  1. Celticrollercoaster supporting @WalkWithShay on

IMO, Red midst by Broony today. Partially mitigated due to the blatant cheating/honest mistake by the ref on the penalty, so I will excuse him in the heat of the moment.

However, red card no chance! Tackle on Kieran today was a shocker

Celtic, time to make a stand, or continue to live with the consequences!

Even from the opposite end of the ground we knew Eric was a mile away from making contact. It was an atrocious decision.

The feeling amongst the Celtic support (at the game) was that Brown was reckless.

Hello this is WEE BGFC. Been reading back coming from the Highlands and i have an opinion I would like to share with you, fellow tims(not mickbhoy1888 ’cause he’s a hun). The talking point of the game should not be Broonys red card, it should be the dive which stole two points away from us – which also overshadowed a largely dominant and impressive performance by the Tic. IMHO

Well said, for some on here slagging everything Celtic do is the norm.

Was at work and didn’t see game or result until I got home. Funnily enough as I scrolled down I saw neganon’s name and assumed we had lost.

Happily we didn’t lose. Disappointing for some but not me.

    ————————————–

    Indeed.

    Strange team formation today.

It almost worked though, until the MIB intervened.

Presumably DB and ML are carrying injuries.

If they return next Sunday, the manager has to go with a 4-4-2 set up.

James Forrest and Calum McGregor need to be rested.

    CG.

    ML – DB – JS – KT.

SB – TR – SA – EK or PR.

    MD – SS.

Start with the above team and formation – the zomboids are eliminated.

Broony reckless or just human ?

I love Broony and think he has been brilliant for us and numerous managers stick by him, today was blatant cheating and Scott got his ankles rapped a few times after it, never mind Celtic am sure you will agree that sometimes emotion takes over…… League is won, game didn’t matter but the blatant cheating caused Scott to probably be a wee bit reckless……. Joe Garner has no excuse but gets away with it every single game…..that’s no whatabouterry or whatever the Huns call it that’s just simple facts……the Huns which whistles treat Broony differently, the fact is he has hardly game them the opportunity but alas the opportunity arises from the cheating from ref & LINESMAN …….

  8. Scott Brown being able to play next week (assuming we surely appeal) is great news and will have the zombies frothing. Hilarious how it’s now turned out, due to the Easter break. Thought we looked a bit lacklustre today. Next week will be a different story.

  9. Stairheedrammy on

Compare Scott Brown’s tackle today with that done on wee Patrick in the derby game. I think it was Halliday or Wallace who scissor tackled him from behind on the edge of our box, the dobber then turned and had a shot while our players waited in vain for a foul. The only difference between that one and Scott’s is that Scott didnt tackle from behind. Different standards applied to us though.

  10. In a season when we’ve had several star performers, Scott Brown is still our most important player.

  11. We played fine today, good enough for the win.

The Ref, was just what Scottish Ref’s are, any opportunity and they will take it.

Just before Brown was sent off the same player clattered him from behind, no action from the ref.

The red card for Brown goes along the same lines as the penalty, any opportunity.

It was reckless, but that merits a yellow, he wasn’t out of control.

You’d think it was a plan to weaken Celtic, but that’s too paranoid isn’t it?

  12. embramike supporting Res 12 on

So thats 40 domestic games undefeated – 36 wins and 4 draws.

Of the 4 drawn games we were ahead until 4 late equalisers, 3 in the last 3 minutes:

    o ICT – 89 th min

    o huns – 87 th min

    o Thistle – 64 th min

o Ross County – 90 th min pen

WE need to be mindful in our remaining games – a 1 goal lead is not always enough.

Aslo we have only lost 5 of the 52 games we have played – all in the Champions League.

And these are the only games we have not scored a goal in – if we score we don’t lose. So ..

    Lesson 1 – score a goal we don’t lose ;

    Lesson 2 – 2 goal margin we win !

  13. FAIRHILL BOY

You make it sound like its never been like this before.

    You are andy walker!

    HAHAHA!

  14. Hope we are not all moaning about being cheated again!

    It is what it is.

Mind the ‘Score more goals than the opposition mantra’. Aye see what that gets you when it’s close. Numpties!

Broonie was a sending off IMO but the same ref allowed wee KT’s career to be put at risk with a much worse and career risking challenge far more than Broknues tackle a couple of months ago.

But hey, every game we are going to make the refs decisions redundant. Numpties.

No need to add to what’s already been said. Shocking decision, Brown was reckless. My concern is the form of Eric. I thought he was superb when he first arrived but his last number of performances have scared me. I’d be worried if he was playing against the cheating hordes next Sunday. However Brendan knows better and I’m sure we will prevail no matter what.

  16. MWD

Sorry mate, NEVER a red card if you play for anyone else but CELTIC.

The referee has history with us, bad history, like most if not all refs currently doing our games.

    So disagree!

  17. Gftb

It’s reckless and foolish in my opinion. Never mind anything else Gerry, the tackle itself has put us in a situation.

Personally, I think it merited a yellow.

  18. fairhill bhoy on

PHILBHOY-I ment league is won,so it’s hard to keep motivated-:) but you keep doing walker:-))

  19. Shocking ref display but sadly not unexpected. If Broony does miss the hun game it’s maybe just as well as he would be off for not smiling at the bloody ref. An absolute scandal. Too easy and lazy to say the game didn’t matter – -of course it mattered. But, the talking point won’t be the penalty sadly, it’ll be how bad our captain was. But hey, we are used to the blatant cheating, or certainly should be.

If the club is not looking for alternative leagues to play in, they should be. We cannot sit back and do nothing, or can we?

In Scotland that is a red for Celtic but not a red for any other team playing against Celtic. On that we agree.

Any other country in the world it is a red to any player except Messi who sometimes gets away with those kind of challenges.

  22. Broonie does not miss SC semi.

The appeal will be held following week according to BEEB. All teams informed mid week that due to Easter BH any appeals this week will be held after next weekend games. They must have expects some Hun to be under spotlight.

    A stonewall yellow…. A rubbish red :-)

Broony wouldn’t have went into that challenge if the minutes before it didn’t happen, I don’t buy into this captain lark and should know better, some people would kick their own grannies even at 5’s :-)

In the cold light of day Broony should have just done the Broony but we get what we deserve and I am delighted we deserve getting Scott Brown

  24. Simunovic is in a totally different class to the other defenders we have. He will start next week and i expect Boyata to partner him.

Looking at the first RC goal today, when the ball is out wide Erik turns rounds and sees Gardyne standing himself, inexplicably he does nothing and gets caught under the ball. KT tried to come off Boyce to head clear but he was marking two men. Erik should taken a few stakes back and picked up the man. Maybe KT should have been screaming at him.

As i highlighted previously, the equalising Partick Thistle goal, the ball goes out wide and he did nothing to close down the ball and shut off the angle. The lack of desire to shut off the angle concerned me. He was roasted a few other times that night.

Similarly his last two performances against the Huns have been appalling.

Guy i know says Erik was interested in joining Leicester in the window, don’t now if true or not. But something is a miss with him. He is unsure of himself which is causing uncertainty. Uncertainty is a disease in any defence.

Put yourself in the opposition shoes, if Erik is playing you would look to unsettle him straight away. Jozo is unflappable and seems to enjoy the physical aspect. He is very aggressive and positionally very sound. Ideally Boyata will put in one of those aggressive performances you get from him from time to time.

My tickets are in the Directors Box, where is that from 416?

    Can I walk to it?

Or is it another entrance to the ground completely?
