Overwhelming benefits of being organised

635

St Mirren’s late goal at Ibrox yesterday was as welcome as it was unexpected, but it means little for us.  It was only the fourth league goal Rangers have conceded all season and Celtic almost conceded a fourth goal in the final minutes against Kilmarnock.  Four goals conceded in 11 games is championship winning form.

Rangers are certainly not a European-standard team at the moment but they are overwhelmingly organised.

We’re in trouble.

RTC thinks the resignation of Grieg and the other non exec director is down to liability cover not being paid for. Not a bad guess when every pound is a prisoner.

  4. STV news

Neil Lennon could be set to ring the changes in defence ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash with Rennes after seeing his team concede three goals at Kilmarnock.

Charlie Mulgrew’s slack back-pass was punished by James Fowler to score the home side’s third before the defender made amends by heading home the equaliser.

Daniel Majstorovic also endured another difficult afternoon, failing to deal with a long ball for the Ayrshire men’s opener as Celtic fought back from three goals down to earn a point.

And that has led Lennon to consider recalling with Glenn Loovens, Thomas Rogne and Mark Wilson for the match in north-west France.

Striker Gary Hooper’s ankle knock, sustained in the first half at Rugby Park, will be assessed while Lennon hopes Georgios Samaras will overcome a bruised bone to play some part in the game.

Midfielder Kris Commons is also available for selection after missing the weekend’s match due to suspension.

Anthony Stokes got Celtic back into the match with a double and says the game isn’t viewed as a nuisance by the players.

He said: “We want to give a good account of ourselves.

“It’s good experience for the lads who haven’t played in it before and we have to look at every game as one to take positives from, so we want will go over there and try to get a result.”

CAN I PICK YOUR PROFESSIONAL BRAINS,PLEASE?

My mate’s father has been told that his prostate cancer, which had been in remission, has not only flared up again, but spread to his kidneys.

I’m sure I read that this is virtually untreatable, but thankfully haven’t found any proof of this anywhere I have looked.

Obviously I haven’t mentioned my suspicions to either of them, but can you please set my mind at ease and confirm that I must have got the info mixed up?

I know you will prefer not to get involved in this type of online request, but it’s difficult to ignore the possibility that my memory, for once,is correct.

  12. I hope people do not start banging on about John Greig and the other guy leaving them. It is completely irrelevant to us and our situation.

They are not getting punished for their cheating any time soon so wait until you see the tanks at the staircase.

Our focus should be on Celtic.

  13. Just heard from the Sheriff Court that John Greig has applied to have all the confiscated Peperamis in the Rangers vaults frozen. Sheriff Delia Smith, after demanding to know “Who are you?!”, said that Peperami’s, unlike meat, bread or even milk, cannot be frozen and should have been consumed by the date stamped on the packaging. Failure to do so has rendered them worthless. News of this was passed to Court Rooms 2 and 3 where Martin Bain’s and Donald McIntyre’s lawyers immediately passed the findings into evidence and argued that with the Peperamis off the Balance Sheet insolvency would be confirmed. Sheriff Bobby Lennox commented that it was with interest that the Peperamis had been brought to the Court’s attention by Mr Greig and that the strap line “a bit of an animal” could be applied to both the evidence itself and the purveyor of it.

Mr Whyte was seen to leave the court at speed, one reported sighting suggesting he was asking random members of the public gallery about the sell by date of green straws and having missed the earlier proceedings was hysterically demanding to know if the animal to which Sheriff Lennox referred to was a gorilla and had it been set free.

    More as we get it.

  14. Telegraph states kayal close to signing four year deal with celts agreeing to double his wages. Thought kayal was a great player second half of last season. If he does sign i hope double wages equals double commitment from what i saw on saturday. No doubt a fit and motivated kayal would be a huge asset for us.

    Yeah.

Because the possibility of the huns going bust doesn’t influence the way the Celtic board operate. Not even a little bit.

So, as you say, it’s all irrelevant.

  18. I posted on saturday that i’d never play Kayal again after his performance or lack of it against Kilmarnock. Digesting info, rumours etc etc i’m now thinking that we’re all like mushrooms, kept in the dark etc. Brown,Ledley and Commons are i believe on comparable salaries, Kayal is not and by a fair bit according to some.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2003637/Celtics-Beram-Kayal-hires-Pini-Zahavi.html

Whilst i understand the boards need to keep a lid on wage costs, when it becomes detrimental to the team on the pitch, well. I’m now beginning to think that Kayal changed his agent because his original one Dudu Dahan wasn’t up to the task of dealing with corporate Celtics negotiator, his cousin, Hamoudi Kayal wasn’t either and the player then brought in Pini Zahavi, someone who wouldn’t be browbeaten or overawed by Celtic plc. The only recourse open to Kayal was indifference on the pitch, a la Shaun Maloney going from PotY to zero before leaving for Villa, this is what Zahavi will have told him to do, despicable and hellish i know but what about our boards role in this too?

Kayal deserves to get a comparable wage to the other midfielders mentioned as will Wanyama next summer if he becomes as important to the team as Kayal has. In summation i believe our injury crisis, rumours of dissent and contractual wrangles leading to a ‘loss of form’ by certain players have forced the boards hand here and it smells of duplicity towards us the fans by playing fast and loose with the team on the pitch. That said if we were playing well top of the league and without long term injuries to important players then i don’t think Kayal would’ve got what he wanted.

He mentioned it in general terms because, like his lack of bottle to put his name to a, compiled-list of honest mistakes during the BTM term, and his lack of bottle to deal with Bill Leckie when BL said that, “Celtic fans coughed through-out the mins silence” at Ipox in January and, his lack of bottle when the BBC pis#ed all over the Celtic fans reputation during the SCF against Murderwell, he didn’t have the bottle to specify, TBOTOB much like he didn’t have the bottle to say that he was refusing to sign the new, Government anti-Celtic fan initiative. IMO!
