RODGERS TO RAID BUNDESLIGA

CELTIC boss Brendan Rodgers is lining up a swoop on Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund right-back Jeremy Toljan.

Hoops scouts have watched the former Germany youth international in recent months and the champions could be ready to make a move for the 24-year-old defender.

Toljan has been told he can leave on loan – and Rodgers is ready to bring the player to Parkhead in this transfer window.

The former Hoffenheim star made 19 starts for Dortmund last season, but has yet to start a game this term since the arrival of Swiss coach Lucien Favre.

Rodgers has made the No.2 position a priority as he has stepped up his search for a long-term replacement for Mikael Lustig who is out of contract at the end of the campaign.

Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne and Olympiakos’ Omar Elabdelloaui have also been mentioned in recent weeks, but it looks as though Toljan has leapt to the head of the queue.

Costa Rican international Cristian Gamboa is also coming out of contract in the summer which would leave Rodgers with only 20-year-old Anthony Ralston as a recognised right-back.
