One team in Glasgow

287

The stage is set for a magnificent Celtic occasion but these days often don’t go to plan.  Celtic are champions, solvent, united and planning for Champions League qualification next season.  Their opponents are none of these things but they remain a formidable team who have four and three goals past Celtic on two occasions this season.

Anyone who thinks tomorrow will be a procession is palpably wrong, Rangers will present as great a challenge as Celtic have faced since slipping out of the Europa League.  Out opponents will be motivated by the enormous events taking place in their club at the moment; they are playing for self-respect.

Rangers are also a conundrum; both robust and fragile.  Elbows McCulloch will stamp his brand of influence all over the field, the chances of no Celtic player picking up an injury are low, but at the same time, touch them in and around the Celtic box and they will collapse in a heap.

We can hope for a big win but any win will do.

One* team in Glasgow,
There’s only one team in Glasgow.

I’d prefer that MacKay Stevens and Russell stay where they are and develop.

We need some competition next season AND we know no other Scottish clubs can buy them.

This might sounddaft but, for the next couple of years at least I hope that we don’t sign any of the better SPL players. I’d rather we improved our team fro (a) our own youths and (b) outside of the SPL in the hope that the other SPL teams remain strong and we have a decent competitive league without Them.

I do realise the obvious flaw in my argument is that the better players will instead be signed up by perhaps Championship teams etc but I hope you see what I’m getting at.

  5. Can someone explain if Kennedy & Murray were putting in a joint bid why didn’t they put in over £20m ?

I see one of the creditors is Slaters in Howard Street to the tune of £688. I know fat Sals put on some weight but thats a ridiculous price to pay for 1 suit. Maybe he should have went to Blacks of Greenock.

  10. Caught a bit of Cosgrove & Cowan earlier, don’t really like them, but this was a cracker.

Cosgrove—- I hear the skint mob are having a sponsored walk round IPox.

Cowan—-I hope the JCBs don’t get in their way.

  11. It’s seems a big turnout, would have thought a tiny bit different about it if they were just saying, they cared about their team and what was happening, but to walk behind banners about jobs, when they shut all their stores and haven’t paid their taxes, makes me angry again.

Agree with you point with us developing and bringing up the younger players, but I’d still like to see the young Dun Utd lads here instead of Bangura, Brozek etc

Hooivelt has played well with Southampton by all accounts this season (as has Danny Fox) but neither set the heather alight at Celtic and I certainly don’t remember anyone complaining when we sold them.

  14. D&P lackey on Shortbread just now.

Windy Miller seeking assurances to his demands from the footballing authorities – All will be revealed in ten coming week when he will finally decide whether to bid, but C&P reckon it will be acceptable to creditors – How does he know that?

Baron Knights might or might not be more money than Miller’s…

Both bids loaded with conditions – ie, no footballing penalties.

D&P discussing penalties with SFA/SPL – How can this be permitted? Penalties to be applied are not a negotiation!

HMRC don’t know (or don’t want to tell) the date of the BTC reveal.

So that was 5 minutes of my life I’ll never get back…

No idea what we got for Hooiveld. But he’s really done the business at Southampton and has also chipped in with 8 goals. Pity he wasn’t give a run of games for Celtic.

  16. listening to one of the administrators on Shortbread, this is now just a farce. This guy must be from the Flat Earth Society, the Orcs might swallow this tosh but anyone with half a brain-obviously discounts 1000,s of them- can see through this waffle. Hail Hail Hebcelt

    ————————

I suspect this means they have asked SFA/SPL if they can discuss it. I hope they got a resolute ‘no’.

You don’t have a panel make a decision and end up being threatened as a result just to overturn the decision because D&P ask you to.

  18. TBK/kennedy bid rejected. Now there’s a surprise that it wasn’t going to be accepted by creditors.

What was it worth, £13m but of that £8m going to debenture holders leaving £5m for creditors. Oh and don’t forget D&P fees which will likely be close to £3m by the time this finishes.

That leaves £2m for creditors and as all secured creditors get paid first (and we still don’t know that liability) there will be little or nothing left for unsecured creditors.

And all this before any tax case liability is confirmed.

and this we are confident of authorities of removing any block via

  21. sparkleghirl – Absolutely… A discussion about penalties to be applied is non-nonsensical – The penalties are as prescribed in the rules

He’s basically saying that the TBK bid is not good enough and suggesting that creditors would get more from liquidation.

If Miller’s bid becomes unconditional he has suggested they will accept it.

Yes, it apparently isn’t enough – by quite a distance by the sound of it. So they are being asked to put in one that means the creditors get more (rather than less) than they via liquidation.

Administrators also still saying they need unconditional bids….

Worryingly TBK_BK said yesterday that it was their “best and final” bid …..

This really does not sound encouraging -unless we have a higher bid and the conditions cleared up.

BBQ sport sound . Bill millers bid significantly higher the the Baron knights. Closer to £5m than the 12 by miller. And from how the administrator put it, gave me the impression it fell short of that. Staggeringly, discussions with spl and sfa have been ongoing. Now wether it’s bluster by the administrator, he reckons close to a deal.

Also reading between the lines, administrator whitehouse seems to be saying Paul Murray is at it

It’s just crossed my mind listening to jabba say what is bill millers motivation, what is Paul murrays motivation? Is it possible, he wants to drag this out so they liquidate before the tribunal rule against them, thus exposing his role in the use of ebts? There is now way, he or his consortium can get anywhere near a cva.

Jardines on now. Jesus wept. Isn’t he bringing his club into disrepute? Can the sfa take action against him or will it be against the club. Shocking threats by this facecomber.

  25. “What? Our best and final offer has been rejected? OK we will go and prepare another one..”

So is there a deadline for the offer after the final one? And does Bill Miller get a chance to put in another bid after his final one too? But if he does then do the Blue Knights get a chance to counter with a really, really final offer?

Come on HMRC. Here’s the plug – pull!
