Would be surprised if so, when we get a corner I would sit down under the low expectation of a goal however I can’t since I’m in the standing area :0)

Deffo mate. My cousin used to take me over to derelict Hydrocon – spooky. Think we may have smashed windows and stuff?? Bad laddies :-)))

I used to attend The Georgian when it had Clouds – chrome and mirrors. Lloyd Cole and The Long Ryders on the jukebox. Happy daze….

  6. Just watched the game again, and for the life of me I can’t see where all these punters are saying that the huns gave us a game in the first half, had we had our shooting boots on it could have been four at least in the first half.

It’s the hope that will kill them again.

Link to the whole game if anyone wants it.

The article to which you refer suggests that games should all kick off at different times so that every game can be broadcast or Web streamed.

Croatia, a very similar sized country to Scotland is held up as an example. Alnother similarity is that Croatia has 2 previously large clubs (Dynamo and Hajduk ) which both play to small crowds. (One day when I get time I will write about the downfall of Hajduk )

Average attendances across all games 2016/17.

    Croatia 2,750

    Scotland 14,001

The notion of fans having to arrange their schedules over 6 kick off times every week would, I am sure, significantly diminish the attractiveness of season tickets .

    A non-starter for me.

LOL! Mate – if you met me you’d never mistake me for a teacher! :-)))

Loved the Georgian – used to be a place us kids could get into back in the 80’s without anyone asking too many questions about age if you know what I mean. Hung around The Mint a lot as well – wasn;t long open at that time and we used to laught about the fact they had a mirror behind the bar with “Established 1983” or something – this was 1987 or thereabouts so seemed hilarious at the time.

Must have a wee night out in The Brig soon. Been too long.

BTW – just checked Google Maps. No. 70 Corsewall Street is much further down towards where the Toor shop used to be. Nowhere near 71! That’s The Brig for ye… ! :-)

Right now we are pathetic. Griffith’s behavior again yesterday is a metaphor for how far we have fallen across the board, in every aspect of life in Scotland. We were bossed in the game yesterday, it was boys against men. As we have been in the last 5 OF games. Then that tit Pedro with his comments afterwards, put some steal in your team Pedro and leave the bullshit out.

I was born in the 70’s, in my life time there hasn’t been a Rangers supporter as the Lord Provost of my own city – politicians and the media talk endlessly about fairness and equality, but they don’t mean it – these soundbites are just the latest weapons in the war. This iniquity in Glasgow is one of the two most egregious acts of bigotry and unfairness in Scotland today. And everyone knows it. Politicians and the media fall into two camps, those who support the inequality and those too scared and cowed to say anything about it. Either way, no one publicly criticizes, so it continues.

And we just accept it; worse, many Bears actually vote Labour, a party that in the West denies positions and roles to people from a Protestant background and denies work to Protestant contractors, I have personal experience of this; a party that diverts pro-rata funding for essential services from predominantly Protestant towns and areas to provide overwhelming funding for predominantly RC towns – see North Lanarkshire. And we simply accept it.

Timmy controls the media, and now doesn’t feel the need to have to attempt to disguise it; the BBC, a publicly funded body, takes a patent anti-Rangers stance and does so openly and unapologetically.

The Daily Record, Scotland’s largest circulation paper, will print the fantastical rants of an obvious bigot with an agenda against Rangers and their wider community – Joe Miller – concerning matches that have never taken place between teams that have never met. This wasn’t a sports article, it was a political article; and a barefaced attack on the Rangers community (Linfield being their proxy) – and when it was pointed out that the match in question didn’t take place as the teams had never met, showing that the most elementary of fact checking doesn’t take place when it comes to attacking the Rangers community, what is the result. Nothing. No resignations or sackings, not even an apology. Why bother, what are we/Rangers going to do about it? Nothing.

We have the Scotland manager and assistant as ex-Celtic staff, and Mackay the youth development guy. What has Mackay ever done to justify this role other than be a Celtic man. This was the guy sending grotesque racist messages – but who cares about all that so long as he is a Celtic man. No credentials and racist? Don’t worry about that, so long as it’s Timmy that will never be brought up. Regan was handpicked by Lawwell, an Englishman with Irish roots who is firmly on the side of Celtic and under the control of Lawwell.

Refs are terrified to give anything against Celtic, they know they will face a media storm, with the very real chance of problems in their professional life and attacks on their family and home and their property, from Timmy in the street and the media.

As for Police and Pfs office, 10,000 Hibs supporters invade Hampden, threatening all Rangers fans in the stadium, including women and children. 100 Bears take to the field to protect the Rangers support, there have been more prosecutions of Bears than Hibs fans – how is that even comprehensible? And of course, not one politician spoke out against this disgrace, least of all our First Minister. The party of Brendan O’Hara, the man who refers publicly to Rangers fans as “Orange bastards” yet keeps his job, without any sanction from his party.

