Oops, we forgot about Sevco 5088

930

We are all familiar with brinksmanship; adopting what seems like an uncompromising position despite acute potential consequences.  Correspondence recently released around the goings-on at Rangers International and associated companies suggests at least two combative parties have been edging towards the brink since last year.  Now it is clear they are both well over the brink, it’s too late for either to back down.

The conclusion of Pinsent Masons’ report was released to the stock market this morning and found “no evidence that Craig Whyte had any involvement with Sevco Scotland Limited (now called The Rangers Football Club Limited), the company which ultimately acquired the business and assets of The Rangers Football Club P.L.C. from its administrators; nor which would suggest that Craig Whyte invested in The Rangers Football Club Limited or Rangers International Football Club plc”.

All of which, sharp-eyed observers will note, is exactly what Mr Whyte is so animated about.

Let me run through that list of companies which Mr Whyte was not involved with again:

Sevco Scotland Ltd: check
AKA The Rangers Football Club Ltd: check
Rangers International Football Club PLC: check
Sevco 5088 Ltd: wait a minute, they missed out Sevco 5088 Ltd!!

This is where the project resembles trying to push water uphill:

Rangers International plc claim Sevco 5088 Ltd is a subsidiary of theirs.

Mr Whyte claims to be a director and beneficiary of Sevco 5088 Ltd.

Pinsent Masons’ report’s published conclusion fails to comment on Mr Whyte’s status in connection with Rangers International’s claimed subsidiary company, Sevco 5088 Ltd.

The SFA prohibited the new associate member club from having any connection with Mr Whyte.  Last week the SFA chief executive acknowledged the seriousness of the club potentially breaking the conditions of membership, but said the Association would await the outcome of the Pinsent Masons’ report.  The published conclusions of which does not address the question.

Rangers International have just dared the SFA to act.  They are familiar with the tactics of brinksmanship, however….

Just in case you are new to this subject…..

Hell will freeze over before any football association with Campbell Ogilvie as president will act on this matter.  “Heavily conflicted” Campbell will ensure his board take no action.

I was delighted to read one man who knew exactly what he was dealing with when he took on the SFA.  Echoing the comments made here yesterday, Fergus McCann said:

“Filling Celtic Park against Barcelona or Spartak or Rangers is the easy part.

“The part that really counts is consistent support at every game at Celtic Park and that will deliver the top-level matches.

“My time at the Croy CSC reminds me of the importance of dedicated support.

“The members knew that their role was vital, especially in the hard times.”

The future of our club is very much in our own hands and these are important times to fill out Celtic Park.

Waterstones, Stirling, 5-7pm TODAY!

I’ll be at Waterstones, Stirling, with Willie Wallace from 5pm until 7pm this evening.  Willie will be available for photographs and signing copies of his autobiography, Heart of a Lion.  If you’re from the area, call in, I’ll see you there.

Many thanks to all who bought tickets for the Celtic top signed by the Seville squad, we sold out last night.  Thanks also to those who are bidding on the fabulous signed Messi top, you still have a few days left to get involved.  The spirit of Walfrid is alive and well 125 years on.

If we accept this without a fight, then that is the end of football in Scotland.

Oh for a Bob Kelly or a Fergus McCann – even with all their faults – at a time like this.

Over to you Dermot and your fellow Celtic board members!

    HH!!

    IMHO

Walter smith is at the stage now he is the “spivs B***h” to do with as they please or they will turn the “crime scene to dust”.

Green & Ahmed hold all the aces and it is a boardroom war, with Smith doing what he has to because they are not going away empty handed, so play the game our way and help sell season books or we pull the plug.

The fun over at the “crime scene ” still has a long way to run yet.

    IMHO of course.

Funny how they all do is release statements none of them can look anybody in the eye.

What’s the problem you have with First Utility, (henceforth called FU).

I’ve been with FU for about 4 years and haven’t really needed to contact them.

Saying that, the chairman was on TV the other day saying the prices were going up 15% so after I get my loyalty cheque in October, I’ll be looking for the cheapest supplier.

Here’s a question, why don’t the Scottish establishment just call people of Irish catholic decent – nigger ?

Why has C4 not made this obvious connection, is it British intelligence ?

    stevebhoy + praecepta,

Contrary to the Song, there is not and never has been a Glasgow Celtic, as Walfrid wanted a name that would “..encompass a wide constituency, unconstricted by the narrow bounds of a city.

He also had a desire to avoid a clear classification as an Irish club, names such as Emerald, Harp and Hibernia(ns) were put forward and he rejected them all.

Apparently he may have been swayed towards this thinking by Michael Davitt, who felt a kinship with the Scots, particularly the Highlanders, who suffered similarly to the Irish.

Hence the name The Celtic Football and Athletic Club.

