    Spot on

3 players playing poorly is fatal in a close game.

Why can’t players take a decent corner or free kick?

    It’s just practice FFS

Eddie might not be a very poor player but right now (and for quite some time) he is playing like a very poor player . Apart from the big chance which he turned into a defensive clearance , he missed at least one other great opportunity where he got past one defender and ran right into the only other defender between him and the goal . It has gone on too long to be simply a dip in form , but lets hope Crystal Palace/Bordeaux/Everton don’t know that .

  3. 14 year ago after a 0-3 gubbin, or so I was led tae believe, over there I was truly gutted and vowed not to go online.

However, sitting in work bored I thought I would give it a go tae see how scheitd we had actually been, it was then I came across a “new” site which boasted “not lazy journalism” as a result I logged on and found out about the 9 yellows and that the score did not truly reflect the game itself, after that I was hooked.

Today’s, comments, hunterlopers notwithstanding, have indicated this to be the last hurrah of a dying empire, one that only lasted a season I hasten to add.

Reading on CQN the terrific “A Bhoy Called Joe” had me reflecting tae a time, not unlike where we are now, a Big Mhan taking over not just the team but the club and changing the culture that had us in the doldrums.

On the Friday after Big Billy’s bumper final we beat the huns 2-1 in a Glasgow Cup game, oh how we celebrated.

Earlier that day Jock announced the Combined Reserve League side would be disbanded and a raft of youngsters were released as the best progression was through one-to-one coaching and this was impossible with 50 staff on the books.

Take note those that are advocating signing a raft of new players.

Also, the huns were down to 9 men shortly after the interval, no subs back then, with goalie martin playing as a striker and big provan donning the yellow jersey, no tangerine either, after he had broken a finger saving a shot from the Bear.

Despite the setbacks and the return of the Drum thug big dandy they took the lead when wee henderson galloped up the left wing and rifled a shot home

Fortunately big provan let a ten thirty shot slip through his fingers and 4 minutes later Stevie put us ahead being first tae a big Tam rebound aff the post.

Although it was not the slaughter we had anticipated at half time a win was a win against them and they had been few and far between for the past 8 years.

All summer we celebrated and although we had a poor start to the season we had found our form and were scoring for fun as we headed tae the bigot dome, we took 8 off the previously unbeaten Raith who were captained by former Celtic great Bobby Evans at Starks Park 3 days prior.

We were shocked when the teams were announced, no Joe McGoals who had scored a hat trick in Kirkcaldy, history tell us he was injured but I recall the Big Mhan saying after the game he had made a mistake leaving him out.

Mibbees just mibbees he had a knock and Jock was saving him, with the Bear also scoring 3 that night he might have assumed his replacing Joe in the number 9 shorts and wee ten thirty back on the left wing as they had lined up on the GC and SC games a few months before might have sufficed.

As it was an early injury tae big Billy, which saw him go off for treatment, with Chopper taking over the pivot role and Billy on return playing at centre, Joe’s position, hampered our chances and we fell tae a 1-2 loss.

We would not lose another game for 4 months after that and started scoring for fun again in the League, League Cup and also the Lavvy Cup, and 5 weeks after losing at hades we exacted revenge by reversing the scoreline in the LC Final.

I have faith in Ange and foresee a similar occurrence this season, if not the scores but the return to form, IMHO today was indeed a blip.

  4. GM @ 9.24

DT — slightly conflicted regarding his ability.

I think he is a young player with a huge talent trying to make up for lost time.

However he is appearing more and more to be one paced bordering on slow.

His set piece delivery today was shocking — the best that could be said about it was that he was having a regular series of brain farts / totally lacking in energy.

At worst it could be said that he is currently learning to play against good teams and the TFPD2.1.

Totally lacking in pace and energy — today was one of far too many.

However on his game he is — potentially — the most talented MF we have.

Just a case he cannot be relied upon to take a free kick or a corner against anybody especially the TFOD2.1.

I think he should play deeper.

  5. TIMMY 7

I know we don’t see ‘eye to eye’, so sorry to hear your sad news – God bless you and all your family RIP

  6. Talk of two coming in (one being a loan) is promising but more is needed. If we sell Eddie and come through this window in the black in terms of our transfer dealings then questions need to be asked. Have we really backed the manager if we trouser millions in this transfer window ?

We need a much stronger squad.

Our lack of depth has cost us against the Danes and the huns with a manager seemingly very reluctant to avail of his bench.

Do not sell the fans short, Celtic. It’s there for us, back Ange and get the players in.

A CB and a strong central midfielder in addition to Jota and the Greek striker should be a minimum in the next two days.

P.S I’m holding off buying a LB because I want to see more of Montgomery. He’s yet to let us down.

  7. Go tell the Spartim on

It must be that time when Neganons fanbhoys come on.

How far away from a squad he’d be happy with is Ange? A million miles would be his answer.

The players are responsible for the passing about at the back, it’s a mindset he’s trying to change, going by some on here he’s not gonna win you over as are some of the players.

We’re not a big club with world class players, we are where we are thru what exactly, neglect and mismanaged, for some, the environment we play in for others.

We’ve lost two games in the league, Hearts and tfod, they’ve had two games, one Ross county and the other to Dundee hibs which they lost.

Goals conceded in those games, set plays. Do we have the personnel to cope with set plays, no, yet the diff btw hearts and today is bigger, we are a work in progress not the finished article perhaps viewing it from that perspective might help the hard of thinking.

Is this GT liking a tweet is that why he’s persona non grata ?

