    We did better today than I expected, but as per last season, if the opposition can deliver a corner to the back post, they are virtually guaranteed a free header.

     

    Jullien may be back in October, but as we saw last year it will take him 7/8 games to get fit, and if we could get a centre back with physical presence it will make a big difference, even if it is a veteran that only plays 12/15 games between now and end January.

     

    It would also be good to see McCarthy fit and sitting in front of the defence which will allow Calmac to move forward as imho both Rogic and Christie are too inconsistent.

    If Starfelt and Welsh continue to play as they did today, Julienn wont get back in the team. Ralston continues to impress and juranovic looks good. Hoping Scales can make it, but Montgomery looks a real prospect too. A 23 yr old McCarthy is exactly what we need, but dont know how good he is now. Turnbull needs some conditioning work, was done by half time, Christie can go. What can you say about eddie? Truly hopeless. Please go. We dont need much to get back on top, an aggressive, gifted midfielder and another attacking option.

    Back from the local shop while out getting supplies I just encountered 4 of the bad guys all dressed in black.

     

     

    Fake tans and 5 star tats, early 20s i would say, thier chat was of still buzzing and back to their best, delusional.

     

    Wee insignia badges, nothing says dignified rememberance as much as a poppy and a paraptropper with a gun.

     

     

    They bought wee cans of the daft mixer drinks, two each. and made their way to the really expensive houses here.

     

     

    they were about as intimidating as Cosplay Ewoks on a day out. maybe they aint Onionist, or maybe it is just imitation to flattery, or maybe in the drama section for them

     

     

    Given I had my JJ man t-shirt on, i was awaiting them saying something, but hey ho, nothing doing, wouldnt be a fair fight anyways, I am a real 55 having survived my heart attacks and illnesses, and there were only 4 of them.

    I didn’t see the game today, so not in a position to comment on individual performances.

     

     

    From what I have read it seems the usual suspects put in their usual performance.

     

     

    We need players who show up and perform consistently in important games, not just against SPFL cannon fodder.

    Just watched about ten minutes of action packed highlights and, trying to be as neutral as I can, what I saw suggested a fairly even game where a draw would have been fair but if either side deserved a 1-0 victory, I would have gone for us.

     

    I don`t blame anyone for their goal. The guy got up well. met the ball solidly and gave the `keeper no chance. Not all goals are down to bad defending.

     

    Early days but I think we will win the title.

    Thought Juranovic played very well at lb.hopefully we’l buy a lb and see him over on the right.he was all right foot but unlike some of his more experienced teammates didnt seem scared to pass the ball forward.

     

    Our passing out from the back game still has a long way to go before im no shittin it every time one of players passes back to big Joe.ffs he had ball at his feet more than Abada.

    Most points that I would make about today have been already made.

     

    Apologies if these are in that category.

     

     

    Our new Right Back looked very , very assured even at left back in a new team… On first viewing I very encouraged.

     

     

    Playing the ball out from the back needs , ball playing defenders , AND midfielders both willing and capable of receiving the ball.

     

     

    Christie and Turnbull first touch was often so poor that they were immediately scampering after the ball and having to tackle Huns,

     

     

    CalMac made gimself available but too often had to cycle the ball back to the defender who had given it to him.

     

     

    Our manager (who worried me by previously ) saying that he doesn’t change his philosophy…. has hopefully learned a lesson today about horses for courses.

     

     

    Our experience gained by watching seasons of Eddie struggle when asked to play through the middle did not seem to be communicated to our manager by our coaching staff . !!!

     

    Ange knows now.

     

     

    Ryan not a team player, and needs recalibrated if he is staying.

     

    The image of Ryan Christie (who ruins so many moves by taking on impossible shots ) throwing a toddler tantrum whilst bitching at Kyogo for not passing the ball to him was despicable….

     

     

    As pointed out by commentators it most likely influenced Kyogo into passing a few minutes later when he perhaps should have shot.

     

     

    It is ironic that Thursday saw Starfeld miss- kick the ball off his heel into his own goal, whilst today saw Eddie miss-kick the ball off his heel wide of the goal.

     

     

    Oh for a do over on both instances.

     

     

    Whilst on the subject of do overs….

     

     

    We hoped that the Hun trip to Armenia would have a draining effect on them. It turned into a training game against a pub team.

     

     

    Perhaps if we had not gifted the goals to AZ on Thursday we may have avoided the frantic physically and mentally draining game that we endured.

     

     

    Todays game and outcome may have been affected more by Thursday nights games than we think.

     

     

    Anyway…. lessons learned.. ( hopefully)

    I think. As I posted at half time I’d seen the story of this game recently!

     

     

    The Huns even playing as poorly as they did and have been this season found a way … This was a quirk they developed last season despite being no world beaters

     

    And nobody really challenging them seriously last year. They will believe their own hype and go on a run or as I suspect limp along with poor displays and helpful officials!

     

     

    We have the chance to catch and overtake them if the board are brave the rest f this window and the next .

     

     

    Normally despondent be after a lose to them but not today I saw progress today it’s just needing time a few players and patience ….. Over to the board .

    it was an excellent corner and header,Starfelt did put in a decent challenge but it was a great set piece. It did feel like it was coming, given the amount of pressure we were under, the amount of free kicks and corners fatty and co were winning and how that is their game plan against us.

     

     

    They were poor from open play, they look a bit like us in BR’S third season, stale and in need of fresh blood

     

     

    We cut them open fairly easily at the end, they won’t worry about it but they should
