ROGIC OUT UNTIL MARCH AS COMPPER JOINS INJURY LIST

1

TOM ROGIC’s injury lay-off could extend to March after Brendan Rodgers revealed the classy Australian was out for ‘6-8 weeks.’

Rogic, 25, has been an important player for Celtic in the past few seasons with his creativity aiding the team with goals and assists. His absence was underlined by Rodgers after the Rangers game, which ended in a 0-0 draw at Celtic Park.

Rogic picked up the injury in wake of the 1-0 home defeat to Anderlecht in the UEFA Champions League.

Celtic will be hoping that the playmaker is fit and back into the fray for the defence of the Scottish Cup and the League.

Meanwhile, Celtic fans will have to wait ‘3-4 weeks’ until new Bhoy, Marvin Compper makes his debut for the champions. The 32-year-old defender, who arrived from RB Leipzig this month, picked up a calf injury during the club’s trip to Dubai over the winter break.

Compper now joins Rogic, Roberts, Ralston, Hayes and Armstrong on the Celtic Park injury list. Rodgers could be tempted to look to bring in a couple of players to sure up his ranks in the coming weeks.

NEW CQN PODCAST OUT NOW FEATURING TOMMY SHERIDAN

A Celtic State of Mind presents its 30th instalment of insightful discussion around the culture of Celtic Football Club, the city of Glasgow, and fans of the reigning treble-winning Scottish champions.

Kevin Graham is joined by Scotty Alcroft to interview Scottish pro-independence politician, Tommy Sheridan, at The Penalty Spot in Glasgow.

The interview took place as part of A Celtic State of Mind’s first live event – Five-a-sides at The Penalty Spot – and, as such, there is some background noise (including mobile interference – apologies) from the audience.

The other voice you may hear throughout this episode is that of former Celtic striker, Frank McGarvey, who is a friend of Tommy’s, and who was also interviewed separately that day for a future show.

You are sure to enjoy Tommy’s eclectic input, as he discusses everything from Catalan independence to Coolio, with a constant undercurrent of that thing called Celtic.