I remember the OF match when McAvennie slapped Woods. Woods, Butcher, and McAvennie got sent off. Woods, Butcher and ROBERTS got prosecuted. Then Duncan Ferguson, a man victimized by the PFs office and SFA – a square up that happens in every game in every league, every weekend. And Dunc got screwed and we did nothing. Will Griffiths face charges for his repeated provocative behavior? Of course not, we all know this. Timmy runs the PFs office.

As for the EBT fiasco, the Inland Revenue went after Rangers with such venom, instead of settling as they did with all other clubs and companies who used EBTs, because the IR Office is manned by Timmy. Commercial disputes seldom go to trial, trials are costly, very time consuming and the outcome is uncertain – but with Rangers, Timmy in the IR had nothing to lose, after all, it was public money if they lost and a huge %^*& you to Rangers if they won, so why not. I also believe the judges were conscious of the blow back if they came out in favour of Rangers – had it been Celtic in the dock I firmly believe the outcome would have been different, that is how far the rot has set in.

There are countless other examples in our society; the reformation, the most important event in Scottish history is not taught in schools, John Knox, the most important Scot who ever lived and IMO the greatest, his grave is a small plaque on the ground of a car park in Edinburgh. There should be a museum to this man alone. David Livingstone, a giant of the Kirk, his memorial is in disgraceful disrepair.

And last but not least, state schooling in Scotland. Politicians talk endlessly of fairness and equality – and I agree, I genuinely want fairness and equality. But fairness and equality means the same treatment for all; so how, I ask, in a multicultural, multireligious society can state funded religious schools be provided to one denomination of one faith and no state funding for schools be provided to the plethora of other faiths, how is that fair and equal? I am confused.

Worst still, all objective evidence shows that faith schools perform better; so by your taxes paying for a system that provides a state funded privilege to one denomination of one faith only, you are actually paying for a system that knowingly and with intent puts your children at a disadvantage.

I’ll say that again, if you do not send your child to a state funded privileged faith school, you are funding a system designed intentionally to put your child at a disadvantage. And we all know it, politicians and the media know it, and oh how they laugh as us. Imagine being so pathetic, paying for a system that puts you at a significant disadvantage, and doing so without so much as a complaint.

In life you don’t get what you deserve, you get what you will accept. And at the moment, we accept all the shit they can throw at us. We are a cowed people, a people without fight.

    What are we to do?

It’s all about the wish list for the mssm.

    Wishing Tavs could defend

    Wishing Hodson could play football.

Wishing both centre backs were not culpable at both goals.

    Wishing they had a midfield.

Wishing Morelos was more than a lower league goalscorer they could get billions for.

Wishing Thomson had given them a penalty for a dive.

Wishing a clueless coach could turn dross into a football team.

  17. Just thinking there I stopped using the term ‘old firm’ probably 15 years ago, around the time the club stopped joint sponsorship etc. CFC haven’t used the term for, I think, 10 years.

Would it not be an idea for all the CSCs to write a polite but very public letter to all media asking them to stop?

Basically, saying that a huge chunk of their customer base hates it and it belongs in a time long ago.

Just watching the game again- what an amazing piece of skill by Scott Brown in the first half.

  18. TET,

  21. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

The Timreaper, good news Kouassi is back in training.

Once he match fit , it would be good , if Broonie is rested or suspended , he would get the chance to cover for him.

It would be good to see him getting a run in the team at some point this season.

  22. Dallas

    Who would Kouassi replace ?

Scott is going nowhere, Armstrong, Rogic or N’Cham ?

  23. Kouassi was bought for £3m, he is a similar type of player to Brown although on what we have seen so far has a long, long way to go to match the same levels. However it would be good to see him get some game time even against the cannon fodder of the SPFL. We will make 4 or 5 changes after each European tie so everyone will get a chance.

  24. GERRYBHOY: And that is precisely what King & Co exploit. The Sevconians are so deranged they will swallow swallow anything RRM tell them.

They truly believe they are wholly innocent victims of a worldwide conspiracy by the Catholic Church and all it’s secret sects etc…

I’ve tried explaining some of this to some of my colleagues at work (who know very little about Scottish football/society) and they just can’t comprehend it.

I tell them stories like the banning of green football boots and many others like it… they think I am making them up.

How do you convince ‘neutrals’ that these events actually happened and continue to happen?

  25. Right, I’ve consulted the rool book and can’t find anything relating to defenders creating a hurdle of a particular height that may be deemed illegal.

Does the ref carry a ruler to determine if said unstated, unwritten rule has been breached?

Can’t find it anywhere, wonder why?

I particularly love Wa*lkers description of fouls.

Huns – definite contact (ergo foul)

The mighty Hoops – made the most of it, not enough contact for me.

    Repeat ad infinitum

Ps Sonic – we shall refer to the soup takers as much as we want. Goddit?
