It is one thing for football fans and administrators to be embroiled in the politics of the game but it’s no wonder that Neil Lennon tires of such subjects. His team are top of the SPL and in the knockout stages of the Champions League but he is being distracted by references to his club emanating from the lower leagues. Maybe he should limit his comments on this subject to those of Walter Smith, “We wish the new Rangers Football Club every good fortune.” Every “new” club deserves the same courtesy.
Can you imagine the reaction if Neil said the same!
Speaking of which, I see the man who has avoided trying to win friends among other clubs since his arrival in the game last year is now trying to influence people on league reconstruction. Good luck with that.
We spoke over the weekend about well-run clubs in the SPL (Inverness, St Johnstone, Ross County, Motherwell), where managers come and go but results tend to remain buoyant. Notably absent from this list was Dundee United, who have underachieved for years, but whose manager, Peter Houston, was today given permission to speak to English Championship side, Blackpool. Houston has been unable to sprinkle magic dust over Tannadice so, if offered the Blackpool job, I expect him to accept.
United need to ask some fundamental questions should they be forced to replace their manager, like why they have vastly more resources than Motherwell, and appear to be able to produce prodigious young talent, but consistently fail to match the Lanarkshire side the in the league table. They are a club in need of vision.

…….sorry ghuys……don’t miss any of the record shops mentioned on here tonight…..I was laughed out of every one of them back in the day cos I asked for The Carpenters greatest hits and Shaddupa ya face by the talented Joe Dolce
“Oh yes wait a minute mr postman….”
I never found out why thommo was asked to leave – anybody know why ? I wouldn’t be surprised if Lennie has a clinical streak in him. Results since he left suggest it was a good move , though I presumed he was good when he was there. Who’s the old bloke they got in for him ? What would he know?
Paisley Road West in Cardonald had a fantastic record shop called Volume where I remember buying various records in coloured vinyl-now a deli -also had a great wee boozers called Howdens tiny pub but had two bars in it -great days
I vaguely remember queueing outside Rugby park(?) one day, many many years ago, for a late kick off (but a weekend, I think) when a rumour buzzed round that Thatcher had died.

The sister who lives next to the church tells me
the cops have placed a cordon of jeeps in front of the church and some of the homes
i’m at the other end of the district right next to the “peace” wall but things are quiet here ..so far
Don’t talk tae me aboot Volume……never heard of Aggadoo?……..my ass
Then again maybe it wasn’t a late kick off. Maybe we just arrived early.
Invercelt – “It’s disturbing to see so much hatred poured out on the blog of a supposedly inclusive organisation.”
Care to expand on that? This is Paul67’s blog, are you inferring otherwise?

It may only be a friendly but thank fuck football is back on the agenda tomorrow night.
Yellow card gratefully accepted.
Dont post very often but felt I had to after reading some of the comments on here tonight about some peoples fascist heroes. I have no problem with people having a discussion about main stream politics as long as it is kept to a sensible level, however I find it abhorrent to read that some one is trying to glorify the deeds of a murdering dictator such as Pinochet.
Another poster earlier mentioned that this site is read by many people from different parts of the world and that this site represents a large section of the Celtic Support.I for one would like to distance myself from the comments of the Singing Detective and would assure any guests on this site that his views are his own and not that of the vast majority who use this site. The irony is that free speech is the mainstay of democracy.
It saddens me to see God Bless General Pinochet CSC written on a site such as this, I could say that it was written tongue in cheek and as such would be at best in bad taste but sadly I dont think that this is the case.
I would ask anyone posting on this site to remember why it is here and remember the great work that is carried out by so many on this site for the Celtic family.

I liked missing records in Howard st :)))
Felt it only right to mention that I cannot agree with anybody wishing harm on another person,I have as much reason as any to dislike Thatcher, her cronies and her destructive policies.I still cannot find it within myself to wish harm on her she will be judged when the time comes by a greater being.
Exiled,
The games on ESPN UK allegedly.

Have to say as much as I despised Maggie Thatchers politics and considering how much my old man (god bless his soul) hated her and how much I respected him. Nobody should be calling for her death, or saying how they will celebrate her death.
Unchristian, unacceptable, and not fitting for this blog.

There’s lots of things on tinternet i’d rather not be tempted to look at – Catholic guilt and all that -if that’s a closed mind then i’ll live with it.

TTTT,
If I’m wrong, I stand corrrected, but I was under the impression that Paul had opened this blog to Celtic supporters in general. He’s certainly not pouring out the hatred in person.

Sorry, mate, but Willie Collum is the moderator tonight. Red card, twice as he said you also swore at him when you were leaving. And a penalty kick.
No time for Thatcher, but sad to see people glorying in her (imminent?) death.
Very un-Celtic behaviour.
HighlandBhoy
I don’t believe in a higher being , so I will judge her now, Do you think that she lost a nights sleep over the sinking of the Belgrano , don’t think so, my sympathy is with all those boys that died needlessly
Jackie mac, I’ve read a couple.
Missing Records? Howard St?……pah…canny call it a record shop if they never heard of Whistling Jack Smith….

Strange thing religion.
A good mate in Dublin, a gambler, a drinker, cursed to beat the band, some of his jokes were close to the bone so to speak, even for me…yet he never watched an episode of Father Ted cos he thot it was blasphemous.

I’m a sinner and I’ll celebrate when she goes, and gloat at her downfall
