Playing with an eye on your next gig, bold use of Latin

845

I don’t like playing games when players have transfer or contract business swirling around the dressing room.  Give a team an excuse to underperform and they tend to grab it, so I expect a difficult challenge at Easter Road tomorrow.  If we want to maintain our unbeaten run and two month old clean sheet record we’ll need to bring our A game.

Neil Lennon’s comments at yesterday’s media conference, about potentially dropping players who plan to leave in the summer, point in this direction.  Few manage to perform with an eye on their next gig.

Well done to the new regime at Newco Rangers who used Latin in their stock market announcement yesterday.  There was no “ex-gratia” payment to resigning director, Brian Stockbridge, who instead had his contract paid up.

Paying Stockbridge in full is hardly a money saver but with him not around it will sweeten the medicine others will have to take and allow a fresh angle to be pitched to supporters at season ticket renewal time.  Let’s hope their manager sticks to his contractual guns.

Daily Record columnist, Chris Sutton, has today made the case for Neil Lennon to leave Celtic and move to England.  Nice one, Chris.  If you hand around long enough to get to see it all.

    For sure something is happening, and I doubt very much that WC would be hinting unless he was sure something is going down, insider knowledge, they give you time for that don’t they >}

    Maybe they know that the hun are going bust again, and they can’t wait for them to do another sevco, who the feck knows.

    I hope it is sooner, it could happen within 2 seasons if they wanted, but I do know the crowds are dwindling at an alarming rate in england, the top teams are stable, but the rest are really starting to struggle.

    The epl and it’s subs have done well for the past 20 years or so, and everything has a shelf life, maybe they realise that a change is for the better.

    Good crieff!!!

    As long as I have a hole in my arse – I will never attend a “traditional” Burns night

    Full o’ DoB’s

  5. This nonsense getting booked for goal celebrations is definitely one Celtic should be a lot more vocal in questioning officials.

    The club should be publicly challenging this blatant bias towards us and highlight the inconsistent application of this idiotic rule. We would have lots of evidence!!

  6. Gordon64. If I have that rarity that is a night out, I’ll let you know so that I can get them a wee pint!

    Probably cos it’s been done to death and nothing has come of it.

    But as I said, I doubt that WC would be telling us about Paul dropping hints unless they know something.

    I pray I live to see it, I never thought I would see them die, but I did >}

    This would be the icing on the cake.

    On The Alan Lomax archive via You Tube. It is a fantastic archive of all the music that Alan Lomax recorded on his field trips across the USA.

    that vid of Lubo’s party is one i simply adore!

    It is my Fav ever game at Ipox (ones which I attended anyway) just pipping the Centenary season 2-1 victory courtesy of the maestro and Walker’s chest.

    To be in there with the league already sewn up and then to murder them thanks to Lubo? All topped off by Henrik’s 50th goal???

    That was Heaven! I loved it, loved it i tells ya!

    Thanks for posting that.

    I was there, in the Boavista end, in line with 6 yard box, you could not stop me blowing my pea whistle, although they tried to stop me. On the way out the Boavista Fans wished me well in the final, many shaking my hand. They tried to get my Hoops off me…I just smiled and said in my best Portuguese, no chance.

    Although it was a Boavista end ticket, I got it from the Brother of the late Paul McConville, Mark I will forever be in your debt as it was the best ever night I have enjoyed in my life following Celtic, bar none.

    Keep the Faith!
