Rangers FC Statement
23rd Oct. 2016
RANGERS Football Club is shocked at the disgraceful behaviour of Celtic fans and Players.
Rangers players and staff were subjected by these fans after their players illegal off field activities. Having been orchestrated by Celtic players. The baying mob of Celtic fans openly derided our players abilities and honest efforts of our clubs and its status and reputation. It is in civilised societies best interest at least that the mental well being of our staff is protected and that this is investigated forthwith and an appropriate punishment is promptly issued.
There can be no place for the overly exuberant goal celebrations that we witnessed at the end of the Semi Final and Rangers fully expect the Scottish Professional Football League and Police Scotland to launch an investigation to find out why this was tolerated.
The Club would like to commend Rangers fans for the restraint they showed under severe provocation as Leigh Griffiths was clearly offside.
All Rangers fans and Club 1872 should be reassured we will be making an appeal to the proper authorities for a rematch.
Although the SFA are seen to be the games neutral arbitrators, they do not seem to be able to properly manage an event of this stature we will be seeking a change of venue for the rematch.

The biggest aggregate score margin over a 4 or 5 game season between Celtic and Rangers (old and new) is 7. Both clubs have achieved and suffered this.
The taxi driver I got home and is a mate told me he picked Novo up and his two big Irish minders after the game…Novo was saying Celtic is miles ahead of us and it will take years to catch them :)))☘☘☘

My point ( based on building a team from scratch that you deserted after one 11- 0 humping which got successive promotions two years later :) ) is not to let Dembele’s goals excuse his overall performance in any game.
He is getting 90 minutes to impress that LG isn’t and I think LG is as effective a goal threat and assist player as Dembele. Its not just Griffiths goals its when he gets them.
Of course back then in 1976 when I had two great CF’s to choose from, with one just a bit ahead of the other, I solved the problem by moving the slower guy to Left Back where he won Player of The Season the following season.
I’m not suggesting LG should move out of position of course just saying lets take judgement of both game by game and lets factor in length of time on the park during which goals assist occur when judging effectiveness.
Honestly, that’s the biggest 1-0 doin ave ever seen in my life, was that his plan B, because he did change his tactics, for his team not to score, how embarrassing ŵas that, 1-5-5 behind the half way line, long may it continue, and him as the manager.

Really like Dembele as a player but the more I hear him being interviewed and commenting in the media the more I think that he’s a very humble young man who appears to have his feet firmly on the ground. Probably down to his upbringing and those who advise him. There are few players going around who would do well to observe how he conducts himself on and off the park.
Great display today huge gap in class.

James Mccarthy passed him and his pals on Ailenhead Road before the game. He was chuffed to see him. There is a picture of James at the game on e tims twitter. normally you don’t see players with other teams wearing colours at our games but James had a Celtic scarf on.
Junior spotted my pal and his son a few rows in front of him and ran down the stairway to celebrate with them. It added to his enjoyment of the day.

Flying back today I managed to somehow avoid the score. Incredible considering I met a CQNer before take off and knew most of those on the plane were Tims.
I put in ear phones and stared at the ground through passport control. I then ran to Prestwick caravan park where we’d parked and went back to pick up the missus and her bhoy.
Magic, I’d made it without knowing the score!
So, I’ve just finished!
An absolute battering from Celtic. If they’d beaten us today it would have been an absolute travesty, we’re streets ahead of them.
My wee da died 5 years ago on this very day and consequently today’s result meant a great deal. By God I know he’s smiling tonight.