I cant find any mention of St Anthony’s (not that, that means it isnt true!) only that the original white strip with the green and red Celtic Cross was donated by Penman Brothers a sports chop in Bridgeton of all places!

The green-and White stripes came into place at beginning of 1889 intime for the newly formed Scottish Football League in 1890/1891……..with blue, yes BLUE knee-length shorts!

I am still confident the truth will come out, and that Justice will prevail……..if not, what is the point of ‘society’ …….the HMRC appeal and BDO outcomes will, at least allow all other Clubs in Scotland to plan for the future of the ‘sport’ / game in this Country….or….it will allow them wipe out their debts ‘at a stroke’, using the oldco / sevco ‘template’ (it could also be used across World Football….!!!!)

Be careful where all your corruption is leading, those of you who put money before honesty / justice and integrity…….

One thing is for sure, if this corruption triumphs, we need to get out of here ……!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Is that offensive ?

Is it only offensive because I used the word “nigger” (stupid only please)

Or is it offensive because you live in denial ?

Which is a thing that couldn’t happen in the modern balanced society that is Britain ?

  12. ttt

I think you are correct. The earlier discussion was about how to pronounce ‘Celtic’. My old dad preferred to say ‘Keltic’.

This reflects the fact that we have a history. Other clubs may not be so fortunate. You can only pronounce ‘Sevco’ one way…

    Hail Hail!

  13. Can’t help thinking that this was more or less the plan all along.

Murray was a good appointment because he reassured the banks and City types in advance of a share issue. He provided cover for the snake oil salesmen Green and Ahmad.

But the last thing they wanted was someone asking too many questions as their plans progressed. They knew about MM’s, erm, “little problem” and knew they could use it against him when he became a nuisance.

Meanwhile “Walter” was already in place, there to sooth the nerves of the world’s most stupid football fans, and encourage them to part with their cash (again). And as an added bonus he won’t have a clue what Green and Ahmad are really up to.

The road is clear for them to be utterly horsed again.

Cue fat bewildered faces in Govan, serious frowns from the morons in the MSM, and wailing moans like “We jist want sum-buddy tae lead us!”

Has anyone in the SFA actually said WHY the Five-Way Agreement cannot be published? I mean, surely if it’s all above-board then why not let the supporters, clubs and all stakeholders see it?

Otherwise people will (naturally) be suspicious of what it contains.

Stewart Regan said last week: “We will be managing Rangers as we manage all our clubs.”

So, do all clubs have secret agreements pertaining to their membership status?

  17. Hail Hail everyone from a sun drenched Glasgow.

    Some thoughts for tonight:

Paul67 – due to the title of the article, every page I move to flashes up “Oops” in the corner of the reloaded tab making me think Chrome has crashed. But a great article. Who do we turn to when an organisation makes a mockery out of our chosen sport?

I liked Miku in the most of the games I saw him play in a Celtic shirt. I liked him when I saw him in La Liga. But for me, although he has a different physicality from Hooper, he plays the same position and Neil isn’t going to drop Hooper for him.

What is Lassad’s position? Every time I saw him, he was on the right or through the middle.

Bojan is away back to Barcelona. Small guy but a real poacher. Maybe too small for our league?

I mentioned his name last year but I really rate Somen Tchoyi as a big guy upfront. He is on a free and has been playing in Germany this year for Ausberg. He used to play for West Brom.

Jan Moravek (£1-2m) for behind Hooper – although Dylan should be given a shot there if Kris isn’t fit.

I can’t imagine Neil will get much of a break. A manager of a top club works 24-7/365. With the CL qualifiers so early and players to keep/players to move on/players to buy he will be busy beyond belief!

Iago is apparently signing for Liverpool from Celta. Cracking player.

Paul67 – It was really great having Willie Wallace on the blog yesterday. Are there any plans to have more Celtic Legends on CQN for a Q&A? I can imagine BBJ co-hosting the quiz!

Good positive random thoughts ghuys and a big HAIL HAIL wherever you are tonight!

  18. While I understand and accept that the huns are the thickest, and most gullable fans the world has ever seen, what I can’t get the head around, is that there are huns out there with brains, the self same huns who run the judiciary, the police, the government, the media, the football authorities……..

And not a single one of them can do anything about the debacle that is happening to them.

I read that keltic with a K was an invention of Glasgow university history deparent, specifically offered to undermine the Celtic movement gathering around the club.

Kilbowie Kelt has resisted this argument a few times with the same drivel about pronunciation, but continually fails to produce two pertinent peices of evidence-

    Canamalar,

“Since the mid-twentieth century, English speakers have developed a tendency to pronounce the word with a hard “k”; although both pronunciations are acceptable. As Celtic culture is often discussed in academic circles, one interesting theory is that a form of intellectual snobbery has developed in the UK that has led to the pronunciation of Celtic, when referring to the culture and the history, with a hard “k”, purely to distinguish it from the football club”
