  1. Here’s a grade A delusional halfwit from Sevco media…..

    Gilks is new.

    Hodson is new.

    Windass is new.

    Hill is new.

Thats a 40% change from last year right away.

Add to that the injury to Niko, Barton being a fanny, and two new players coming off the bench.

Guys like Dodoo, Windass and Rossiter are works in progress. Add to that the youth in Holt & McKay and we still have a good spine who should improve with time.

  2. Dena -sending best wishes for you over the coming days.

Might cop some flack here but I thought the Zombies were better in the 5-1 defeat.

They will try to infer that the game was closer but it wasn’t.

” Move along now – nothing to see here “

  3. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Parkheadcumsalford, I had the great pleasure of bring in the late and great Sean Fallon’s company a few times.

My parents were friendly with Pat Crerand’s in law’s. They stayed five closes away from where we lived.

My dad had told me Pat had to leave after a heated argument with Sean according to Pat’s father in law, Mr Ferry.

I asked Sean who made the decision to sell Pat. His reply was, ‘he had to go’. I left it at that

    Folks,

There has been much chat about how far ahead we were today despite the score.

It was clear from the outset that Warbs was going to change the way The Rangers play with a total abandonment of his forward thinking attacking football.

Today, they parked their bus as best they can. If you believe all that you are told, then today Rangers did not play the Mark Warburton way gap or no gap.

Tavernier was pushed up one so that there were two on that side to negate Kieran and Scott S.

The same on the other side to prevent wee James and Mikel running up and down to cause riot and essentially there was a constant bank of 5 and 4 in and around their box.

They had no goal threat whatsoever.

I see many a reference to what will be on 31st December.

We still need a touch and dominant midfielder who can create to come into our squad and to step up a level some of our current squad, no matter how fond of them we may be, will need to be replaced.

    BUT

There is an awful lot of football to be played between now and 31st December with us playing in both Europe and a national cup final with the team from Ibrox need not be concerned about.

However, take a look at their fixture list between now and then:

    22/10/2016 15:00 Heart of Midlothian (a) *

    26/10/2016 19:45 St. Johnstone (h) *

    29/10/2016 15:00 Kilmarnock (h)

    05/11/2016 15:00 Ross County (a) *

    19/11/2016 15:00 Dundee (h)

    26/11/2016 15:00 Partick Thistle (a)

    03/12/2016 15:00 Aberdeen (h) *

    10/12/2016 15:00 Heart of Midlothian (h) *

    17/12/2016 15:00 Hamilton Academical (a)

    24/12/2016 15:00 Inverness Caledonian Thistle (h)

    28/12/2016 19:45 St. Johnstone (a) *

    31/12/2016 15:00 Celtic (h)

There is every possibility they will drop points on all of the occasions I have marked with an asterisk before they meet us on Hogmanay.

They may even drop points in the other games and of course it is possible they will win some of the ones I have marked.

However, the point is that by 31st December those in charge at Ibrox may well be staring a big business decision in the face.

If they are miles behind us before they even take the field of play on the last day of December and they remain a distance behind Aberdeen, and Hearts, a short distance behind St Johnstone, and we have won the League Cup (or even if Aberdeen have won it actually) then there is a real risk that the fans won’t turn up for the second half of the season and that could spell financial disaster.

That may well be all the more so if we beat them and beat them well at Ibrox.

Warburton’s men were negative today but business may dictate that they have to be even more negative in a couple of months time. When he deployed an open style of play they were handed a beating. Today they were just handed a beating by a lower score.

I don’t see this Rangers team beating this Celtic team and I see the intervening fixtures being difficult for them.

We could be facing a very different thinking Ibrox outfit by New Year and there may be considerable off field pressures which dictate the on field strategy.

  5. Anyone else noticed that Neganon is very conspicuous by his absence.

Just marvellous today.I love very late goals against them.Much more sickening.

    Scott Brown is a God.

Thomthetim – thanks for the correction. I’m a child of the 70’s!! Relative youth alright but my knowledge of Celtic history has taken a nose dive of late! I used to know all that stuff. I’ve got lazy or busy. Or both.

Something in the back of my mind tells me Paddy was sold against his wishes and we needed the money at the time. Any info on t

    *****

The story at the time was that Crerand was sold after a half time bust up with Sean Fallon.

It was a Ne’er day game at Ibrox and, ironically, I thought that Paddy had been our best player in the first half.

I believe, in hindsight, that there was a culture at Celtic that our players were more prone to celebrate the Bells, than our opponents.

Our record of New Year’s Day results would seem to back that supposition.

Tontine Tim or one of the Gordons would probably give a more accurate background to the Crerand transfer.

It was also mooted that he was too pally with Jim Baxter, but it was probably their mutual pastime that hastened his exit.

