Playing not bad in spurts but that defence needs coached big time. We leak like a sieve even when the opposition don’t have the clearest of chances

  2. Second half has been brutal so far ….but you know what it will stand them all in good stead..lets hope we can gather ourselves for 20 minutes like we did in the first.

  3. Cracked crest tomorrow as crisis deepens. Gerard says treble is on . . . Lenny has lost the dressing room . . . Edouard demands a transfer . . . Ajer demands a transfer . . . Southampton offers Forster to Rangers . . . Barca says Messi plus 30 million for Morelos . . .

    You read it here first.

  4. Adidas scrambling through the contract small print as exec who came up with “not for 2nd best” strapline gets his jotters . . .

  5. Ron67 – but he’s wanted by everyone in Serie A and Brendan is waving wads of millions at his agent :)

Can’t say I’ve ever thought he looked anything more than average at CH. Slow and one-sided.

    Only my opinion.

Huge difference between us and their B team without the ball. When they defend, they have 3 and sometimes 4 players lined up close to their back 4, leaving hardly any space. When they get the ball, they all immediately advance at pace towards the halfway line, forcing all our players back. Defensive discipline which we lack. This is basically shooting practice for them

  7. 4 nil..oh dear…we had a great chance a moment before..not sharp at all in front of goal..we could do with one of those traditional pre season run outs against low level opposition me thinks

  8. We still don’t know how to defend as a team or even as a defensive unit. Been an issue for a few years

Interesting how the flair players in really good teams can defend personally and tactically

Taylor and Frimpong picking up everyone

Oh there’s another goal from ball watching and marking space. No attempt to close anyone. Jeezo

Going forward we look as sharp as last season so that’s a positive

  9. what’s happened to our high press and tempo game , is it too warm for is as it has been non existent.

did anyone, any celtic fan, any celtic member of staff expect anything else ?

what single thing have we gained from this match ?

what single thing have we learned here that we didnt know before ?

  11. INIQUITOUSIV – great observation. We get told repeatedly that because we are rarely troubled in SPFL we lack “practice” in having to defend with discipline.

PSG stroll through their domestic fixtures and many of their CL games yet they are drilled to defend as a cohesive unit.

Training ground obviously not just used to admire their frontline’s talents.

  12. Defence is a shambles as I type this 4/0 ,Ajer again caught out, really terrible defender as is Taylor Nitcham is ok but he is to slow,as for the goalkeeping position that is least of our problems

  13. It’s heartbreaking that we are not able to compete anywhere near this level.

We never will whilst we are so disadvantaged by TV revenues and the lack of Trillions from Arab owners .

You could say that about the French mini tour, hopefully we made some money from it (doubt it) but I can’t see what benefits we got.

Defensively, this is a complete and utter shambles. Look at our positioning for that last attack. We have no shape. We look like primary school kids following the ball.

`We never will whilst we are so disadvantaged by TV revenues and the lack of Trillions from Arab owners .`

That, strangely, makes it more bearable for me in that the `blame` for being outclassed does not come down to lack of effort on the part of our team nor, indeed, of our Club.

I am never quite sure why obviously committed supporters want to be so critical (not you ,TT) of our team when we are being outplayed by one of the best teams in the world. Is it simply cathartic? ( Is that were Third Lanark used to play? ).

  17. Yes it can be a bit embarrasing…but I expected nothing else..the teams fitness and levels will have improved no end……results in pre-season are meaningless..actually beyond meaningless….We should cut them some slack