Juranovic is a right back playing left back so cut him so slack

  8. Bottom line – we got beat for the 5th time in 6 games by a team playing their third string keeper and third choice right back. And once again, it’s a header from a corner. Whether it’s Goldson, Katic or Helander, we never learn. While our production from corners is risible.

Who is going to fill in if Welsh or Starfelt is injured in the next month? Julien? – won’t be ready. Bitton? – Accident waiting to happen. Scales? – Unknown quantity. Who is going to add some steel to our soft as mince midfield against Betis and Leverkusen? McCarthy won’t cut it. Simply not fast or athletic enough. The next 2 days had better be productive, as these issues won’t rectify themselves.

  9. Bit of a rant coming, please excuse

Jh, is he any better than the 3 gers Keepers? Ior the St Johnstone 1. Or dundee utd?

He’s not better than either of those or Craig gordon, or even David Marshall. Has he really improved the shots- goals ratio?

He was only meh today and failed to organise for the goal.

Defence was OK but gave away 7/8 stupid dangerous fouls. They only gave away 2, and some lone let the dreadful (today) turnbull hit it.

Balagoun was their best defender, which makes a total mockery of APs tactics. Absolutely criminal, game losing decision by the boss. However, Christie was easily their second best defender. Harsh? How many attacks did Balagoun stop? Christie was not too far behind. He was appalling.

OÉ is a pathetic figure. Really pathetic. He’s so lazy and uninterested, how on earth does he still wear the hoops?

Also, I wonder if anyone else questioned APs use of Kyogo and Abada. He stuck them both as close to the baying mob as he could. That was totally insane. That mob were baying fir blood, and Abada is 18. We all know what happened to Kyogo.

AP practically fed them to the lions, in a totally crazy stupid tactical decision. Last year we were unbeaten in the league for 8 games. We have lost 2 from 4, and have lost 4 away games. Tbh, there has been dramatic improvement, but today was a dreadful team performance on many levels, and the boss sold out horribly, especially with Kyogo wide, OÉ on, and failing to change the team. Christie, Edouard, turnbull, were truly atrocious, Abada was completely invisible, perhaps cos his boss sent him to the baying mobs, and Kyogo s marker was mom, so AP destroyed the celtic attack.

  10. lets all do the huddle on

folk saying that our midfield was too lightweight today

well, that’s never been mentioned in the last few years

    oh, hang on…

but at least our new captain and main central midfielder is a towering giant who can bring some physicality into that part of the team

    oh, yet again hang on…

and Ange saying he had to play Eddy cos Forrest was injured

forrest – another big time midfielder enforcer

oh, hang on one more time…

if we dont get away from this obsession with lightweights in the team then we are going nowhere

Bit of a rant coming, please excuse

nope, your right, a lot of nonsense rant, no excuse.

i dont know how wide players play wide without being close to their supporters.

  12. I think Barca have massively improved having moved on their midget midfield fitballers and that rubbish 10 guy. tiny toes.

  13. thats a poor readback, and the usual suspects are away to bed after a long march.

    leave taylor alone.

  14. SAINTSTIVS

C’mon Saint, nobody could get the ball off Xavi, Iniesta and Messi. My brother’s granddaughters could dispossess our midfield just by waiting for them to pass it directly to them.

  15. St stivs

Please feel free to point out my erroneous conclusions.

    Eg What about Hart?

Was kyogos marker mom or not? So who won that personal battle?

Do you think Kyogo was in the right position tactically?

Do you think Abada at only 19 could have been better away from the mob.?

    Hiw bad was Christie?

Did he not destroy numerous attacks?

Did the boss give them a giant tactical advantage by replacing Ie with Kyogo?

THey must have been ecstatic with the dreadful blunders by APE

I’m more Instamatic than Instagram. But the fact is since Snake Plissken @ 7.59pm to Saint Stivs @ 10.52 there have been 25 posts on here which, directly or indirectly, have referred to something Greg Taylor may or may not have referred to, liked, responded to on the latter. Not one has included proof positive of said response, and as of now I am as Eric Morecambe used to say of his partner Ernie, none the wiser. That normally might trouble me, but you can be sure as hell it wont trouble les autres.

    instantgratificationcsc

  18. In my opinion Greg Taylor has put in more of a shift than anyone this last couple of Months and although his final ball was not so good this past couple Of games he has provided so many decoy runs creating space in a way our new player didn’t today.

I get that many on here don’t attend the games but watching him at the stadium it’s much easier to appreciate the worl he puts in and how fit he is.

If Taylor had played today then Kyogo would have got more space and no way Balogen gets mom.

  19. Wishaw Tim 😂 from earlier , it was my good self who was annoyed by a good celt on here being abused by a Hun, if calling someone out using nasty names makes me a snowflake so be it. if that was said to JHB that was outrageous also. HH

  20. Read back sees the usual mix of post-defeat pain, trolling, promising signs and lash-outs.

Ange was my early pick to replace Lenny – but he didn’t get his team right nor right up for the challenge. Dropping a brand new RB in at LB, persisting with offdays Turnbull and Christie, letting them play slow and crab-like…

Why not play a proper lefty – Boli at LB – or give Scales a run in his natural LB role?

Has the psych Neil brought in left the building yet?

We looked like a team who felt THEY still had a hex over us.

Believe in Angeball, not yesterday’s crab-ball.

PS: Cant believe GT would do anything less than professional. HH

  21. CARDBOARDCSC-it was definitely said alright.

I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but he is not a good yin

  22. waiting for MacKay to say, ” We hope to come out of every transfer window stronger than we went in.”

Then we’ll know for sure we’ve been had.

  23. Looking back I think Liam Shaw might have done a job in midfield for us today. Pacy and a big dude to boot, not literally