  7. Hunderbirds are Gone on

Thomshuns smarmy smirking smug coupon, when disallowing Eric’s goal betrayed any pretence of neutrality. Horrible winker.

  8. ROBERTTRESSELL

How much mileage in the ‘Paddy transfer’ story is true is open to conjecture.

I was a teenager and still at school (family from Govanhill/Gorbals) – there was much discussion about the transfer amongst the menfolk who drank in the Gorbals.

Paddy was alleged to have been seen drinking in a ‘Local’ on the Friday night before an OF game. Trailing at halftime – words were exchanged in the dressing room with SF about performance. Paddy whipped off his jersey and threw it at SF suggesting maybe he could do better? He was on route to MU on the Monday morning.

  9. Neganon, was on earlier congratulating Celtic, with a swipe at FtSFA and Thomson

    We lost 4-0.

I remember the story about Paddy . No idea if it was true , however.

Our support were great. Out sung the other lot, songbook was perfect and behaviour immaculate.

  15. Jimmynotpaul: Yeah, three in a row. TBH, I despise the SFA and have no interest in attending the final. I do want us to win it, though. I just wanted to attend a match where we would hump them. Obviously, I would prefer the fans’ café beside the Superstore.

Delaneys Dunky: You were right in your prediction – we hammered them 1-0:-)

Off to mo leaba now. Next week will be my ninth working week in a row, something I’m not particularly used to.

  18. Watching the game again on BT sport now home and sobering up.

Wife gone to bed still unable to digest the finer points of a 1-0 savaging despite my attempts to illustrate the brutality of a seemingly merciful pumping using the kids’ Star Wars Characters – and yes, Darth Vader failed to adequately mark Lando Calrissian (Moussa) after LG’ ‘s (Han Solo) cutback with the deftest prod of the outside of his left boot.

Honestly, woman- how will you ever learn?

No doubt – as I called it last February when he blew on LG one-on-one at 2-0 – Thompson is still a despicable, sleekit Hun f#ckwit CHEAT, employed with no other remit than to keep the score down/in favour of the Klan; re: Erik’s goal- what an embarrassment of a decision, the shameless conniving prick.

And yes – they did cause us more problems during the 5-1 than they did during this one-off cup game; how pish does that show them to be?

They are RANK. And hteir future is grim.

Happy f###n’ days, Mr.Thompson, happy f####n’ days. Roon ye.

    Wank.

  19. 57th minute – Huns best chance of the game facillitated by Thompson allowing a dubious free kick on the halfway line to be taken at least ten yards from the ‘foul’.

    Little incriments.

  20. Gerryfaethebrig on

Fellow Celts good night and god bless Cowiebhoy hope all is good with your dad, if any reading cherish your parents !

    Hail Hail

  21. Amazing thinking from the huns, warbiola reckons the gap has closed from there not having been a gap, then he prattles on about how brave they were today, brave is the new respect and dignity, then we get their keeper telling us they outplayed us at times today, and the grass spouts pyoor pish about how they did great and they can take lots of positives from the game, good luck with that.

We get humped 7-0 from Barca and we hold our hands up, we get taught a lesson from BM and we hold our hands up admitting we were beaten by better teams, yet we pump them silly and they played us off the park, they were brave and can take lots of positives from the game.

The mind truly boggles so it does.

  22. i'vehadtochangemyname on

ct’s position must be untenable – he cannot manage a game – first half decisions affecting big second half decisions are very obvious – a large player (BT via sutton ) are onto it ! Act sfa, you know you cannae save new rangers anyway !

    Good evening my fellow Tim

    ================================================

    Hey , Gerry.

    Lovely Spring morn in Sydney.

    Much to celebrate.

The defeat of the cheat in black and the other huns.

Good morning and evening right enough.

  24. Sandman

Aye and the ball was moving when they took the free kick that was never a free kick that was taken at least ten yards from where it should have been…….:-)

  25. Before the season i said only thing we had to fear was the mibs.

I also posted about Thomson the cheat.

His choice as referee today was deliberate.

Only disappointment from the blazers was the fact he could not stop us winning.

In any other country the media would be questioning how the team who did all the attacking and had 58% possession were penalized 18 times to there opponents6?

Here he will get their sleekit approval.

They need some footballers to aid their 12th man to have any chance.

  26. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

    While I think of it.

Chris Sutton called Thompson out .

    As he has before.

    Magic.

  27. There’s only on nagging question left:

Between the laughable Hun on-field escapades, the surrendering stadium roofs, and the H2O show, one thing niggles- do I have enough popcorn in for the inevitable spectacular debacle?

Edit: Broon savaging Halliday in the 82nd minute- worth the card.
