If Starfelt and Welsh continue to play as they did today, Julienn wont get back in the team. Ralston continues to impress and juranovic looks good. Hoping Scales can make it, but Montgomery looks a real prospect too. A 23 yr old McCarthy is exactly what we need, but dont know how good he is now. Turnbull needs some conditioning work, was done by half time, Christie can go. What can you say about eddie? Truly hopeless. Please go. We dont need much to get back on top, an aggressive, gifted midfielder and another attacking option.
————————————————————————————————–
Says nearly all I want to say from what I saw today. Just to add let’s not write mc carthy off just yet but also find another big athletic midfielder to add to the squad that way we can let Ryan Christie leave and push Calmac further up the park. It looks to me like Turnbull and Rogic are incapable of 90 mins so use one to start the game and one to finnish it. What if big Jullien breaks down when he comes back wee really need another big 6ft 6in centre half hard as nails type.As far as Eddie is concerned he and his agent should be TOLD they have two days to find him a new club or he will be given the treatment his friend Ollie got. To get money for him would be nice but to get him to f*** would be even better.
I really believe Ange was told to play Eddie today and that due to him starting young Abada had no one to play off.
I also meant to say hello again and thank you for a great afternoon to all the bhoys I met at the hoot yesterday. You know who you are. THE LURKIN TIM I hope your nettle stings have calmed down. Fattys too important to how they play for them to sell now. They are stuck in the catch 22 where they need to sell players to keep solvent but can’t do it without having a serious impact on their on-field chances. Winning the first league is the easy part.

I read a book review about this event a couple of weekends ago and now I cant find it. I wanted to buy the book.
Fascinating though.
An epic ride in the shadow of Julián Berrendero, who spent 18 months in a Franco concentration camp, then put two fingers up to the dictator by winning the race
Our midfield was too lightweight going to Ibrox, soon as I saw the team thought that was our weak point, was kinda hoping McCarthy could help us out there, and probably we should have played Soro instead of RC, ah well, hopefully Ange learns from this one for the next one, no worries, its only August.
‘GG on
I’m trying to be positive and ignoring the personal invective that has crept into the afternoon posts.
I thought we mostly dominated the first half, despite a lot of very slack passing in midfield.
How did Eddie contrive to miss what has to be deemed an absolute sitter?
We should have been ahead at the break despite a performance which didn’t match our prior games against admittedly inferior opposition.
Our much maligned defence was on top but the front units did not match their authority.
Juranovic looked comfortable, Ralston is performing more like David Hay with each passing game, Welsh is going to be a pillar in the very near future while Starfelt looks like he is gaining confidence and composure. Hart seems to be able to inspire his defenders, though I am a wee bit concerned that he doesn’t put himself about at set pieces.
We have 10 days to reflect, recoup and recharge for a busy period of games through to Christmas.
I’m sure Ange will use it to bed in Juranovic effectively, get McCarthy fully fit, work to fit Scales into the picture and instill some confidence in Abada.
Who will be entering and leaving the revolving door? I hope we get a proven goalscorer to replace Eddie, a box to box midfielder to replace Christie and a central defender to add to what we have.
The outlook is bright. The future is green and white.

Whilst we all want to see players coming in, we’ve got to get Bolongoli, Barkas and Griffiths out the door. There’s no need to replace these guys as they don’t feature, contribute nothing and will not be missed.
Christie and Edouard need to be replaced.
Get rid of these 5, replace the latter 2 plus a left back and I’d consider that an exceptional window. There’s more to do but Rome wasn’t built in a day.

2nd try 😡
My own opinion on Celtic as we currently find ourselves
Firstly today’s game
What a brilliant debut by Juranovic, hope he can keep that level of performance up 👏👏👏
Back 5 and McGregor all competed well today
Pity the rest of midfield and forwards didn’t
Abada absolutely anonymous
Kyogo, how often did he have the ball away when playing wide left ? As often as Christie & Turnbull.
Odsonne played as already gone.
Looked much much better when Kyogo went through the middle
Although his decision making needs questioned on 2 of his 3 chances
And a reality check
Tactics today, can someone explain the huge difference from today over past 18 months ? Backward passes and across the back line
We have now lost our 4 key games away from home – so what is changing here ??
Sorry, still nowhere near good enough for My Celtic
Hey but we scored 6 against St Mirren and Dundee
For me one decent result against 1 decent team – home win against AZ (in AZ 2nd game of season)
Still much to be done Celtic
NorrieM on
PS – still a lot to be done this transfer window
Odsonne and Ryan to go
Can we move
Griffiths, Ajeti (even though he looked more interested recently), BolingolI & Barkas or Bain
Looks like Giakoumakis is arriving along with Jota
Could Lovric join them and a big powerful Centre Half or left back ???

The difference was that for the first half and last ten minutes we didn’t play like that. We were poor after half time fir half an hour when it looked like the old Celtic but before and after that we moved the ball forward quickly.

Early doors Morelos was presented with a good chance created from the left but while he was “marked” by Juranovic. Had time but poor effort on goal.
Still in the first half Aribo loses Juranovic, via some interpassing around the left back area.
First half still Juranovic loses Roofe at or near the half way line… this leads to Kent hitting his right hand post…
Later in the first half Juranovic gives ball away with a forward pass, to Turnbull I think, leading to a counter attack. Similar plays in the second half.
That’s just from watching the highlights. Now if that is him playing well, not looking forward to seeing him off his game. Will cut him some slack, he is a right back, and it showed, but on this performance, better than Greg Taylor at left back he aint. And he does not add much physically either, not compared to Ralston. Maybe Greg’s critics are seeing an improvement which was not on show today.
