Point of order, seven players have not left Rangers

555

Point of order. Steven Davis has not decided to leave Rangers. Kyle Lafferty did not leave Rangers. Jamie Ness, Steven Whittaker, Steven Naismith, Shauny Aluko and Rhys McCabe did not leave Rangers in some insurrection of Stevens-and-friends-with-odd-names.

All have chosen to remain employees of Rangers Football Club PLC and (reportedly) objected to transfer to Sevco 5088. Loyal to the end, heroes to the jersey, despite how this is being reported elsewhere. The administrators currently managing Rangers Football Club PLC may soon issue all of the above with redundancy notices, but until then, the players will sit tight.

Sevco don’t need these guys anyway, they’ve 19 targets, several of whom have been busy at the Euros, ready to sign-on.

And how could I forget about Gattuso? We’re in trouble when that lot arrive, guys!

    They should have listened to Jimmy Durante instead of Ian Durrantie- ‘Be nice to people on the way up because you meet them on the way down’.

  11. To all the ex-football club fans so heinously offended by Alex Thomson’s faux-pas regarding the statue of Mr Greig:

    Check out the photo of ex-football club fans, yes, your colleagues, maybe even you yourself, showing their respects to the statue of Francesc Macia in Barcelona.

    I guess that when it comes to showing disrespect to a statue, you do have a certain expertise.

    The Bomber’s attempt at showing contrition only demonstrates that they just don’t get it.

    +++++++++++

    ……But he insisted: “Since no one from the Rangers regime has had the balls to do so, as a former Hamilton and Dundee player I want to apologise on behalf of my club to the whole of Scottish football.”

    ++++++++++++

    Sorry Bomber, but it is not your service to Hamilton or Dundee which was shameful & demanded an apology.

    It was your part in that cesspit of shame in Govan which warrants the most abject of apologies.

    Strange that you should bring completely blameless clubs into it.

    Keep it simple,…I AM ASHAMED OF THE PART I PLAYED IN RANGERS.

    That would be a start.

    I’ve read them and they are as plausible as anything else we’ve heard.

    Cowdenbeath Rangers could be the one.

    The problem they have now is getting rid of Green and getting back the assets.

    It is a bit rich that he calls the players walking away as opportunists when he’s there for a fast buck

    Former Rangers manager Walter Smith is set to receive an honorary degree.

    He will be given a Doctor of the University by Glasgow Caledonian (GCU) in recognition of his achievements in Scottish football.

    As manager of Rangers, Mr Smith picked up 21 major honours during two spells at the club, including ten Scottish titles. He has also managed the Scottish national side.

    Professor Pamela Gillies, GCU principal and vice-chancellor, said: “We are delighted to welcome these creative and civic-minded citizens into our distinguished family of honorary graduates.

    “They each have a remarkable record of achievement in business and public life, and each individual honoured is an inspiration to our university community of staff, students, graduates and alumni.”

  18. Does anyone know whether the ban on signing new players applies to SEVCO5088 or did it only apply to RFC(IA)?

    John Brown’s name was mud with the huns a couple of weeks ago as he apparently asked for £500 to speak at an RFF do. Now he has millions!

    Speaking of the New Saviour…

  22. Thanks to all for kind words.

    Now…..has Greeny thrown in the towel & vamoosed back to The Dales yet? Lovely countryside. I’m sure he must be pinin’ for the old home comforts, the roaring fire,a pint of Tetley’s,sittin’ wi’ ‘is mates, regalin’ them wi’ tales of his attempts to tame the orc in the badlands of far-flung Govan; how he only managed to escape by throwin’ their slaverin’ divil dug,Moisty, off the squinty bridge as he scarpered to Central Station thowing gold coins as he went to further foil their pursuit, intent as they were to turn him into a succulent dish, fit for a Sir Minty.

    Will we ever see his like again? Surely. There is a lineage of chancers, from Minty Moonbeams through Craigy-Boy via The Multicoloured Knights, down past Trucker Bill and on with Stripper Green as he passes the baton to the next mighty saviour,Bomber Brown and The Over-The-Hill Gang.

    This saga is worthy of a Tolkien,a George R. Martin.

    Meanwhile, the internet bampots will have to carve the tale on digital silicon for a future scribe to coherently present after the final tolling of the bell.

  25. Is that serious about Watty gettin’ a degree? I’d’ve thought he had all the degrees a hun could ever want from his lodge.

    Will the mirth never cease?

    :-)

  26. Will Wattie have to go back and redo the Doctorate when the titles and trophies (21) are stripped. Wouldn’t that be hilarious. So Walter what did you get your honorary degree for. Em well yes it was for the 10 titles that I won and eh 5 Scottish Cups and 6 league cups but if you want to get back to me in a couple of months those stats just might have changed due to some cheating that has been going on. I wouldnt’d have thought it would affect my impending knighthood in the new years honours list tho.
