Point of order, seven players have not left Rangers

555

Point of order. Steven Davis has not decided to leave Rangers. Kyle Lafferty did not leave Rangers. Jamie Ness, Steven Whittaker, Steven Naismith, Shauny Aluko and Rhys McCabe did not leave Rangers in some insurrection of Stevens-and-friends-with-odd-names.

All have chosen to remain employees of Rangers Football Club PLC and (reportedly) objected to transfer to Sevco 5088. Loyal to the end, heroes to the jersey, despite how this is being reported elsewhere. The administrators currently managing Rangers Football Club PLC may soon issue all of the above with redundancy notices, but until then, the players will sit tight.

Sevco don’t need these guys anyway, they’ve 19 targets, several of whom have been busy at the Euros, ready to sign-on.

And how could I forget about Gattuso? We’re in trouble when that lot arrive, guys!

  1. Think Mr Green is blustering again as he does not know his TUPE. This taken from TUPE leaflet.

Can an employee refuse to transfer?

Sometimes employees facing a transfer will, for whatever reason, not wish to

transfer. They have a right to object to being transferred, but this brings their

employment to an end without a dismissal. In effect, the employee leaves

employment without any remedies for the ending of the employment contract.

He or she cannot claim unfair dismissal, for example, or damages for notice.

This may seem a little harsh, but it can be a useful ‘exit route’ for employees

quickly to extricate themselves from a business, as they are released from any

obligations they would otherwise have to give notice.

Outgoing employer must also advise staff of transfer details 14 days before transfer (30 July). No court would see 24 hours as a reasonable period to make such a decision. Mind you not sure what court he is going to as this is a employment matter and would it not need to be decided at a tribrunal

On the subject of sleepless nights,I’ve had many of them myself in the past-insomnia is a bugger, and not only to spell! One of the biggest problems I found with it,as I believe you are having now,is the amount of time you have to think.

This sounds ok on the surface, but it soon leads to over-analysing things, and to dwelling too long on usually more negative aspects of,well, everything.

Wish you well with the fight against emphysema it’s a tough one.

My father smoked for over fifty years then was diagnosed with emphysema and died a couple of years later. In his case he did not give up the fags despite the dire warnings and if you do this your lung capacity is destroyed at an exponential rate not a linear one.

My mother also has emphysema, partly as she smoked when she was younger but mainly through passive smoking in later life. She has inhalers and manages fine. Depending on your lung capacity (in the case of my father it was 20% on diagnosis) and with careful management you can live long and prosper!

  17. Seems very Funny now, An article from last month. Pity the agents do not want their players to STAY with rangers

ADMINISTRATION, transfer embargos and no European football.

But Rangers icon and chief scout John Brown is adamant Ibrox remains a major attraction for players around the world.

Despite all the problems which have engulfed the club during the worst year in its history Brown says they still have global appeal.

And that’s why he’s revealed the Murray Park scouting network will carry on as normal this summer.

Rangers may have lost their appeal against the SFA’s 12-month player registration ban but the club are considering taking their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

As Record Sport revealed yesterday, Ibrox boss Ally McCoist has already identified out-of-contract Hearts ace Ian Black as a potential signing – if the embargo is lifted.

Brown, who confirmed Black is on the club’s radar, says it would be unprofessional for them not to cover all bases ahead of next season.

He said: “We have been through a lot recently but it’s still a huge club. And I know for a fact players are still interested in coming here.

“When I’ve spoken to agents in the last few months about the availability of their players they know the size of Rangers.

“It’s a massive, worldwide club and to get the chance to play for us – whether it’s under the present circumstances or not – is still appealing to players.

“The fan base is the key thing. If you look at the recent Legends game against AC Milan at Ibrox there were 47,000 people. No player can say they wouldn’t want to play for a support like that.

“They know at Rangers they’ll have capacity crowds every week and the chance to play in a fantastic atmosphere.

“Obviously, the current squad took pay cuts this season but that was done to help save jobs in other areas of the club. But players out there are looking at Rangers coming out of administration and getting their house in order.

“There is no fear from them about joining us. I know from speaking to agents they wouldn’t hesitate to put their players into Ibrox.”

  18. For anyone in any doubt about why Celtic FC should stay silent on matters that are looking after themselves here is a small sample of feeling toward us without the club getting involved from FF

Rangers fans are hoping to organise a protest in response to the Charles Green consortium’s takeover of the club.

The Union Bears fans group are calling for supporters to turn out at Ibrox stadium on Wednesday night over the situation at Rangers.

Earlier this month the Sevco consortium claimed it completed the transfer of all assets from Rangers FC plc to a new company, before the one incorporated in 1899 is liquidated at a later date.

Despite claiming to have transferred all players to Sevco 5088 Ltd, eight first-team members have indicated that they are refusing the move, including captain Steven David and goalkeeper Allan McGregor.

Mr Green has indicated that he wants to challenge the refusal to move under TUPE legislation, claiming he will pursue the players for breach of contract.

The fans group stated on its Facebook page that it wanted to organise the 7pm protest in response to the “rapid deterioration of the situation our club finds itself in”.

The Union Bears statement added: “We demand answers from Mr Green immediately. The situation is critical and we as fans must act now.”

In April, around 7000 Rangers fans marched to Hampden, led by former player Sandy Jardine, in response to the £160,000 fine and 12-month player signing ban imposed on them by the Scottish FA for the financial mismanagement at the club in the nine months following Craig Whyte’s takeover.
