoke, when I get approached by an English fella. Asks me for a light, then says ” can I keep this lighter” I say “naw”. He says “I will fight you for it” I keep the heid (unusually) and tell him just to gimme the lighter back. After a few verbal exchanges he hands it over. So…I already know he’s an arse but what he came out with next had me struggling to keep a straight face.

He asks me how I did at the races. I tell him…terrible. Hammered. He says “I had a good win on the last”. I inform him I left after the 7th race pissed off with backing losers so didn’t see the last.

“Ah, I shall tell you why I backed the last winner” he says. “My daughter is 8 months pregnant. The father was blown up and killed in a tank. You must have read about him?”

I said to him I didn’t recall the incident but that it was sad.

He says “well, that’s the only reason I backed that last winner, because of his name”

I told him “Oh” , I missed the last race, as I said, what was the name of the last winner?”

    His reply??

    “LUCKY DAN”
